We booked the Shropshire as its not only beautiful but caters for smaller weddings, we only wanted around 40 guests and they have great packages for more intimate days that other vendors don't.

Throughout the planning the team were excellent, they were very transparent with costs and we had no surprises with our budget.

The day itself was magical, as most brides, I'd been very specific about how I wanted things and nothing was to much trouble. They enabled me to havr lunch delivered to me and my Bridesmaids late morning, ensured everything was on schedule and were ensuring every detail of the space looked immaculate.

The food was amazing, we had a 3 course wedding breakfast with the only choice for our guests being a vegetarian option and everyone loved the food,empty plates everywhere.

We gave our guests a drinks token instead of putting wine on the tables and the bar prices when I settled the tab were very reasonable. We also had some people who didn't drink - myself included as a pregnant bride and the provided non alcoholic prosecco for both arrival drinks and toast to us that needed it which was a lovely touch.

They provided a golf buggy for us to go and have evening wedding photos on the golf course which was amazing.

Evening buffet went down a treat with pork baps! They were so generous with portions so we felt great value for money.

We used their DJ they bring in (AJs Disco) and he was great, such a lovely man who who even went round handing out wedding cake to make himself useful bless him. Even with only 40 guests he got the Party going and it was a fantastic night of dancing and partying!

We feel incredibly satisfied with how our day went, we had the prefect day, The Shropshire staff made us feel they cared very deeply about our day and making sure it went perfectly.

Cannot reccomend them highly enough.

Had our wedding here at The Farmhouse and it was such a lovely day!

Positives:
- Lovely venue, plenty of space for our 40 guests
- The food was really tasty - had lots of compliments from our guests on this
- The staff there was really friendly and helpful.
- The team were organised during our pre-wedding meetings
- We were able to create a bespoke package that fit around us (e.g., timings, portion sizes, our entrance, a main and dessert not three courses).
- Worked well with our people (i.e., photographer, Sorella decorators)
- Helpful advice on how to have a bar tab for guests to choose a drink themselves on us

Things to consider
- We asked for less buffet food in the evening and there was still a lot left! Maybe something for the venue to consider r.e., portion sizes
- The people you speak to changes at different stages. This was a bit confusing at times, and tricky if people were on leave, but it all worked out ok on the day.
- Make sure to keep in contact with them and be pro-active if there is anything specific you require on the day

Lovely day for us and our guests. We will definitely be coming back again for some more tasty food!

Where to start? We had THE best day ever!!
Nothing was to much trouble from start to finish, the team went above and beyond on our wedding day. Being in the catering trade myself I had very high expectations but the whole team exceeded this and more.

We held our wedding Saturday and it was the best day of our lives, I'm still so overwhelmed now. Venue was perfect and picturesque we had a lot of compliments on how beautiful the venue was.

If you want to book a wedding where the venue caters to your day and bends over backwards to make your day fantastic look no further.
Sam and Kate did everything plus more to make sure our day was perfect in every way.
Anything that didn’t go to plan or was wrong they sorted it out before we even knew there was a issue and if it wasn’t for these and the amount of effort they put in the day would have turned out worse.
All the staff are fantastic and the amount of compliments on how good the food and buffet was from all the guest.

I felt there wasn’t much communication to the buildup of my wedding reception, but I feel on the day they were very welcoming supportive and would do anything for us. The DJ was fantastic. The food was amazing. Oh my guest was happy. The only thing I would say is we had to pay at the bar card payment only which not everybody was happy with

Celebrated our wedding day september 2023… the staff are a credit to the venue nothing was to much of an ask! The day was perfect in every way and i cant thank them all enough! Highly recommend the venue and guests still talking about how amazing our day was! The food was stunning we had roast dinner and there was plenty of food available so much so evening food was barely touched from being so full!

We had the most incredible day at the Shropshire celebrating our special day! From the first time we set foot in the shropshire and till our wedding day nothing was too much trouble for all the staff. Sam was amazing on the day making sure everything was going to plan and organising everything for us we did not need to worry about a thing. Many of the guests complimented on how nice the food was. The grounds are lovely for wedding photos with the added extra of the golf buggies. There is not one part of the day I would change it was perfect from start to finish! We would highly recommend the Shropshire to spend your special day.

We had an amazing day at The Shropshire. We got married at a local church and we weren't sure what time we were going to arrive as it was weather dependent where we would have our pictures. This was no issue at all. Staff were available at all times without being in the way, Kate and Sam both kept in contact with us throughout the day and made sure everything ran seamlessly behind the scenes.

We were even able to go out onto the course on golf buggies for pictures!

Everyone commented on how amazing the food was, and it was lovely to be able to give our guests the choice of different meals, many guests struggling to chose as they wanted more than one! We had many people with allergen requirements, all were met with respect and care. We cannot thank the team enough.

Where do I start?!

We had a list of local venues we were found to view which we’d booked via Hitched, with The Shropshire being our first.
As soon as we were welcomed and shown The Farmhouse by Steph we were sold! We were having around 50-80 guests so decided to book the Farmhouse without the marquee.

With their packages it was easy to see the pricing and they were also able to offer the most stunning menu choices that could be made fully vegan as we wished.

We booked our day 9 months prior and got all the suppliers we wanted.

We then had a couple of meetings with Steph & Sam before the day to finalise things and Sam made us feel so comfortable that the staff would set up our decoration, tables etc in the morning without us having to worry about any of it.

The day came!

I was greeted by Sam who coordinated the whole day, timings and made sure things we wanted happened when we wanted them to. The hospitality staff were exceptional, even finding our one gluten free guest to ensure she was fed correctly and calling her by her first name for the rest of the day. This was massive for her, having been the ‘spare awkward’ gf guest at so many weddings before!

The food itself was stunning. I had so many guests moan about ‘vegan’ food before the day but we stuck to our wishes. It was incredible and I’m not exaggerating when I say every single guest walked past our table during the meal to say how beautiful it was- they were genuinely shocked it was vegan.

A couple of our guests were drunk and made a bit of a mess, but again, no drama it was just dealt with.

The highlight of our photography was taking the golf buggy up to the view point overlooking Lilleshall monument- wow! Literally breathtaking and such a wonderful part of our day.

We did a lot of planning etc in the run up to the day, but I have to say that The Shropshire and Sam’s coordination brought it all together for us.

If anyone is looking for a venue in Shropshire with stunning scenery, outdoor seating, marquee options, private bar, stunning food, great venue team and at a reasonable cost…absolutely look at The Shropshire.

I can’t pass on enough ‘Thankyous’ to Sam & the team for making our day just perfect. ❤️

The Shropshire exceeded all expectations on the day of our wedding. The staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble! All our guests commented on the great quality of the food throughout the day. Sam who lead our day was very calming at the start for myself and new hubby and also the personal touch for us with keeping our children (4 and 2 years old) in the loop too, keeping them calm. Words can’t express how grateful we are for all the venue and staff did for us on our big day! 100% recommend The Shropshire to all

I don’t know what to write to express how utterly amazing the staff at The Shropshire are. They made our day everything we wanted & more. Everything went without a hitch - everything was done and done better than we imagined, we didn’t have to worry about a thing. We could just enjoy our day and put all our trust in the staff - they were amazing. The venue is beautiful, all of our guests commented on how delicious the meal was (as well as the evening buffet!!! Everyone loved it), the rooms were decorated just how we wanted and better. They just went above and beyond. I couldn’t recommend this place more - it’s perfect.
