Dating back to the 15th century, former farm and coaching inn The Plough is the perfect venue to host your country wedding in Eaton, Cheshire. The beautiful Oak Barn dates back as far as the 13th century. Transported to Eaton from its original home in the Welsh hills in the 20th century, the space has been carefully restored to the stunning venue it is today.
Facilities and Capacity
From the red brick home and manicured gardens to the wood-framed barn, you can embrace the beauty of your day in this venue. The medieval Oak Barn is a licensed venue to hold civil ceremonies for up to 85 guests. It can also accommodate up to 115 guests for your wedding breakfast and evening celebration in the barn. With high, vaulted ceilings and wooden beams throughout, the barn lends itself to a romantically rustic atmosphere.

With an idyllic atmosphere, impeccable catering, and the perfect mix of accommodations, the Plough at Eaton offers you the perfect setting for your wedding. The team can cater for both small and large events and will do whatever it takes to make your event as unique or traditional as you wish. When it comes to food, The Plough offers a range of delicious options. This covers everything from tantalizing canapés to delicious meals and old favourites for the evening meal. Accommodations
At the end of the night, you and your guests can kick off your dancing shoes and retire to one of The Plough’s 17 en-suite bedrooms, including double, twin, and family rooms. Each room has been stylishly decorated and is set away from the main building, offering peace and a restful night’s sleep after the day’s festivities.

PERFECT wedding venue
Ryan and I said hes to the venue back in 2023 and for 2.5yrs the wedding team have just been amazing, constant communication, nothing was ever too much trouble, they were quick to emailed back (and I emailed a lot) they keep couples updated with upcoming events (I really recommend future couples attend the menj tasting, was a great evening).
The wedding day went incredibly well, the two coordinators we had for the day kept us in the know of what to expect next, was reassuring me and helping with nerves, and were fantastic with all of our guests.
The venue is absolutely stunning and every couple really can make it their own. I really cannot recommend this venue enough!
Thank you to all the wonderful staff at The Plough Inn, you told a special place in our hearts for providing us with the best day.

The most perfect day
Everything was 5* with The Plough!
The staff throughout the wedding barn and pub are professional yet friendly and fun - the coordinators especially are so kind, courteous and on the ball all day long from helping to keep the nerves at bay in the morning, rallying our guests around throughout the day and building a fantastic atmosphere - they are just fab!
In the lead up, when table plan nightmares were occurring and some things along the way started to get complicated - just a quick chat with the team quickly diminished any worries and we were able to put a plan in place that worked really well (with their years of experience they have the knowledge to help you to curate the most brilliant day that is personal to you and your wedding party).
The food was delicious, all our guests with special dietary requirements (many!) were catered to without any mistakes - the service was seamless - in fact the whole day was seamless. Every course is delicious however pudding always wins with us. It was just the best.
We wish we could do the whole thing again because it just went far too quickly!! We can't speak highly enough of this amazing venue and team
01.09.2025 Brough Wedding
The Plough is an absolute beautiful venue, myself and my now husband was ever so thrilled to be able to have our special day here. The staff were exceptional and helped/supported us through the process and were more than helpful especially when we had to change our ceremony from church to the venue itself. And to be honest it was a blessing as it made the day that extra special and beautiful. I have recommended the plough to friends who are brides to be as the prices, staff and location ticked all the boxes. It was very reasonable on prices of the venue hire/ceremony so that we were able to pay for more personal touches and entertainment for the day. The staff were very tentative even small things such as myself forgetting to print off the vows on the day, the staff did this for me and kept me so calm on the morning of. We couldn't be happier with the day, and the only negative is that the day went too quick! We will definitely be coming back to celebrate our wedding anniversary in their beautiful restaurant as the food does not disappoint! Thank you to all the staff, you were amazing and really appreciate how you made our day so wonderful! Thank you again from Mrs & Mr Brough. x o x

We had the best day ever at The Plough
We first popped over to The Plough, just for a ride out to see where it was exactly, on the 17th of March 2024, and we asked if we could ‘pop’ our heads inside the Oak Barn to have a peek. Oh, my word, what an amazing venue this place is! This was the first venue we went to view, and we both fell in love with it immediately. So much so that we never visited anywhere else!
Our day couldn’t have been any more perfect! The staff are absolutely amazing, they looked after us from the very first day we visited, right through to the time everyone went home at the end of our special day. The food was delicious! We gave our guests two options of what they wanted to eat, and we only found out on the day of the wedding that one of our guests had just been told that week that they had a dietary issue, which meant he couldn’t have the meal he had originally asked for. The kitchen staff had no problem organising a different meal for our guest to suit his dietary needs at the last minute. Every one of our guests commented on how delicious the food was.
All of our guests said that it was an amazing venue and the best wedding they had been to.
Jo and Laurie for everything they did, and to all the staff for making our day so perfect. The whole team were nothing short of amazing, they took everything out of our hands so we could relax and enjoy every moment of our day.

Our Wedding day at The Plough
The night before the wedding my nerves hit with full force, I was having all kinds of thought at what could do wrong and the dreaded aisle walk for me! I could not have been more wrong, everything went perfectly! The staff at The Plough were amazing, I was put at ease straight away at the ceremony.
To all future couples thinking about The Plough as their venue, I fully recommend.. from a very nervous bride! Nothing is too big or too small.
We had so many compliments on the food and how beautiful the venue was.

Meet the team
Our lovely Laurie has been with us for over 10 years and is our fountain of knowledge when it comes to all things The Plough and Weddings.
Not only do all of the staff love her, but so do all our lovely couples, which is why she has been nominated as finalist for the Best Wedding Coordinator for the County Brides North West Wedding Awards.
When Laurie isn't button hole pinning and helping couples plan their perfect day, she is sipping wine and travelling around in her motorhome with her doggy Wilbur.
