Outdoor Wedding Venues

There are so many great reasons to hire an outdoor wedding venue - from the amazing views offered to the ability to transform such a wide open space. We’ve got the best outdoor wedding venues in the UK for you to browse here.

What is an Outdoor Wedding Venue

An outdoor wedding venue is any venue that has outdoor space to celebrate your wedding day in. Whether that’s space for a romantic outdoor wedding ceremony, an al-fresco drinks reception space or even the ability to host your evening reception out in the open air.

Why Consider an Outdoor Wedding Venue

An outdoor wedding venue is a great way to really make the most of your surroundings. If you’re getting married in the summer, an outdoor wedding ceremony is a great way to make the most of a beautiful day and guarantee a stunning setting for your vows.

Outdoor drinks receptions are also popular as they give everyone plenty of space to mingle and the chance to get some air if it’s hot! It’s also a great way to entertain your guests, if your venue has outdoor space for an ice cream truck or some garden games.

Outdoor wedding venues also offer plenty of choice when it comes to your wedding photography. If your chosen venue has beautiful grounds, you and your partner will have lots of beautiful backdrops for your photos and will easily be able to disappear off for a little bit for some more romantic couple shots without all your guests watching!

What to Consider with an Outdoor Wedding Venue

There are a few things to think about if you want an outdoor wedding - namely, the weather! Ask the team at your chosen wedding venue what their back-up plan is if the weather isn’t great. Your venue should have alternative settings for things like your ceremony and drinks - make sure you’re happy with these just in case it rains.

You should also provide some extra measures for your guests if you’re planning an outdoor wedding so they are prepared and looked after - consider a basket of flip flops if you know your guests are likely to arrive in heels and have to stand on grass, and ask your outdoor wedding venue if they provide umbrellas or a gazebo or marquee for shelter if your guests need to be outdoors at any point.

Finally, it’s a nice touch to provide a basket of cosy blankets if part of your wedding is to be outdoors just in case it’s a bit breezy or you have any guests who feel the cold!
