Magical and Memorable
By Sally and Darren, on 07 Jun 2016
Our wedding at Llyn Gwynant was magical and memorable in every way. The setting could not have been any more beautiful, and the barns looked amazing. We just loved having all of our friends camped around us for the celebration, and we feel so lucky to have been married in the most beautiful valley in Wales. It was such a unique location, so reflective of us as a couple – we and our friends will never forget it! Thank you Llyn Gwynant!
Cathedral of the Mountains

I find it difficult to put into words how much it means to have had our wedding at Llyn Gwynant. My Dad said something along the lines of (re. Kate and Williams wedding earlier that year), ‘Who’d want to go to Westminster Abbey when you’ve got the Cathedral of the mountains here.’
The staff at Llyn Gwynant Campsite, from our initial enquiry to the wedding weekend, made the experience of booking and organising our wedding a pleasure. The barns provided the perfect space for the ceremony, the buffet, and the ceilidh, and the kitchen was ideal for the catering team. The camping field could easily accommodate all the tents with ample space for children to play, and group photographs to be taken. In our minds, there is nowhere more beautiful and yet accessible, where we would have wanted to get married. The memory of us standing in the camping field, surrounded by our family and friends, encompassed by the mountains of Snowdonia, is one will shall keep with us forever.

Thank you all at Llyn Gwynant campsite for being such an amazing place to hold our wedding! We had an amazing weekend, it was the perfect spot for our wedding. Thank you so much for all your help – everyone we spoke to was so kind and helpful. Thank you for so patiently tolerating our panicking at various last minute things we’d forgotten. The venue is beautiful and so well set up – and works perfectly in rain or sunshine!

Thanks for everything, we had a truly amazing day and it wouldn’t have been the same without the stunning venue. The best things were the flexibility to host our own celebrations exactly as we wanted, and to have everyone stay over on site with us and in our own area away from the other campers. The kitchen facilities were perfect for us to do our own catering. To have someone on site to help us out if we needed anything, the staff were all lovely. The cost is reasonable too as we have a pretty tight budget. A big win with James was to be able to have campfires on site.

We had a fantastic wedding at the barns! The best things were the views, the log fire, the space for campers which also allowed the site to be secluded from the main campsite. Our main reason for choosing the barns was that we were able to arrange everything exactly as we wanted it including catering, alcohol, entertainment and decorations.

The best thing about Llyn Gwynant as a venue was the freedom we had to create what we wanted! The barn really allowed us to start with a blank canvas and create an unique wedding. The space in the barn was the perfect size for what we were looking for, also the fact we could have our own campsite for friends and family. But the best thing about getting married in Llyn Gwynant barn was the location and view, stunning!
Heaven on Earth

Neither of us ever wanted a formal/usual wedding, one day on our way back from a trip up Snowdon we drove past Llyn Gwynant… and we fell in love. It really is a peace of heaven on earth, and was the setting for the best 3 days of our life. Being able to have the wedding we dreamed of without the interference of a big hotel etc was just wonderful. The barn looked amazing (thanks to months of hard work and help from others) and the wedding photos could not have looked more stunning. We both have friends who have never seen the merit of a wedding….. then they came to see us at Llyn Gwynant and changed their minds; it’s how it was supposed to be, instead of how it has now become. We genuinely can not recommend it enough, we are already arranging our reunion at the campsite next year to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you to Rachel and her family, they were all very friendly and helped make it so special xx
Cannot be put into words

The moment we found out the campsite was a wedding venue our hearts were set on it. Our wedding day (not to mention the rest of the weekend) was just amazing, I really cannot put it into words. Everyone pitched in helping to organise, which gave it a communal sense of achievement, the day was unforgettable, and to top it off we had an impromptu BBQ, footy match and swim in the lake to finish the weekend off: I could not have asked for more. AMAZING!

We really appreciated being able to do our own thing, which is precisely why we chose the barns. To have the freedom to choose absolutely everything from the decorations to the wine obviously comes with additional organisational responsibilities, but so many of our guests commented on how personal everything was that the effort was certainly worthwhile. We were also able to relax as everything was to our own timetable and requirements rather than a hotel schedule. We very much felt that it was our day, which was incredibly special.

We had the most wonderful weekend. It’s a truly special location and we really appreciated the discrete support from you all, and all your efforts to make this weekend truly magical.

We were staying at Llyn Gwynant campsite when we got engaged – when we asked could we chill our bottle of celebratory champagne in the staff fridge, we were told that they had a barn which was licensed for weddings! We looked at the venue the very next day while we were there, and never even considered anywhere else.
We could not have asked for a better wedding, Tom and his groomsmen were swimming in the lake on the morning of the wedding, and pretty much the whole wedding party went for a dip the day after. We also hired boats the next day and kayaked and chilled out on the beach. So many people were blown away by the venue, the location, and the whole experience. We encouraged as many of our guests as possible to camp and it made for a fabulous atmosphere. We could not have had a better wedding in any way.
We had an amazing time with you both the wedding day and the day after. Our friend filmed with a drone cam- please take a look at the link below at how amazing the campsite looks from above!

Pete and I met at university through our shared love for hiking and the outdoors, so it was important for us to get married in a beautiful mountain setting. We could not have found a better venue for this than Llyn Gwynant barns, situated near the foot of Snowdon by a spectacular lake. It allowed us to have a relaxed and informal wedding with many of our guests camping alongside us, and we loved having the freedom to choose all our own suppliers and make the day as personal as possible.
Despite the weather all our guests said it is one of the most fun and unique venues they’ve been to. The space provided by the field and barns allowed us to have a bouncy castle, beer festival, ceilidh, sparklers and a rounders game, and some guests even swam in the lake the next day!
The whole team at Llyn Gwynant were fantastic throughout, and we would definitely recommend the venue to future brides and grooms.
