Stratton Court Barn offers an idyllic exclusive use venue for your special wedding day. The property is nestled within 65 acres of stunning private land and formal gardens in the charming North Oxfordshire countryside, near Bicester and Oxford. We pride ourselves in our flexibility and would love for you to make the most of our gardens, grounds, lake, and woodlands.
Facilities and Capacity
The Main Barn is a beautifully intimate space, ideal for exchanging your vows. Built in 1872, it retains many of its original features, including oak beams, a vaulted ceiling, and a striking traditional stone structure, all of which lend a timeless charm to the setting - plus views over the breathtaking countryside. The barn's high ceilings and focal point arch create a stunning backdrop for ceremonies, blending classic elegance with modern touches.
The Byre is our newest space - a breathtaking barn space with a hint of industrial charm. Doors open onto the courtyard and at the heart of the room is a striking fireplace, creating a cosy and inviting ambiance. Whether adorned with round tables or rustic long tables, this unique space seamlessly combines rustic character with contemporary style.
The venue is licensed to hold civil ceremonies indoors, in the Main Barn or The Byre, and outdoors in Ferne Wood, The Courtyard or the Rose Garden. For the ceremonies our Main Barn can host up to 90 seated guests and The Byre up to 130 seated guests, with capacity up to 175 for the evening reception.
Gorgeous Granary cottage is available to stay in on the night of your wedding. The cottage interior matches the classic yet contemporary style of the barn with flagstone floors, wood burning stove, two bedrooms with luxurious double beds, and a wet room stocked with The White Company products.
The Hayloft wedding preparation room, designed in farmhouse-luxe style is the perfect place to get ready on the morning of your wedding from 8.30am. Airy and comfortable, with designer furniture and decor, full length mirrors, phone chargers and private en-suite bathroom, it’s a lovely place to relax and enjoy time with those closest to you while the anticipation builds
Food is at the heart of every wedding, and we are passionate about delicious food that’s prepared using locally sourced and exceptional quality produce. We have six wonderful approved caterers to choose from, each specialising in their own unique field, to ensure you have exactly the type of food you wish to have on your day. For the evening, choose from one of our fabulous tried and tested food trucks or pop ups. Alternatively your chosen daytime caterer may be able to provide this. They offer a complete range from wood fired pizzas to BBQ, paella to street food, plus many other late night snacks to keep your guests going all night long. You are most welcome to bring in your own evening caterers, just enquire with us in advance.
We are proud to offer an outstanding selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and packages. From sparkling wines, to cocktails, presse, spirits, local beers (including Hawkstone), plus our local gins Cotswolds and TOAD, our fully stocked bar will perfectly compliment your day.
Outside the barn you will find a lovely lawn area (hello, lawn games!), landscaped courtyard with a beautiful outside bar and fire pit. Our Rose Garden, woodlands, driveway and grounds make for spectacular photo opportunities.
We are a family run, exclusive use wedding venue who believe that weddings should be fun, relaxed, enjoyable and personal to you. From your initial enquiry through to your wedding day and beyond, one of wedding coordinator’s will be with you every step of the way. They will guide you through planning, booking suppliers, timings for your day, food and drink, final planning meetings on site, decoration setup, table plans as well as everything else required to deliver a seamless experience for you and your guests. On the big day they will be there to assist you from the moment you arrive right though to the party at night.

the perfect venue.
We had our ceremony in the Main Barn, and it was everything we wanted -- intimate and romantic. Through the day, our guests were able to mill around the courtyard and grounds, toasting marshmallows and playing croquet, while the dancefloor in the Main Barn blended seamlessly into the courtyard as night fell. It was exactly what we had had in mind for our day.
What really sets SCB apart, though, is the incredible staff. Our wedding coordinators Charlotte and Taryn were absolutely sublime, responding to every question within hours, constantly trying to accommodate what we wanted. Taryn even managed to get permission for us to have our first dance outside. Taryn went above and beyond in helping us get ready for the day, and she made it so the day caused us absolutely no stress at all: everything just happened without us having to worry about whether the cakes were out, or if the firepit had been lit yet. Taryn, you were better than any review can properly capture, especially in how carefully you ensured I got my walk-in as a bride at the exact moment in the song I wanted. That meant so much to me and Peter.
The bar staff -- particularly night manager Seb -- were equally as professional and helpful, moving all our stuff into Granary Cottage for the night so we didn't have to haul anything around, and even providing tea for us to have after the guests departed. The staff also did the majority of set up and broke down our decorations for us on Sunday morning, which was a godsend for two very tired newlyweds!
SCB is a gorgeous venue run by absolute superstars. Book while you can!!

On the day itself, the staff went above and beyond to ensure everything ran perfectly so we could enjoy our time. We have to call out Taryn, our venue coordinator, who was our absolute legend. Her ability to keep calm and collected was invaluable - she even saved the day by sewing my wedding dress after a mishap during photos!
If you are looking for a venue that truly cares about your day and bringing your vision to life, I cannot recommend Stratton Court Barn enough.

Beautiful venue and incredible staff!
The staff were absolutely fantastic in the run up to our wedding and on the day itself. Taryn was our coordinator, working with us to plan our day and was there on the day too. We felt very at ease when we met her to discuss the big day in a planning meeting a few months before the wedding, and she went through a lot of detail to ensure everything was as we wanted.
The staff worked with us to make the day amazing and Taryn was on hand all day to ensure everything went smoothly. They setup all our decorations for us on the day so we didn’t have to worry about that. Taryn went above and beyond on the morning of our wedding from helping me into my dress, calming my nerves and helping with practice walks down the aisle. Taryn also met my fiancée (now husband) when he arrived and made sure he was okay, had everything he needed and made sure he was as calm and relaxed as possible. She took him to the side for 5 mins with a drink to make sure he was chilled and ready for the day which he really appreciated. She was always on hand to make sure anything that needed to be done was done.
Taryn handed over to Seb the bar manager in the evening who was also very attentive. We stayed in the on-site cottage the night of the wedding which was a lovely addition. It’s a very well maintained property with lots of lovely details. The staff were very thoughtful and took some cake across to the cottage for us and some pizza from our evening food to ensure we got to have some.
We felt very looked after by Taryn and all of the staff and cannot thank them enough for everything they did to make the day as special as it was.

We attended one of the wedding open days and instantly fell in love with Ferne Wood, which is where we ultimately chose to hold our ceremony. We originally started looking for somewhere to host a simple vow renewal after missing out on a traditional wedding during Covid, but Stratton Court Barn inspired us to create something so much bigger. Before we knew it, our vow renewal had turned into the wedding celebration we'd always dreamed of having!
Olivia and Jonny are some of the loveliest people you could ever hope to meet. They have created something truly special at Stratton Court Barn, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found it.
And then there's Holly, our Event Manager.
I work in events myself, and I can honestly say I have never met anyone quite like Holly. She is absolutely exceptional. The amount of care, effort, organisation, and attention to detail she puts into every wedding is incredible. Throughout the planning process she guided us through everything so thoroughly, making sure no detail was missed. She was always available to answer questions, offer advice, and suggest ideas we would never have thought of ourselves.
What amazed us most was how tirelessly she worked behind the scenes. She genuinely cares about creating the perfect day for every couple and goes above and beyond in ways that most people will never even see. Her passion for what she does shines through in every interaction.
Our wedding day was everything we had dreamed of and so much more. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue or a better team to help bring it all to life.
If you're looking for a wedding venue, please go and visit Stratton Court Barn. It is an absolute hidden gem, and we genuinely cannot recommend it highly enough.
A Beautiful Venue
When it came to our actual wedding day, our wedding coordinator, Holly, was absolutely amazing. She was so supportive and clearly loved what she did with her enthusiasm and ideas and was incredibly accommodating, we couldn't have had such a smooth wedding day without her keeping the day on track.
If we could get married again, without a shadow of a doubt we would pick stratton court barn.
The perfect venue for the most perfect day
From the second we visited, we knew the venue was special but we couldn’t have imagined just how much the people would make it what it became for us. The venue itself is honestly breathtaking: absolutely gorgeous, full of character, beautifully cared for, and somehow feels both incredibly grand and completely welcoming at the same time. It was the perfect backdrop for our day and every single corner felt magical.
But what truly makes Stratton Court Barn exceptional is the team.
The owners are so lovely and clearly care so deeply about creating an unforgettable experience for every couple - after we booked we went back months later for an open day and the owners remembered us, which was just such a lovely touch. Every member of staff was incredible - kind, attentive, and so invested in making the day run seamlessly. A special mention has to go to Seb, the bar manager, who was amazing and brought such great energy to the day and night. 10/10 drinks too!
But the biggest thank you in the world goes to Taryn.
We genuinely don’t think our wedding would have been what it was without her. Taryn was everything you could ever hope for in a wedding coordinator and somehow even more than that — fun, affirming, calm, endlessly capable, and possibly the greatest wedding coordinator the world has ever seen.
From start to finish she made us feel completely supported and looked after. She gave us pep talks when we needed them, kept us excited and grounded all at once, and somehow made everything feel effortless even though we know she was working magic behind the scenes all day long.
She arranged the most beautiful set up — walking into the space and seeing everything come together was such an emotional moment because she brought the vision to life even more beautifully than we imagined. She made sure everyone was in exactly the right place at exactly the right time, kept the day flowing perfectly, and handled every detail with so much care.
And perhaps the ultimate proof that she goes above and beyond… she literally put deodorant on for me when I forgot mine and I was already in my wedding dress😂 (please enjoy the picture proof!) That tiny moment somehow sums up the whole experience - she thought of absolutely everything and showed up for us in ways big and small all day long.
By the end of the wedding, Taryn didn’t feel like a coordinator - she felt like a friend firmly in our corner who genuinely wanted us to have the best day of our lives, and because of her and the entire team at Stratton Court Barn… we did.
We cannot recommend this venue highly enough. It is stunning, the team is phenomenal, and if you’re lucky enough to have Taryn coordinating your day, you are in the very best hands ✨

I had been following Stratton court barn on Instagram way before I was even engaged and knew as soon as I was this was the place I wanted to get married! ( I just needed to convince my other half haha ) which he was as soon as we visited! Everything was just perfect, from booking and leading up to the day. Our wedding day was honestly the most amazing day of our lives, the venue is just perfect, every single little detail
. We had Taryn as our wedding coordinator and Taryn just made the day for me, she was there as soon as I arrived and truly felt like my best friend for the day, I couldn’t have done it without her - thank you again Taryn.
I wish I could get married all over again!

The best day of our lives!
We’re especially grateful for how wonderfully the team handled things when my aunt fell ill — they kept us updated, adjusted timings, and made sure everything continued smoothly while keeping us calm and reassured.
A huge thank you to our coordinator Rose and to Seb, who were both incredible throughout the whole day. They were so attentive, detail-focused, and made sure both we and our suppliers were well taken care of.
Choosing Stratton was the best decision — it really was the most amazing day!

Meet the team
As MD I oversee the day-to-day operations of Stratton Court Barn with the help of a fantastic team - and when I'm not at work, I enjoy travelling and the occasional spin in a rally car!
I grew up in motorsports, winning major rally championships - and also run a rally school coaching drivers from all over the world!
As Jonnie’s wife, I help oversee the barn and can often be spotted on the ride-on mower - one of my favourite jobs!
I'm also a keen horse rider and I love travel and family time.
As a 2028 bride myself, and as a self certified Type A bride I am completely into the detail. And I fully understand that planning a wedding is stressful but should definitely be fun too!
I'm extremely detail orientated and love the little touches, so will make sure your wedding is beautiful down to the very last ribbon.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, going to the theatre and spending time with my fiancé and two fur-babies Willow and Maple!
