The enchanting, Italianate Portmeirion Village in North Wales is set right next to the beach, with acres of winding woodland and full of picturesque colourful buildings.

You’re unlikely to find any other Spanish haciendas in Glasgow, that’s for sure. Arta is a unique venue with a choice of seven sumptuous rooms split over three floors that boast a relaxed Mediterranean vibe. It’s a restaurant in its day-to-day life so you’re guaranteed a delicious Spanish feast.

Set in the heart of Bristol, it has three unique areas to host your day: their woodland wedding venue, the Underwood Centre; the elegant Spielman Centre with grand pillars and steps; and the Grade II-listed Anglican church. Each has individual atmosphere and character and is perfect for weddings under 80 guests.

50. Alladale Wilderness Reserve – Ardgay, Sutherland
All your nearest and dearest will be able to stay over at Alladale. This traditional Scottish lodge sleeps 14 while a further two nearby cottages sleep 12 more. Just an hour’s drive north of Inverness, Alladale is set in 100 sq kilometres of magnificent Scottish Highlands and is the perfect backdrop for animal-loving couples.

This grand and historic building offers a range of stunning spaces for weddings. While The Old Royal Naval College may be most famous for its large Painted Hall – thought to be the finest dining hall in Europe – it also has its fair share of intimate spaces.
The Admiral’s House is the oldest building on-site with a history dating back to 1660. The house comprises of a range of light and airy rooms, with the largest able to accommodate 70 for a reception and 60 for a sit-down meal. Rooms can be hired individually or the whole house, with a capacity of 90, can be hired exclusively.

The Georgian Manor House at the Milton Keynes Holiday Inn is a surprisingly pretty place to host your wedding. There’s a variety of sizes of space, but we adore the Lovett Conservatory that opens up onto the courtyard for up to 24 guests and the Lovett Suite for up to 90. A full package for 40 day guests and 70 evening guests, which includes a DJ, master of ceremonies and two-course breakfast, costs less than £3,500.
54. The King’s Croft Hotel – Pontefract, West Yorkshire
Choose from the elegant hotel or – our favourite spot – the Wedding Pavilion at the King’s Croft Hotel for your big day. The Pavilion can hold up to 80 guests but works brilliantly with much smaller ceremonies too and has spectacular panoramic views across the hotel’s eight acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. It’s romantic, relaxed and affordable – tick, tick, tick!

With a backdrop of Bellahouston Park, the striking House for an Art Lover will catch your guests’ eyes as they arrive. Inside, the Mackintosh Suite is inspired by the art and architecture of renowned Scottish artist and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

This quaint country pub is home to a separate events space that was formerly the village hall called The Shed. Set off a flood-lit courtyard, The Shed is a flexible area for up to 34 seated and 60 standing guests with vaulted ceilings and large, bright windows. The Museum Inn is a great intimate wedding venue run by a friendly and experienced team and offers fantastic wedding rates.
