The best decision we have ever made.

Choosing Sparth House for our wedding venue was the best decision we have ever made, we can’t recommend the team and their venue highly enough. If you’re currently deciding where to have your wedding, give this a read and good luck with everything!

First and foremost: Emma, Olivia, Katie and Callum are the perfect team to handle your wedding and put your trust and faith in. From start to finish they were delightful to deal with.

Picking a venue

When we first started to look at venues we looked across Lancashire and Cheshire and as you may be, became paralysed by the amount of choice, information to digest and overwhelm of making a decision. Over time we visited many venues, but the majority felt like you were missing something, had to compensate, or they were just far too expensive for what you get.

When we had our appointment and tour of Sparth House, we could imagine the whole day from start to finish without giving up or compensating on a single thing. A fully exclusive and all included venue, with rooms that flow from one part of the day to the next, we could visualise our perfect day. From the bridal party night before suite, down to the ceremony room, to the gorgeous main bar and gardens and then into the wedding breakfast room, the venue has a flow which made the day seamless for us and our guests. Whilst also being blessed by the most perfect spring weather and golden hour in the gardens.

You will visit many venues, but we can honestly say out of all, Sparth made us feel the most special and privileged when we had our first appointment / viewing. Some venues can make you feel like another number or wedding, even tidying up previous weddings or taking calls whilst showing you around. At Sparth, we were never given a hard sell or felt rushed or required to spend more money. It just felt right. We even had a customised welcome sign, prosecco and home made brownies waiting for us on arrival to our appointment. These little touches don’t sound like a lot, but looking back this was the first of many touches and surprises that they made, which showed us we had made the perfect choice.

The run up to the big day

We booked our venue around 18 months before the wedding. From booking until arriving for the big day Katie, Emma and Olivia were organised, calm and supportive in everything we wanted to do and try. What was also refreshing, was how well they know and care about the venue. Sparth House is a family run business and you really feel how much the place means to the them and they almost feel privileged to host your wedding at their place. We received so much advice, help and recommendations and at times they were comfortable to advise against things we suggested, and we respected their honesty and experience. Each selection paid off perfectly. Every local supplier we used were perfect and they brought their own specialities to the big day. The day before

We had a pre-wedding lunch the day before with close friends and family as the bridal party were staying over the night before, so it made sense to get everyone together before we went our separate ways. This couldn’t have gone any better and Sparth gave us the biggest surprise! We had first assumed we would be on the terrace or inside near one of the bars but given the stunning weather they set up a full Al Fresco party in the garden. Two long tables fully dressed for 30 people, it was stunning and we were blown away. We invited the kids as we had a no-kids wedding and it was the perfect way to settle in before the big day with some outdoor games.

The night before

The bridal party and Mum’s stayed on site in the stunning garden apartment, which was a huge unique selling point (one of many!) vs every venue we visited. A full apartment with kitchen, living room and bedrooms meant the bridal party could settle in, have pizza and prosecco and get ready with loads of space, in complete peace before walking straight downstairs into the ceremony room on the big day via a cute secret passageway. We can’t express how much of a positive impact this had on the whole day and night before.

The big day

As many newlyweds will tell you the day goes too fast, and you must take the time to soak it in and enjoy it. We can both honestly say we had the perfect day that went better than we could ever have imagined, it was the happiest day of our lives. It’s only thanks to the team, the venue and everything Sparth did in the run up, which enabled us to relax, switch off and take it all in. There wasn’t a single hiccup. Throughout the whole day Emma and Olivia orchestrated each stage, guest and detail seamlessly. Emma, Olivia and Katie are WonderWomen!

The secret ingredient

From our wedding taster to pre-wedding lunch, to canapes, to wedding breakfast, to evening food and breakfast on our final day, the food was simply exquisite, and I lost count of the number of compliments from our guests on the food. The food really does matter. This is all thanks to Sparth’s secret ingredient Head Chef Callum, who is an absolute legend and pleasure to deal with. Every course was fresh, original and we were never short on portion sizes!

The extra touches

From our first appointment to leaving on the day, there were so many touches where Sparth went above and beyond. The Al Fresco set up for our pre-wedding lunch blew us away; our welcome for our appointment was head and shoulders above every other venue; how they dressed the wedding breakfast and ceremony room was perfection and they used the leftovers to dress up the rest of the venue without us asking; before going to bed well after midnight, Callum stayed up and made us our own personalised pizza; due to a bit of confusion on our side Sparth arranged a private taster evening for us because of how passionate we were about the food being right; a week after our wedding and our photo previews had come out, Sparth wrote a full blog of the day which was the best way to top up the wedding vibes (and our review is a response to that!) – we were almost in tears reading it back! These are only a selection of the many ways they made our day special.

Saying goodbye

After we packed up and left the venue we had to come back a few days later to collect a few pieces we had forgotten. When we pulled back up, we both felt so sad that we weren’t getting married again. We felt like we were saying goodbye to the special place that gave us the happiest day of our lives.

Where to start with this - what a weekend. We just wanted to write you a little thank you for all your effort for our wedding on 7th December 2024 - we had the most perfect day and that’s thanks in no small part to the Sparth House team for helping us to organise such a great event.

Emma, you gave us the warmest welcome at Sparth House for the Wednesday open evening back in June, and we have felt so confident leaving this in your safe hands from the outset, especially doing this in such a tight turnaround (6 months to the day pretty much!). Everything was clearly explained to us from day one and since then no question was left unanswered - you were always so approachable, welcoming and happy to help which has made the whole planning process so much easier. Both of us felt completely calm right up to the big day and that is mainly because we knew if we had forgotten anything, you would be a safety net running along behind us to remind us of it all - every little detail was covered so thank you so much for bringing our special day to life!

Megan, you couldn’t do enough for us on the Friday night before the wedding, in the garden apartment for the meal with my (Hayley’s) family. You were so welcoming and we all felt so well looked after - you went above and beyond to make my last night as a ‘miss’ really special, so thank you so much (and hopefully you had some good birthday celebrations after working our wedding!)

The food was a huge priority for us as I’m sure was very clear from day one. We loved the taster evening and were so impressed by the range of choices (as well as accommodating our special request of homemade fudge!) On the Friday in the garden apartment, the pizza, salads and bruschettas were such a treat (as well as the gorgeous brownies and cookies) - it really made it a memorable evening. On the day, the gorgeous continental breakfast set us all up perfectly for the day. Our guests were so impressed by the canapés and the wedding breakfast food (lamb shank) - it’s all anybody was talking about. The cheese table, which can only be described as Pinterest-worthy, went down a storm. As bride and groom, we hadn’t had chance to go and indulge which we were both gutted about - however a lovely touch was returning to the bridal suite after the reception to find a beautifully decorated pizza box filled with cheeses, crackers, fruit and wedding cake - we were both delighted! The Greek buffet for the evening reception was fantastic, so massive thank you to the chefs for creating such delicious food - it really made the day.

Thanks to Olivia for helping the day to run so smoothly and supervising the delicious breakfast and check-out process the morning after for the guests that stayed over. Nothing was too much trouble so thank you for your patience!

Overall, it was an incredible experience and we can’t thank you enough. There is so much more that we could mention. It was such a special day and there were so many personal touches by the Sparth House team that just made it even more perfect - we will remember it forever.

Sparth House have thought of everything. I cannot thank them enough. Our day was everything and more. No questions went unanswered in the lead up, the service was excellent and the food was devine

We recently got married at Sparth House at the end of August and had the most perfect day thanks to Emma, Katie, Olivia and the rest of the staff there - we honestly can't thank them enough.

We booked our wedding 8 months before the big day and had just popped to one of the open evenings for a nosy round - it was the first venue we had been to look at but as soon as we walked through the door, we knew it was the one and decided to pencil in a date that evening.

The whole process of booking and planning our wedding went so smoothly and was made completely stress free. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and professional throughout. Emma was our wedding planner and despite the fact that she must plan a lot of different weddings, she always made us feel like our day was so important to her. We thought it was brilliant that we could Whatsapp any questions over and Emma would be so speedy with her responses. It really felt like everyone at Sparth House genuinely wanted us to have the best day. We loved the fact that it is a family run/owned business and there was a real care to how they look after the wedding couples, customers and guests.

On the day, everything went to plan and we had an amazing time. It felt really well organised and the staff kept the day running really smoothly. The canapes, wedding breakfast and evening food were all fantastic. I have quite a number of food intolerances and Sparth House were incredibly accommodating with this - they had the chef look over my dietary requirements and we had plenty of discussions over how the menu could be tweaked and what food could be prepared specifically for me to ensure I still had plenty to eat.

We had several comments from our guests about how lovely Sparth House was, how professional and friendly the staff were and how nothing was too much trouble, as well as how good the food was.

Thank you to everyone at Sparth House that made our wedding day so special - I wish we could do it all again!

Well I had my day 10th August 2024, special shout out to Emma (particularly Emma), Katie, Olivia and Meghan!! You guys rock! In fact all of the people at Sparth House do!
From the first show around, which is immense, to the day itself I cannot say anything but good things, no question is stupid, and they are super quick to respond.
If you are sitting on the fence, get an appointment booked!!! These guys know what they are doing!
So you are always invited to check in with them, they did a little party for future bride and grooms which is ace, because I booked this place with my heart, not my head, and didn't have time to go back on the wedding and wine Wednesday's (I think thats what they are called) and I fell in love all over again!
The taster meal was immense!!!!

The night before you get the garden apartment and OMG its amazing, the food is stunning - yes they feed you, and there is ample space for all you bridesmaids to get ready! The hot Lips phone is there for any questions or requests you may have. They add little personal touches, that make it feel so special!
Both My MUA and Hair Stylist said it looks stunning from the outside, its beyond impressive both in and out! The breakfast is also stunning!

Emma is lovely, and one of the nicest people you could wish to help make your day perfect!! I commented at one point, OMG its like hearding cats, her response was dont worry I will sort it!

I honestly don’t know where to start. Sparth House will always have a piece of our hearts!

On walking through the front door it was instantly welcoming, the house is stunning and has been beautifully decorated in keeping with the history of the building yet has a luxury feel to it. It felt like it fitted us as a couple perfectly and had everything we wanted for our day including a gorgeous outdoor space for the children to run wild and guests to relax in.

The garden apartment is an extra special treat, it truly kicked off the celebrations for myself and my bridal party. We were treated like royalty and didn’t want for anything while there. We had a sneaky view of the bride from the day before waiting to walk down the aisle which made it really exciting and on the morning of the wedding we could see the groomsmen and guests arriving, enjoying our sax player which we could hear from the ceremony room below. Our daughters loved it so much especially having their own room with bunk beds!

Emma was our wedding coordinator and she is nothing short of incredible. Nothing was too much to ask and she organised our day with such care and attention to detail. She looked after us so well on the day, if there was anything we needed Emma had already done it!

In true Sparth house fashion though it was a family affair, Olivia was there to reapply my lipstick and practice my walk before going down the aisle, Katie was on hand in the evening keeping some of our rowdy guests in check! An not forgetting Callum who made us the most delicious canapés, wedding breakfast and evening BBQ food which our guests absolutely raved about!

The whole team of staff on the day were extremely professional, coordinated, dedicated and friendly. Lots of our guests praised the staff as they felt they were treated extremely well throughout the day.

The bedrooms are beautiful, each decorated with a different vibe to give guests a different experience. The bridal suite is just stunning, I wish we could have spent more time in there. It was the perfect place to have a breather after the wedding breakfast.

The following morning was such a lovely touch having breakfast with all of our guests that stayed over. It was a great ending to a fabulous weekend, talking about all of the details and memories made from our day. We got to really soak up the love and appreciation from our nearest and dearest before saying our goodbyes to each guest.

We had the most magical time at Sparth House, after 16 years of dreaming of our day, it absolutely surpassed our expectations. We can’t thank you all enough for putting your hearts into making our day so special. We will be forever grateful for the memories xx

I don’t think I could write enough about how amazing Sparth House is! From my co-ordinator Katie, plus Emma and Olivia, to all the team, they really made our day magical. We booked two years in advance and any questions I had during that time Katie or one of the team were always on hand to help! There was never a silly question (and trust me I had a few!) They even helped me keep organised with the wedding toolkit, which really helped me keep my head focused and organised!

The day itself was perfect, everyone in our bridal party and even guests commented on how organised and on it the team were. All our guest commented on how beautiful Sparth House is as well. From the garden apartment the night before to the most amazing bridal suite, I just honestly cannot explain how amazing the venue was. Me and my bridal party had the best night before, with perfect sleepover vibes, the most amazing brownies and pizza! Then in the morning a fab breakfast spread to make sure we had some sustenance for getting down the aisle. Then there’s all the little extra touches you can add into the day like the ring for fizz wall and the gin bar! All our guests have commented on how amazing the venue was.

They always made sure we were in the right place at the right time throughout the day, and nothing was ever too much. The venue alone is stunning and each room has its own style and uniqueness, but the team and everyone who runs the show behind the scenes is really what makes it extra special. You don’t feel like another couple coming through the door, it really felt like ours for the day and we could not have asked for a more perfect venue and wedding day!

Sparth House is a truly special place for a wedding. From the moment we came for a viewing, we knew it was 'the one'.

The team have wedding planning down to a fine art, and are flexible and responsive. Every detail was carefully considered, which makes a huge difference on the day. There was a high level of engagement between ourselves and the venue from day one and we loved the invitations to the venue for tasting days, viewings and launch parties. It all helped us to plan our wedding and get excited about the big day!

We were delighted with every element of our wedding day - the beautiful interior, the amazing food, the impeccable service, delicious drinks, and wonderful, helpful staff.

We had our wedding at Sparth House on 28 July 2023 and all we can say is wow! From the first time seeing the venue we knew it’d be where we would get married, it is simply a magical place.

The garden apartment that is there to stay in the night before and get ready in the morning of is simply stunning, it was so lovely to be in one place and get ready and have a peek out the windows to see guests arriving.

The venue itself is just simply beautiful, so many photo opportunities and all our guests commented on how amazing it is. They have recently renovated the bar area and bridal suite as well as some guests rooms to make the place even better than it already was.

There are no words for how amazing the staff are! Our wedding planner Katie was simply incredible and there for me any time when I had questions, always reassuring me and making sure the whole day ran smoothly, not one single thing went wrong! All of the staff will make you feel like royalty, the service is impeccable! They are so professional, polite and caring, always checking everything was okay and if we needed anything.

The food was simply delicious, from the taster day we knew it was going to be good but they really did do amazing on the day and all our guests loved it to.

If I could get married again I would have the exact same wedding at Sparth House and I am so glad we picked this amazing venue for our special day, they truly made it the best day ever.

From the moment we stepped into the house I knew this would be a where we would get married. It just felt right. Such a homely yet elegant feel. We booked our wedding two years in advance but the girls kept in touch all the way through with check in emails and were always on hand to answer any questions!

I stayed with my bridal party the night before in the garden apartment and would undoubtedly recommend this for all brides. I felt so relaxed, the apartment is gorgeous and not having the stress of traveling anywhere on the morning of the wedding was perfect.

The day ran without fault and that was all down to our amazing wedding planner Katie and her fantastic team. She ensured the day ran effortlessly which as the bride and groom is so important on an already nerve filled day! From fixing my veil moments before I walked down the aisle to ensuring I always had a drink in my hand, Katie went above an beyond to make sure our day was more than we could have dreamed of.
Every individual guest was catered for, no little detail missed and all our guests commented (and still continue to comment) on what an amazing time they had - especially the food!! Having full exclusivity of the venue meant we could truly relax and party without the worry of unknown guests being part of our day and this was something a lot of other venues we had looked at couldn’t provide.

I wish we could do the day over and over and would advise anyone considering Sparth House as their wedding venue to choose it!

I don’t even know where to start! We had just got engaged and knew straight away we didn’t want a long engagement so we pulled out the laptop and started making enquiries at various wedding venues, Sparth house responded straight away and got us a show around booked in for a time that suited us (I need to add its been approx. 12 months now and some venues still haven’t responded). We had looked at approx. 6 venues and as soon as we walked in to Sparth house we fell in love with it, you can tell straight away Olivia goes above and beyond for every couple and is definitely an expert in all things weddings! I am a bit of an organization freak so once we booked our date in and they sent me over an excel spreadsheet it was a dream! Everything you need plus things you haven’t even thought about is on the documents they sent, it takes away so much stress and I don’t know any other venue that provides so much help in the planning stages.
All of our suppliers were included in the package and/or recommended by sparth house, this made it so much easier as they already have a working relationship and to be honest we didn’t really have to do much, from booking our date everything was all sorted 10 days later, not many people can say that.
We booked the garden apartment for me (the bride) to stay in the night before, I cant recommend it enough, plenty of room for everyone, the pizza was the best I have ever eaten! I could happily live there if they would let me. My hair and make up artist also complimented the space and the light, there is no need to worry about room time restrictions as I know a lot of brides worry about that.
Now the morning off the wedding, it was so relaxing, Sparth house come and give you updates on times and guest etc. Sadly the only thing they can’t control is the weather, it was heavily raining all day, I needn’t have worried at all, they implemented plan B they all got their brollies out (even getting wet themselves) to ensure I didn’t get a speckle of rain on me. We requested a candle lit low lighting ceremony room, when I say they go above and beyond, they even took bulbs out of the main light for us, not to mention lighting 100 candles. The ceremony room looked so much better than we could of dreamt off.
This followed on to the wedding breakfast, they moved the candles around Sparth house without us even asking, everywhere and I mean everywhere looked perfect, I kept taking a step back in shock that this was our wedding day and not someone else’s. So many people complimented the food (would 100% recommend the brownie).
All the rooms are beautiful and the breakfast the next day was the best I have ever eaten, so many people still mention it now.

The most stunning venue. Every little detail has been thought out by the team here, its second to none. They have a beautiful garden apartment to stay the night before with your bridesmaids and it is absolutely perfect. The rooms throughout the venue are absolutely stunning, the food was delicious, the grounds are stunning too. We could not have picked a better place to enjoy one of the best days our life. All of our guests commented on how wonderful this venue was and we couldn't agree more. Olivia, Katie and Emma (and the rest of the SH team) are the best.

Our wedding day ran without any hiccups, the smooth transitions, didn't feel like anything was forced, reception, wedding breakfast, evenining transition. It was effortless.
Katie, Olivia, Emma are a fab team, but on the day you see so many other members of the team, that really do make a special impact of the day. The little things - no long queues at the bar... hahah no one wants to wait for a drink and especially at a wedding. The formula at spartg House is perfect and if you choose this venue, you will not be disappointed, I can walk in a room and 99% can be perfect and I will see that one fault.... and for the first time in my life, I could not find a fault....
