Meet the team
I’m John, and I’ve been helping couples plan their weddings for over fifteen years. It’s not just a job—it’s something I genuinely care about. I’ve always believed that a wedding should feel like home: familiar, joyful, and full of heart. That’s what I try to bring to every couple I work with.
I’m not the loudest person in the room, but I’m a good listener. I’ll notice the little things—how you talk about your family, the way your eyes light up when you mention your favourite song, or the quiet nod between you when you’ve made a decision together. Those moments guide me more than any checklist ever could.
I’ve seen all kinds of weddings: candlelit winter ceremonies in Hilltop, laughter-filled summer afternoons spilling out into the garden, and quiet mornings where nerves turn into tears of joy. I’ve helped brides into their dresses, calmed grooms who forgot their vows, and carried more umbrellas than I can count. Every wedding is different, and that’s what keeps it special.
I live locally, and I know the rhythm of the Lakes—the way the light changes in autumn, the scent of bluebells in spring. I try to bring that sense of place into the day, gently and naturally. I’m not here to sell anything or push a package. I’m here to help you feel at ease, to make sure the day feels like yours, and to be the person you can rely on when everything else is whirling around you.
If you’re planning your wedding and want someone who’ll walk beside you—quietly, kindly, and with a bit of humour—I’d be glad to help.
I’ve been at Lindeth Howe since 2011, but I’ve been working in weddings for nearly 30 years. I’ve seen trends come and go, weather turn on a sixpence, and nerves give way to joy more times than I can count. There’s very little that surprises me these days—and that’s exactly what couples need.
My role isn’t about taking over. It’s about listening, understanding what matters to you, and making sure the day runs with calm, quiet precision. I’m not one for fuss, but I do believe in care—care in the way the chairs are set, the timing of the music, the way the room feels just before you walk in.
I’ve stood at the back of Hilltop for hundreds of ceremonies, and it still gets me. The hush before the doors open, the way people look at each other when they think no one’s watching—that’s the heart of it. That’s why I do what I do. And yes, the emotion of a wedding day frequently gets the better of me—I’m known to shed a happy tear, especially during the vows.
I take every wedding personally. It’s not just another event—it feels like a member of my own family is getting married. I care deeply about making sure everything is just right, and I’ll always tell you the truth, even if it’s not what you expected to hear. I believe in being honest, kind, and completely on your side.
I also know that no two couples are the same, so no two weddings should be either. Whether you’re planning something traditional, relaxed, or entirely your own, I’ll help shape a day that feels like you—nothing borrowed, nothing forced.
I live locally and know this place inside out. I know where the light falls in the afternoon, when the garden’s at its best, and how to keep things moving when the unexpected happens. I’m not here to impress—I’m here to make sure you feel looked after.
If you’re planning your wedding and want someone who’ll be steady, thoughtful, and quietly on your side—I’ll be there.
