Barn & Farm Wedding Venues in South West - England

We held our wedding here in early September and can only give Secret Valley the highest praise! We probably went into the 'full DIY wedding' set up a little naively as there is a lot to consider and organise, but the result was a fully bespoke wedding weekend with everything exactly how we wanted it. The site is stunning and so large that the possibilities seem endless. The majority of our guests stayed on site Friday - Sunday and we made full use of all the facilities on offer, we hosted pizza and quiz night in the Games Barn, a 5K park run, lake swimming, and were lucky that the weather held to have our ceremony and reception drinks down by the lake and oak tree. Lucy, Will and the team were super easy to communicate with throughout the year and on the week of the wedding were so helpful, particularly in receiving various deliveries onsite before we arrived. All of our guests commented on how unique the venue was, it really felt like a personal festival. We are so excited that we will be able to return to this special place in the future to remember our wedding.

Old oak farm where do I begin! This venue is beyond stunning! I have been watching old oak for a long time and couldn’t wait to see the venue. When we arrived the venue was still in building mode but we could see the potential from then and knew that was the perfect place for us to get married. The whole process has been easy, great communication and lots of support. We had a few meetings and each time the owners were lovely, really friendly and helpful, we spoke about what sort of things we wanted and Rebecca really helped us with ideas and offered us her props and decorations, we went through all the food options and running of the day, there were some many things to choose from which was lovely as I left feeling more together and organised. The day of the wedding the venue was just perfect, the set up was everything we had wanted and more. When I arrived the owners and staff were all there ready and willing to help. After the ceremony the staff were there being attentive giving out drinks and our canapés. We went off for photos but when we came back we had sliders presented to us which was a nice touch as I know sometimes the bride and groom can get forgotten whilst they aren’t there and there’s nothing left when they get back. Though out the day the staff were amazing always there to help but at the same time they were very discreet which again is another great attitude. We had a buffet style meal which was absolutely beautiful, as our meal was served Rebecca came with a separate plate for me (I hadn’t noted down my food preferences when I had done the other guests but Rebecca had picked up on it during our pre wedding conversations, which was a really lovely touch with a attention to detail). This happened again in the evening, we had homemade pizzas which my husband couldn’t have, the staff checked in with him asking if he wanted his separate order, he wasn’t ready so they checked in shortly after making sure he wasn’t forgotten and no one else got his dish. The venue was kept clean and tidy all day but again without us even knowing, the day ran like clockwork and Rebecca and her staff checked in making sure we were happy or needed anything though out the day. We had so many compliments about how beautiful the venue was, how attentive the staff were, how clean the venue was especially the toilets which everyone loved. As for the food everyone was so impressed, the vegetarians said it was nice that they received their food first because they often feel like an afterthought or forgotten. Everyone said it was the nicest wedding food they had ever had with lots of choice and variety and that there plenty of it. It was the same for the evening meal the fresh cooked pizzas cooked outside went down a treat. The night of the wedding we stayed at the venue, again there was so much attention to detail in the room, lovely robes and mr and Mrs cups, bubbly, biscuits and strawberries then croissants for breakfast and the quaint Little lodge was tucked out of the way and just beautiful. The following morning the staff and cleaned up and packed all our stuff up making it really easy for us to pack up. We had such an amazing day, it was everything we wanted and more and that’s all thanks to old oak farm and their amazing staff, we can not thank you enough for being so attentive and amazing, we wouldn’t have wanted to have our wedding anyway else it was just perfect, you should be very proud of what you have created and the work you do. Old oak is absolutely stunning with its pure attention to detail it really is beautiful. The communication, support and flexibility has been spot on. On the day we were well looked after, the staff were brilliant, there but discreet, very friendly and approachable, great customer care. The venue was beautiful, so clean and tidy all day, the toilet received lots of compliments about how nice they were as well as always clean. The whole process has been a breeze, I really enjoyed planning our wedding with old oak farm, I really lovely, unforgettable experience.

The Old Down team made our wedding experience perfect from start to finish. Charlotte and her team were so super helpful and supportive giving us all the clarity we needed on the day and in the run upto to it. The food was fantastic and all the wonderful little details Old Down put in really helped make our day all we dreamed it would be! Would highly recommend Old Down to any couple looking for a bright, magical and personal venue!

From the moment we viewed the barn (our first and only choice!) it was stunning. The attentive staff created a cosy intimate atmosphere, instantly winning us over. Their communication throughout the process was impeccable, especially our coordinator Ashleigh. She was fantastic and incredibly grateful for her help before and on the day. No question was ever too much for them! They’ve thought of everything from their online wedding planner section and supplier days to accommodation. I highly recommend this venue and the team. Our day itself was simply perfect from beginning to end!

We can’t say enough good things about Milton End as a wedding venue. We got married there in September 2024 and are so glad we chose it as our venue. Having exclusive use for the whole weekend was amazing and gave us extra time to relax and enjoy being with our guests. Holly, our wedding coordinator, was fantastic and made everything run so smoothly. We loved the relaxed atmosphere, especially the animals wandering around to greet our guests! We are so grateful to Milton End and our suppliers for giving us the most perfect wedding day. We absolutely loved our time there and couldn’t recommend it more highly. Wish we could do it all again!

25/09/25 - found Priston mill on Hitched - it was the first place we viewed and booked straight away! We didn’t view anywhere else. The place is gorgeous, very reasonably priced and all the staff were amazing. We were assigned a coordinator who was with us during the planning meeting, the set up and the day (Johanna!) and she was so friendly and helpful and made everything super easy! Priston mill were quick to respond and have everything thought of and just get things done taking all stress away. We were so impressed with the space and they collaborate well with all vendors making everything come together nicely. The waiters were friendly and professional. The food was glorious and had many compliments (thank you chef!). Would fully fully recommend!!

My partner and I were married at Hyde House on the 14th of April '25, and we had the most incredible day here. The staff were absolutely fantastic throughout the day, coordinating the day and making sure everyone was catered for and happy. The venue is truly beautiful, and we had so many wonderful comments about it throughout the day. The planning elements were wonderfully planned by the team and they helped us create our dream wedding. My wife especially is thankful for them helping her with her nerves throughout the day by being so personable. We could not recommend this place enough, it's a truly magical venue.

Great Tythe Barn was an amazing venue for our wedding. It is absolutely beautiful, has plenty of space both inside and out, and was perfect for our winter wedding. We loved the fact that us and lots of our guests could stay on site, and this made for a really social atmosphere, and meant we could continue the party in our accommodation even after the bar closed. Also the refurb of the wedding barn and accommodation made the space even nicer, and our guests really enjoyed our Cotswold wedding. The staff were brilliant in the lead-up to our big day, and were really responsive to communication which was so helpful as we had lots of questions. No wonder they have won multiple awards! Thank you so much to Hannah, Tracey and the team.

We recently had our wedding at Cripps and everything was beyond incredible! From the initial tour, to the booking process, the ongoing support, the tasting night and of course - our actual wedding day! Every thing was smooth from start to finish, they were always helpful and efficient when we had any questions and our wedding day was more than we could have ever dreamed of! Absolutely everything was perfect and all our guests had the most magical time. Zoe and Emily were incredible in making sure everything was perfect for us, and all the staff were just fab. Guests even commented on how lovely it was to see that the staff enjoyed their jobs and how friendly every waiter was during our meal. The food was delicious and everything we pictured was brought to life and was made to look even better than we could have imagined! We want to say the biggest thank you to all that helped make our wedding what it was, we wish we could do it all over again!

The location is breathtaking, with gorgeous views that created the perfect atmosphere. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we could not have imagined a better day.
