We honestly cannot recommend Humber Barn enough! From the very first moment we started planning our wedding, right through to the day itself, everything was absolutely amazing and beyond anything we could have hoped for.
The venue is beautiful, the food was incredible, and every single member of staff went above and beyond to make our day so special. Everything was organised perfectly, and we felt completely looked after from start to finish.
A very special mention has to go to Sammy, who was truly exceptional. Sammy not only helped us plan our entire wedding, but was also our celebrant on the day. She was absolutely incredible throughout the whole journey — always there to answer questions, offer advice, calm any nerves and make sure every little detail was exactly how we wanted it. On the day itself, Sammy made sure everything ran seamlessly and that we could simply relax, enjoy ourselves and take in every moment. Her care, dedication and attention to detail were genuinely above and beyond.
Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more, and we will always be incredibly grateful to Sammy and the entire Humber Barn team for making it so unforgettable.

We first viewed Humber in February 2025 and met Sammy who has been absolutely incredible from start to finish.
The venue is stunning, the photo opportunities are incredible and the team at Humber were amazing throughout.
The team are attentive and keep your special day moving without you having to think or ask. Our guests gave lots of compliments regarding the food and the team and the venue itself.
We also had the pleasure of staying in the wedding suite which was the perfect way to end our day - just the two of us and the gorgeous views.
As soon as we viewed Humber Barn, we knew there was nowhere else we wanted to get married and I am so glad we chose Humber for our special day.

The best day!
We are so thankful we were recommended the Humber Barn. I remember the day we took a look around, torrential rain, dark and loomy, and I still fell in love with the venue and immediately felt at ease with Sammys warmth. It was like we knew her our whole life.
The venue is gorgeous and has various options for your ceremony indoors and outside. We chose the ‘chapel’. Guests loved the grumpy bar when they first arrived and post ceremony we made our way to the terrace and field area for the most delicious canape boards. Sunshine, umbrellas and hay bayles. Guests commented how beautiful the surroundings were with views or dartmoor and likened it to Devon’s ‘Yellowstone’.
More delicious followed with the roast boards and hog roast in the evening. All fresh from the farm or neighbouring farm. I even caught my ‘vegan’ guest having a hog roast in the evening. Irresistible!
The humber team make the transition from day to evening seem seamless. They moved my flowers from the ceremony to the wedding breakfast, brought my vision to life, and nothing was too much (a running theme you’ll see in the reviews).
Not only do I wish we could repeat our wedding day over and over again, I genuinely miss the planning process with Sammy. I’ll always remember her saying ‘if that’s what you want, and it’s possible, then why wouldn’t we’. There are no bounds to the stereotypical wedding packages, no hidden costs, no inconvenience. The Humber barn allows you to create a day truly bespoke and personal to you, the finest quality, warmth and all at a very good value.
You bet we will be regular visitors to the Grumpy Farmer. Thank you Sammy and your wonderful team x

We got married at Humber Barn, and honestly, it was the best day of our lives!
From the very beginning, Sammy was absolutely amazing. She listened to every idea, understood everything we wanted, and made the whole planning process feel so easy and relaxed. Nothing ever felt rushed, pushed, or too serious. she was always there to help, and before we knew it, the months had flown by and everything had come together perfectly.
The day before the wedding, Sammy introduced me to Ruby, and wow… she was an absolute pocket rocket! She was by our side from start to finish, making sure everything ran smoothly. Between Sammy and Ruby, they knew every little detail inside and out, so we never had to worry about a thing. Their organisation, preparation and support were second to none.
The food was incredible! We chose the hog roast, and let me tell you – it was absolutely gorgeous. So many of our guests commented on how amazing it was. Then the evening pizzas came out, and they were such a treat. They were honestly insane and went down so well with everyone!
We also stayed in The Retreat, just a few minutes from the venue. It was the perfect place to get ready with my bridesmaids. The views were beautiful, there was plenty of space, and it made the morning of the wedding feel so special and relaxed.

The Blackham's Wedding
We got married at Humber Barn in June, and from the very beginning Sammy completely understood the vision we had for our day – calm, relaxed, and full of candid moments. She absolutely delivered!
We had around 160 guests, which is no small task to manage, but everything ran so smoothly. The team had everything under control, and nothing ever felt stressful.
The food was incredible – the hog roast was to die for – and so many of our guests commented on how amazing it was. The staff were fantastic too; nothing was ever too much trouble, and they made everyone feel so welcome.
Our day was everything we hoped it would be and more. So many of our family and friends have said how much they loved the venue, the atmosphere, and the food. Perfection
Sammy at Humber barn was just incredible. She helped us create our dream wedding. Nothing was ever too much for her. Being vegan we had a delicious fully vegan wedding and Sammy produced the most incredible food for us.
The venue itself has such a relaxed vibe and just fitted us perfectly. Guests were able to stay onsite in their fantastic shepherds huts. The ceremony barn is just stunning.

Wedding of our dreams! 26/05/26
Our day was on the 26/05/26 and incredibly hot day! All of the staff were so attentive. We would like to give a massive shout out to Ruby who helped us set up the day before and during the day if there was anything we needed. We had several meetings with Sammy who is absolutely amazing she made us feel at home and nothing was too much trouble, she helped to plan the perfect day. We got to include our 2 labs as ring bearers in their stunning ceremony barn. Humber is an absolute stunning place. We did not want a formal wedding we wanted relaxed and chilled day with a buffet and evening pizza. All of our guests couldn’t get over how good the food was. From our first meeting to our first look on the big day to the breakfast the morning after we could not recommend Humber barn enough.

I can’t even begin to put into words how wonderful Humber Barn and their team is! Sammy made everything possible for us she was literally my fairy godmother throughout the whole process of mine and Josh’s wedding! She and her team went above and beyond for us and completely put me at ease. The Barn setting where we got married in was completely mind blowing and with our guests sitting on hay bales really gave us our dream boho vibe! The food!!! Omg the food was out of this world! Better than I even imagined and perfect for our whole style! We went for a bbq style share board and it really did not disappoint and we still have our friends and family talk about how great it was. Humber Barn will always be a special place for us and we cannot wait to return to the pub for pizza nights! Thankyou for being the most perfect venue for our dream wedding! We are entirely grateful!

From the moment we started planning, Sammy and her excellent team were warm, friendly, reassuring and completely professional. The venue itself is beautiful, the food and drink were fabulous... and plentiful! Absolutely no stingy portions here. The whole day ran seamlessly.

Our March Wedding
There aren't enough words to say how amazing this venue and staff are. We recently held our wedding at Humber Barn, and it truly exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we started planning to the final moments of the celebration, everything was handled with such care and professionalism.
Sammy, Jo & the team were absolutely fantastic throughout the entire process, a special mention to Jemima for helping the groom's party. They were friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything ran smoothly. On the day itself, they were very well organised and made us feel completely at ease, which meant we could relax and enjoy every moment with our family and friends.
The food was incredible, all our guests complimented about how delicious everything was, from the starters right through to the evening meal. The presentation, quality, and attention to detail were outstanding, and it really added something special to the whole experience.

The perfect festive wedding!
We first met Sammy at Humber Barn with no real plan and an idea of a possible Christmas wedding. From this Sammy created the most perfect day for us. The venue is stunning and the smaller ceremony barn was perfect for us plus the grumpy farmer. Every small idea or thought, Sammy elevated and made it happen from an absolutely delicious hog roast banquet to festive appetisers - mini mince pies and yummy mulled cider. All the staff are brilliant, friendly and so welcoming and Sammy is an absolute legend. Nothing was too much trouble and we had the absolute best day.

The best day of our lives 💕
When we booked Humber barn the second ceremony barn hadn’t been done up but by the time our wedding came around it was finished and looked amazing! We decided to get married in here and then have the wedding breakfast in the main barn. Everything went perfectly and nothing was too big an ask, whatever we suggested they found a way of making it happen and we’re so accommodating to us and our guests! They also hosted a superb breakfast the next morning which was a perfect way to catch up with friends/family after an amazing day. Couldn’t recommend them enough, it was just perfect!

Amazing Venue
We had the most amazing day with Humber Barn, we can’t fault their experience, advice and expertise. The venue itself is so beautiful and there are plenty of options for both indoors and outside (which is what we opted for) great views of Dartmoor and the chickens running around made our day! It really felt like a family experience and was exactly what we wanted. Sammy, Marie, Joe and all the team made us feel so welcome and having them share our day was great, especially Sammy joining in on the rodeo bull!
