Explore the Venue
Our beautifully refurbished Threshing Barn provides a stunning and versatile setting, comfortably seating up to 70 guests, with an adjoining decking area for an additional 20 during the summer months. The venue hire includes essential furniture, cutlery, crockery, linen, and glassware, along with seasonal wildflower table décor, giving your wedding a touch of River Cottage charm.
For larger celebrations, we can arrange additional marquees in our picturesque meadow, accommodating more than 70 guests. Your guests will enjoy exploring our charming Kitchen Garden, perfect for outdoor ceremonies, while our stunning 17th-century farmhouse serves as a cozy retreat for intimate gatherings or overnight stays. With ample space for dining, dancing, and relaxation, River Cottage provides a delightful backdrop for your dream wedding.
A Feast to Remember
Food is at the heart of everything that we do. All of our wedding menus feature the finest, seasonal, organic ingredients, which we source from local farms and fishermen, as well as using produce grown and reared here at River Cottage.
No wedding menu is the same. During the planning of your wedding, we will arrange for you to meet with one of our talented chefs, where you will collaborate and design your bespoke wedding menu featuring your favourite dishes! You can also choose from our carefully selected drinks range, including a fantastic selection of organic and biodynamic wines, seasonal cocktails and mocktails and much more.

You are truly in safe hands with our Wedding Coordinator, Lucy, who will plan and manage your special day. With her expertise, Lucy will help you design a celebration that stands out. From a River Cottage wedding cake to games, cocktails, drink pairings, and tailored evening snacks like wood-fired pizza, we promise your day will be uniquely yours—unlike any other.

The Perfect Small Wedding
From start to finish, the day felt effortless, joyful, and full of thoughtful touches. River Cottage completely captured the relaxed, meaningful atmosphere we wanted. It was intimate, beautiful, and completely unique to us.
The food was simply outstanding — every dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. None of us could agree on a favourite because everything was so good!
We also loved how the day flowed so naturally. Garden games added a fun, playful energy, and the setting gave us the space to enjoy each other’s company in a calm and beautiful environment. It felt like a true celebration of love and family.
River Cottage embraced our small group completely — listening to our stories, joining in with our family traditions, and making us feel so at home.

Wonderful experience start to finish!
The perfect venue
River Cottage think of everything, and you can decorate as much or as little as you need. The barn is beautiful without any additional set up or decorations, plus the venue provide fresh flowers cut from their own garden for the tables. The food was amazing! We had a vegetarian menu, which we planned with the head chef - no one missed meat, and even our fussiest of eaters cleaned their plates. We have had so many compliments from our guests, who loved the food and enjoyed a fun, chilled out day.
Lucy, the Wedding & Events Coordinator, is such a wonderful, friendly human. She totally got us, and it was an absolute pleasure to have her help organise and run our day. All the other staff were super friendly and accommodating as well.
What we also love is that you can go back to River Cottage even after all the excitement and the big day is over! It’s not just a wedding venue, so we can go back and make even more memories in a place that has such a special place in our story.

More than we could have wished for
From day one of planning our wedding, the team responded so quickly to all of our millions of questions, none of which seemed to phase them, and everything we had asked for was just simply done! They knew what to do to make it an incredible day! Our day felt unique to us, but the team were so well organised you could tell they'd had done this many times before, but taking just as much care each time.
Every guest said how incredible the food was, and we knew it would be, but we didn't imagine how good it would be! One of our suppliers had forgotten to send specific vegan truffles we had asked for as wedding favours, but when I told River Cottage this, the day before the wedding, they had made hand-made truffles for our vegan guests! We didn't expect that or even ask that, they just did it and it was the little things like that which made it so perfect.
All day we both felt at complete ease and most importantly we both felt like we trusted the team to get everything right and they did, and more! So really we can't thank them enough as we both have the most wonderful memories of a lifetime! And our guests do too, my sister said that was the best wedding she has ever been to!
