The best day ever 🥂

Laura and the team at Sandburn Hall went above and beyond to make our day amazing. If you are looking for a wedding venue that does everything then look no further. Your ceremony in the main room, with gorgeous lighting and wooden beams. Then enough space in the room for all of our family and friends at the wedding breakfast, with room to spare and not feeling like you are on top of each other. Then the evening reception with its large area for a dance floor and band. Not to even mention the delicious food. There is also the gardens and grounds for the most beautiful photos . As well as the hotel and lodges. And even a dog kennel down the road.

A special mention to our wedding coordinator Laura. She made our day extra special. No task was too big. She set up all of our tables beautifully and arranged our home made decor around the venue. Her communication was 10/10. She would answer all of those 5 am questions you think of, with no judgement as to how crazy you sounded. You can tell how much she loves her job and wants you to have the best day ever.

I would recommend this venue to anyone who will listen. I hope I get an invite to another wedding here.

The best decision we made!

Where do I even start? Sandburn Hall were absolutely incredible and the best decision we made in our wedding.

We struggled to find the right venue for us - we live far from family and decided to get married near them, which meant we would have a lot of guests travelling. We wanted somewhere in the countryside, with some level of exclusivity, but with options for guests to say onsite or nearby. We really wanted to create a ‘wedding weekend’ and struggled to find somewhere where we could do this that was in our budget.

That was until we found Sandburn Hall! From first looking at the website, we just had a feeling it was for us. The site is beautiful, based on a golf course, well connected to York but still completely out of the way. It had an exclusive area for wedding guests but still plenty of options to go back and visit again, as well as a stunning hotel on site. The prices were open and transparent on their website, and rather than blanket packages everything was really bespoke to what the couple wanted. We booked an appointment and communication was so clear and quick from the outset.

When we visited Sandburn Hall, we immediately fell in love with the views and the surroundings, as well as the stunning rose garden for an outdoor ceremony. The hotel was modern but really kept the Yorkshire country feel, every member of staff we spoke to was warm and welcoming. We loved that there was a restaurant on site that we could come back and visit each year. The Grand Hall had gorgeous natural light and even without being set up for a wedding we could really picture a beautiful summers day there. We booked a summer wedding there and then!

Every communication we had with the venue from then on was so calm, reassuring and so quick. We were allocated Tara as our coordinator about a year before the wedding and oh my goodness, she was an absolute superstar. Every request we had she handled with ease. She answered every question, worked meetings around what worked for us, made adjustments and accommodations to give us our dream day and made the planning process so much easier.

We DIYed a lot of our wedding and when suppliers let us down a few weeks before the wedding, Tara immediately stepped in to make everything happen. The day before the wedding she helped with all of the set up and made the process so much quicker and easier!

Tara understood we really wanted a wedding weekend feel and even gave us the smaller event room for free the night before our wedding so we could have a private meal with all the guests who had come up the night before. She made personalised signage and a great set up. The food and drinks team made an incredible meal, kept the bar open late for us to socialise and it was one our favourite parts of the weekend.

On the day, everything was absolutely perfect. Every request we had the staff made happen. We used both bridal suites and the getting ready room for getting ready and there was so much natural light and plenty of privacy. Breakfast was great for guests and the grooms party in the restaurant and the girls getting ready all had an incredible spread served where we were getting ready, included in the price of the rooms.

We had a stunning set up in the rose garden, which in the summer completely speaks for itself and I would really highly recommend. Tara timed the perfect entrance to my ceremony music and even managed 6 bridesmaids and 4 flower girls! She was waiting at the end of the aisle with a Prosecco to celebrate.

All of our guests completed the beauty of the venue, the food and drink and the helpfulness of the staff. Anything we wanted they made happen. The wedding breakfast was delicious and they allowed us to make adjustments for the top table and guests with extra needs, including a special meal for my grandma with dementia.

In the afternoon they allowed us to borrow a golf cart to go out and get photos, and the night team made the whole evening run smoothly and the party went on late. They understood family politics and even adjusted hotel rooms to help.

Our wedding day would not have been so amazing without all the work of the incredible staff. Everyone there is so kind, clearly passionate about giving a bride and groom the best day and they genuinely care about the guests there. The setting is beautiful, the food is amazing, the facilities are really luxurious and the price is so reasonable for the quality you receive. If anything went wrong on the day, we never even noticed as the team handled everything. It is definitely the best decision we made in the wedding. We are genuinely sad to not have a reason to be going back just yet and are already planning our next event that we could hold there. We cannot wait to visit for our anniversary not only to relieve the moment but to see the people who genuinely feel like friends at this point!

Thanks for helping us organise the most magical day ❤️

Choosing Sandburn was a no brainer, it was the first venue we looked around and none of the rest even compared!

The venue is effortlessly gorgeous, from the extensive glass windows, thick rustic wooden frame to the gorgeous rose garden and sunset. With a venue like this you don’t have to spend a fortune to dress it up, it’s already impressive and we received so many compliments of it on the day.

We also loved how we were with Laura from start to finish, she was our point of contact and was always happy to help. She was so organised and we will miss her lots, she really made our day special!

Also including in your wedding package, which was the cheapest by comparison to a lot of other places, you get to have a taste test of all your food and wine! Great fun and even the fussiest of eaters on our wedding day were happy, which in bulk catering is no mean feat!

Finally the hotel side was absolutely gorgeous, our suite was so much fun to get ready in with my bridesmaids, with breakfast and champagne delivered to the room, you couldn’t beat it! The hotel staff even cleaned up our hair and make up paraphernalia during the day! The best service and most friendly team!

Incredible!

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding day, and it’s all thanks to Sandburn Hall and the incredible team behind it, especially our amazing coordinator, Laura. From the moment we first visited, we knew this was the venue. The setting is breathtaking, with beautiful grounds and bright natural spaces that created the most magical backdrop for our day.

Laura went above and beyond every step of the way. She was always one step ahead, thought of every detail, and made us feel completely at ease throughout the whole planning process. On the big day itself, she was a calming, reassuring presence making sure everything ran seamlessly so we could just enjoy every moment.

Our guests couldn’t stop commenting on how stunning the venue was, how delicious the food was, and how smoothly everything flowed. Sandburn Hall has this wonderful balance of informal and overall gorgeous vibes!

We will forever be grateful to Laura and the Sandburn Hall team for giving us the wedding of our dreams. If you’re considering this venue, don’t hesitate. You’ll be in the very best hands!

The Perfect Venue

We got married at Sandburn Hall in July and we cannot recommend the experience enough. The venue, grounds, hotel, food, and staff are all amazing. The whole experience felt effortless from start to finish and the day itself was nothing short of perfect. The grounds and the venue are absolutely stunning and provide the most beautiful backdrop for your day from the windows in the Grand Hall.

The food was delicious and so many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. The guests also commented on how friendly and helpful the staff were, and how beautiful their hotel rooms were.

Our wedding co-ordinator, Laura, was the best and truly made the day possible. She was so helpful, organised and calm, making sure everything ran seamlessly. She went above and beyond for us and couldn’t do enough to help us make sure the day was perfect. She took all the stress away and made the whole planning process a joy. Laura, we can’t thank you enough for everything you did for us! Laura is so professional and amazing at what she does.

The hotel itself is gorgeous and such a lovely place for our guests to stay. We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful venue or a better team to make our wedding vision come true. If you are searching for the wedding venue, stop now and book Sandburn Hall, you will not regret it!

A Day we both Dreamed about!

We cannot recommend Sandburn enough! We had the most incredible flawless wedding day. Our wedding coordinator Louise understood all of our wishes for the day and made sure it all flowed seemlessly. The whole team were fantastic! The food was delicious! We had the best day and that’s with thanks to this wonderful venue!! 5 Star in every department!

A perfect venue with amazing staff

We were married at Sandburn Hall recently. From the first dealings we had, through until after the wedding, we found every interaction with all the staff to be enjoyable - professional, personal and any communications were responded to quickly, especially Louise, our wedding planner who was absolutely exceptional. On the day, the staff managed the perfect balance between being 'present' but discreet. Then there's the superb food and the grounds which offer not only a beautiful setting for a wedding, but so many superb spots for photographs. Also, several guests stayed at the hotel, and everyone was impressed with the rooms and the staff at the hotel.

Excellence at every step!

We celebrated our wedding at the end of April at Sandburn Hall. Right from the enquiry, to show round and all the meetings/emails up to the day, we felt so well cared for. The team are so experienced, friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.
On the day itself, everything was perfect, running seamlessly. We had a hot buffet and so many people commented on the quality and variety of the food.
The venue is stunning with loads of natural light and looks amazing, especially covered in fairy lights. We honestly can’t find fault. We had the best day ever! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sandburn!

Amazing venue and team

Where do I even begin! I recently got married at Sandburn hall and I cannot even begin to put in to words what a fabulous day it was. The venue its self is stunning, the grounds, the main area and the hotel are wonderful. Katrina and the team were brilliant. The care, professionalism and personalisation they put in to their role to make our day as perfect as can do was second to non. There was not one thing that wasn’t done and everything was done with 100% effort. The resturant and serving and bar staff were also amazing and every guest said how fantastic the food was. We lost count of the amount of people who came up to us and said it was the best wedding they had been to. I cannot thank the team especially Katrina enough for all they did to make our day as special as can be. Thankyou

Beautiful venue

Guests commented on it being the best food they had ever had at a wedding.
The hotel is beautiful too but a little inflexible with allowing guests to check in early if attending a wedding so unable to get ready at hotel before ceremony.
Also venue chairs are not very nice so we hired different ones. A lot of add ons such as twinkly lights and chairs etc

Really enjoyed our wedding at Sandburn

We had our wedding reception at Sandburn Hall recently after multiple delays due to Covid, and got legally married there a year before. Sandburn were wonderfully organised and handled the delays very well, and on the day - despite lots of Covid scares etc. - everything came together fantastically, and we were very well looked after. We had been slightly put off early on finding that certain things like the nice chairs and lighting seen in the brochure had been handled by other suppliers (with an additional cost) but in the end it wasn't a problem and we're really glad that we chose Sandburn. All of our guests were very complimentary and really enjoyed the day, and the hall and grounds looked beautiful - we even got some great sunset shots outside.

The perfect wedding venue

From the moment I stepped in to the event hall, I knew I wanted to have my wedding there.
All of the staff, from first booking down to after the wedding, were professional and flexible with requests. We had the wedding breakfast BBQ followed by an evening buffet. Vegetarians and allergies were catered for easily, and everyone loved the food. Everyone was so attentive throughout the day.
