We got married here 2 weeks ago and it was absolutely perfect. Tailored exactly to what we wanted and so much more. Fantastic rural wedding celebration. We had the most exciting day. The whole experience was awesome. The wedding marquee was so beautifully decorated, with twinkley lights and flowers all around. The food was delicious and so much of it! The staff were so friendly and relaxed and made everyone feel like they’d had a special day.

Such an amazing venue! I had the honour of attending the Gould wedding last weekend, it was an incredible day, full of joy, which was made even better by the attentive staff and cute animals. The venue is well maintained and the food was incredible. Very highly recommended!

They definitely went above and beyond to make our day one to remember, right from our first visit nearly 2 years ago until yesterday nothing has been too much trouble, organised to perfection, constant updates and happy to accommodate any changes. Lisa and Phil (and team) not only are they lovely people, their care, professionalism, and kindness go above just being a wedding venue. A beautiful location, helpful, happy, and patient staff, and great friendly animals, even an impromptu 🐐 who fancied being my bridesmaid's which was absolutely amazing. I cant wait for my photos to add to this review
If you are looking for a rural, outdoor, friendly and professional venue it definitely worth it

We got married on the 29th June 2024 and this venue was INCREDIBLE! Lisa and Phil were amazing! From the moment we booked with Blackwater Farm Lisa was enthusiastic, and excited about how we wanted our day. We had 2 visits to the venue to see and to envision what we wanted and how we wanted it. We were utilising the TeePees when we booked however, This got upgraded to Shepards huts which our guests loved! As the bride and groom we got upgraded to an airstream with a 2 person jacuzzi which after the big day was most deffinalty needed :).

The big day itself Lisa and Phil were just on the ball continously, they were attentive and kept everything running smoothly so we didn't have to worry about anything. The food was full of flavour and endless throughout the day and evening. Noone left hungry!
We got to interact and have photos with the animals, the children got to feed the lambs, we had a fire put in the evening with roasted marshmallows. Honestly there was something for everyone!
The morning after we had a breakfast where the majority of our guests came back and again the food seemed to be endless and I don't believe there was anything left.
Lisa and Phil had also helped take down decorations and compile all our belongings that got left all over the place, there was no rush what so ever.

The whole experience was wonderful, really relaxed and the staff they had to help were friendly and polite and happy to talk to you,

Where do we start?! We came on to hitched as we were trying so long to find somewhere to host our reception and were at the end of our tether and sent out a cry for help as a last resort, we didn’t know you could actually do that on here. Anyway 10 minutes later I received a message from Lisa and Phil at Bridle and Groom.

It was surely divine providence as after having a 30 minute call with Lisa I was jumping around for joy and couldn’t wait to tell my fiancé as it was exactly everything she had always wanted. Sheep, donkeys, hay bales, marshmallows, local food, sustainability, an original canvas marquee (no plastic rubbish), fairy lights, the works. I was gobsmacked and when I told my partner she was over the moon.

Throughout the time between contacting these guys and the actual event Lisa was amazing with her communication. Every question asked (many times repeated) was answered quickly and with infinite patience. Things to be added that we forgot were not a problem. Accommodating is an understatement for Lisa and Phil, they are just amazing people who bend over backwards to make your day as special as it can be. They love what they do and it shows.

Fast forward to the actual day and words cannot express how amazed we were. The tables, the flowers, the cake, the venue…everything was just exceptional and all done by Lisa and Phil. Their staff are spot on and so attentive. The next day they also provide a breakfast whether you stay on site or not and want to go back for a get together and a good talk and trust me, the breakfast is awesome. We actually gave up our hotel breakfast so we could go back down to the farm to buy theirs. Nearly all the ingredients are theirs and it shows and I have never been offered so many sausages and bacon before! The reception and the breakfast, there was more food than you could ever eat.

For the price they charge you can see that they do this not just to make money but because they get joy from giving people the best day of thier lives. The value for money is just unbelievable.

We were so sad when it ended because we had such a fantastic time but we have gone back to see them and thank them. We wanted to have a catchup and they were pleased to see us and listened to us jabber on about how good the evening was.

To end this review I just have to say that if you are looking for an informal wedding and reception venue, are animal lovers and like traditional weddings and prefer a relaxing rather than stiff back wedding party then this is the place for you. It was just everything we wanted and more and it was perfect. We cannot recommend them enough and if you’re in two minds, don’t be. Just book it, you will not be disappointed!

We got married at Bridle & Groom in August, and I cannot put into words how incredible Lisa, Phil and their team are. They were so helpful every step of the way, no detail was missed. They helped guide us with decisions we were struggling on, and helped bring our personalities to our wedding to make it unique to us. They made our wedding so fun, unique and perfect for us. She even went above and beyond to help incorporate some incredibly sentimental and emotional belongings in a beautiful way. I will recommend them to anyone and everyone who needs a venue! I still feel the flutters when I think of how perfect our wedding was. Thank you both x

I was so lucky to find this hidden Gem! It's rustic & beautiful and most importantly it fit our budget. We got so much Value for Money. Lisa made the whole planning so easy it was like having a friend help you every step of the way. She took care of everything. She made everything so personal and special,

We had our dream wedding here at Blackwater Farm! The manager, Lisa, and her team went above and beyond to help us achieve an amazing day at very short notice. The venue is extremely rustic and picturesque, with a side helping of adorable farm animals - great for your photos! We couldn't be happier and wholeheartedly recommend Blackwater Farm for your special day!!

I found this Venue on Hitched for my wedding this year as a first wedding for them and only 12 week notice they pulled off an absolutely spectacular day, that was most definitely the best of our lives. Lisa and Phik went the extra mile to make our day Perfect and they had every little detail Covered. But best not Forget the Chef Helen cooked up a storm for our wedding breakfast and they even made our Cake and Bouquets. We would highly recommend this beautiful venue to anyone wanting a country wedding.
