Barn & Farm Wedding Venues in North East - England

We had our wedding at Healey Barn and it was perfect. They are such a friendly bunch of people and have been very quick to reply to our millions of questions via email over the last year! The venue itself is beautiful and barely requires any extra decoration. The ceremony room is stunning, with the fire place and exposed brick walls. The food was incredible and cooked on an open flame in front of our guests in the courtyard. We had pizza for our evening food, again cooked in house using their very own outdoor pizza oven. My husband and I were well looked after on the day, and our guests had a wonderful time. I really couldn’t recommend having your wedding at Healey Barn enough. Thanks for everything!

From the start of the process the team at Doxford was fantastic, answering any question and being really clear the whole time. The planning was so easy with Jess who co-ordinated for us, and the days themselves (we did a 3 day wedding) went so smoothly - the whole team were fantastic. The food was brilliant - definitely a highlight, and the venue is stunning too

From the minute we viewed The Parlour at Blagdon - we knew it was ‘The One’. From the get go staff were warm, friendly and very welcoming. Nothing was ever too much of a problem. The process of booking and planning was very easy and we never felt rushed into any decisions, it was all very much lead by myself and my partner. Our meeting points were personalised to us and very helpful. They really helped us envision our day from day one. Fast forward to our wedding day, and my goodness. Everything and I mean everything went smooth sailing. Our master of ceremony Rachel, was a breath of fresh air and went above and beyond to make sure everything was where it should be at every moment. Our food was stunning, and got lots of good feedback across the board. And every member of staff were fantastic, including Rosanne on the evening! If we could do our day again, there is no doubt we’d choose The Parlour again, and wish we could just stop by and relive the most magical day over and over. We’re currently keeping an eye out for any summer events so we have an excuse to come again. 5 star service, the most magical day from start to finish. I can’t put into words how much we really did love it.

From the moment we viewed the venue we knew it was the perfect setting for our wedding - needless to say we didn't look any further! A compact and intimate venue in the most beautiful location. The whole process was seamless from securing the booking to the final details before our big day. The staff were efficient and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. They maintained professionalism throughout the entire process. Jess took the stress out of the whole planning experience - sourcing suppliers, providing invaluable advice and reassurance and keeping everything on track. We never felt under pressure at any point in the process. On the Friday all the ladies gathered in The Stables (main accommodation) for drinks and nibbles - plenty of space for indoor entertaining. On the day of our wedding Jess and the team worked, almost inconspicuously, to ensure everything went to plan and without a hitch. We didn't worry about anything. On the Sunday we entertained approx 30 guests. The terrace was just perfect and the sun shone down - such an idyllic setting with stunning scenery. Brinkburn certainly met all of our expectations.

Sarah Borthwick was our wedding coordinator and she was so approachable from the very start. She answered any query that we had (lots of them!) and made the wedding process run very smoothly. Sarah wrote everything up which meant we didn’t need to create a ‘wedding file’ or have the stress of sorting all of that. We had such a lovely day and felt like guests at our own wedding, we had time to actually enjoy the wedding and got served canapés and drinks in the room above the aisle so we could have time together before joining everyone else. Runa farm is such a lovely venue and I 100% recommend it. There are so many photo opportunity especially if you do end up with not so good weather which you have to consider when picking a venue.

Words cannot express my love for this place and the people. From our first viewing, it was clear we were a priority. It didn't feel like other places where we would just be another couple, forgotten about after the wedding. The team truly cares and wants this to be about you and your love, no matter what that entails. They were always there to talk through ideas or answer any questions. Every aspect was meticulously cared for. There was nothing too big or too little. The food was absolutely amazing! If you can get yourself to an open night, I highly recommend!! There are no better people in the wedding business than Fiona, Beki, Kayleigh and Becky! You will always hold a very special place in our hearts. Thank you for the most magical memories. On the 9th December 2024, we had our elopement style wedding at The Blackton Grange Estate. The venue is absolutely stunning, nestled in the most gorgeous countryside surroundings and it absolutely ticked all of our requirements for our big day. The venue is a "dry hire", self-catering, dog friendly venue, which was absolutely perfect for us! We had been looking for a wedding venue for quite some time, as we had a few requirements that we wouldn't compromise on. Our dog was the ring bearer, so it had to be a dog friendly venue (tick!). One of our party members required a downstairs disabled friendly bedroom (tick!), and we wanted a private and intimate location, set in the countryside (tick, tick and tick!). The property is vast and fully catered for all of our needs. There were 14 of us staying at the property for 2 x nights and we didn't feel like we were in each others way at all, there were plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms for us to choose from. We made full use of the games room and cinema room and our guests felt really cosy once we had lit the log burner in the living room. Jodi & Stella had decorated the living area with a Christmas tree & decorations. They also set out the furniture for our ceremony the following day, moving all of the sofas to the sides of the room and providing wooden chairs for our guests to sit on. Our ceremony was absolutely amazing on the day, Jodi & Stella arrived to meet with the registrars and to ensure we had everything we needed. Following the ceremony they put the living room back together, whilst we were having our family photos taken outside, so it was an absolutely seamless change over for us. They could not have done enough for us, making sure everything had gone to plan. Communication in the lead up to our wedding was fantastic, Jodi and Stella were very accommodating of our requests, so easy to talk to, we felt like we had known them for years! We used Coghlans catering, who are based locally (and recommended by the venue), to provide us with our meals for the 2 days. This included a meal on the Sunday when we arrived, and everything for the full wedding day. We brought our own drinks and snacks (but there is always an option to get Tesco delivery service delivered to the Estate for your stay). We would highly recommend this venue for a wedding, the house and grounds are absolutely amazing, sadly the weather wasn't the best on our arrival and it had just rained for 48 hours solid beforehand, but on the actual day the sun shined brightly and the photos are amazing. There is a converted barn for bigger wedding parties which we obviously didn't require for our small elopement, but Stella & Jodi very kindly showed us around it and it looks absolutely stunning!! The venue is an absolute credit to the hard work that these two ladies have put into it, long may it continue to be a wedding venue and thank you for letting us be the first couple to tie the knot at Blackton Grange.
