At Runa Farm, relaxed Spanish influences augment the venue's rich farming heritage to create earthy, elegant, and beautifully immersive spaces. The ornate tented ceiling, smooth polished stone walls, statement staircase, and shimmering lanterns of the Runa Farm Chapel combine to create a wonderfully ethereal effect.
The Old Barn is the perfect setting for eating, drinking, and merriment. This delightful timber and exposed stone building is brimming with character and is flanked on two sides by picture-perfect private terraces that will make you and your guests feel like you're living in a dream. Perfection
A special mention to Ian (master of ceremonies), who is an absolute credit to Runa Farm, I don’t think he could’ve made our lives any easier on our wedding day, done anything more for us or been any more brilliant, he is your biggest hype man and support all in one.
The ladies that set up the venue and go through all the last details with us were also fantastic, ensuring everything was as we wanted it and if we weren’t sure, they always had suggestions to make things perfect.
We had the most special day, that ran perfectly, none of which would’ve been possible without the incredible staff.

We just wanted to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Runa Farm for making our wedding day so incredibly special.
From the very first visit, we completely fell in love with the chapel, the relaxed atmosphere, and the beautiful surroundings. Every member of staff we met was so friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and nothing was ever too much trouble.
From the wedding showcase to the many visits we made beforehand, everything was handled with such care, attention to detail, and professionalism. Everyone consistently went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and we always felt completely looked after.
The wedding day itself was an absolute dream and genuinely the best day of our lives. A huge thank you to Kelsi, our wedding manager, who was so calm, kind, and reassuring throughout the day and made sure everything ran seamlessly. We also have to give a special mention to Ian, who was an absolute legend. All of our guests loved him and have said they want him to look after their own weddings in the future!
The whole day ran like clockwork and we had absolutely no stress whatsoever and that’s even when one of our vendors didn’t turn up. Your team handled the situation so smoothly that it had no impact on our day at all, and we are so grateful for that.
Everything about the day exceeded our expectations and truly felt like the wedding we had always dreamed of. We honestly cannot thank you enough for making it all possible and creating memories we will cherish forever.

Runa Farm Delivered a Wedding Day We'll Never Forget 💖
First and foremost, the team at Runa Farm were absolutely outstanding. From the bar staff and waiting team to our wedding managers, Kelsey and Amy, everyone went above and beyond to make our day special. A particular mention has to go to Maya, who seemed to be doing about twenty different jobs at once throughout the day and evening, all with a smile on her face.
Ian, the Master of Ceremonies, was fantastic. We first met him when we came to view Runa Farm and he immediately made us feel special and valued, despite also being busy coordinating a wedding that day. Throughout our entire journey, every member of the venue team was warm, welcoming and genuinely invested in making our day the best it could be. We had countless comments from family and friends about how brilliant the team were.
The venue itself is simply stunning. We viewed a lot of venues before booking Runa Farm, and nothing else came close. It hardly needs any decorating, the spaces are beautiful, and the team are very accommodating when it comes to tailoring the day to suit you as a couple.
We also stayed in the Farmhouse the night before the wedding and would highly recommend it to other couples. Whilst it is an additional expense, it took away the stress of finding somewhere else to stay and allowed our entire bridal party to spend the evening together before the big day. It was a lovely experience and made the start of our wedding celebrations feel even more special.
The wedding day itself was organised like a well-oiled machine. Everything ran smoothly, and when our external photobooth supplier failed to turn up, the team very kindly stepped in and lent us the venue photobooth. We genuinely can't thank them enough for that.
The only area where our experience could have been improved was the planning process through the external wedding coordinator based at Apartment Group head office. Alysha was always helpful when we had questions and did support us throughout the planning process. However, we found parts of the experience quite sales-focused, with communications often centred around additional upgrades and extras. We completely understand that these options form part of the wedding journey, but as a couple working to a tight budget, it sometimes felt a little disheartening.
Our final planning meeting, which was scheduled for two hours, lasted around 40 minutes and felt more rushed than we had expected. Whilst we covered everything that needed to be discussed, we left feeling a little disappointed. After spending months planning one of the biggest days of our lives, we had hoped for a more personal conversation about our wedding. Instead, the meeting felt quite scripted and transactional at times, as though we were moving through a checklist rather than discussing a day that was unique to us as a couple.
We also experienced some delays at the beginning of the process, having to chase for our contract and coordinator details after paying our deposit, which was frustrating given we had been encouraged to secure our date quickly.
Importantly, these issues were with the central coordination process rather than the team at Runa Farm itself, who were exceptional throughout.
Our wedding day was everything we hoped for and more. The venue is beautiful, the on-site team are a real credit to Runa Farm, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other couples looking for a stunning venue and a team who genuinely care about delivering a special day.

We truly had the most perfect wedding day completely wrapped up in a happy (slightly tipsy) bubble while Runa Farm took care of every single detail.
We would highly recommend them. The food and drinks were fantastic (my mother is particularly hard to please but has raved non stop about our informal BBQ wedding breakfast) , and so many of our guests said it was the best wedding they’d ever been to. A lot of that came down to the atmosphere, partly us as a couple but we were only that relaxed because the team at Runa had everything so completely under control. The groom was always going to be relaxed - I had not expected to feel like that!!
For context, I run an events company and have done so for 10 years, so I’ll admit I’m VERY fussy and naturally a bit of a worrier—as I know just how much can go wrong at an event!
That said, booking Runa Farm was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Although they’re part of a larger group, every interaction felt personal, like dealing with a small business that genuinely cares about making your day special. From Michelle, who showed us around when we turned up looking like drowned rats in the Barnard Castle rain, to Paige, our coordinator, and Kelci, our on-the-day planner—everyone was friendly, professional, and, most importantly, delivered on everything they promised (which is surprisingly rare!).
We actually booked a last-minute wedding package with just a 7-week lead time. For me, that was ideal—any longer and I’d have just overthought everything! It also came with a great saving, and I’d absolutely recommend it as there’s more than enough time when the venue team is this organised and proactive.
Like most brides, I was obsessed with positioning of chair sashes, table centres, candles and every tiny detail. But Kelci was incredible—completely on top of everything and making sure the set up was all perfect and exactly how I wanted it. She managed both the day and all of the finer details so seamlessly that I genuinely felt like a guest at my own wedding.
Our toastmaster, Ian, was also brilliant—fun, relaxed, and great at putting the groom and best man at ease before their speeches. He blended in effortlessly while still keeping everything running smoothly.
The biggest thing for me was being able to fully relax and trust that everything was in hand—and honestly, that’s priceless. Before choosing Runa, I visited and spoke to countless venues and often got that “ick” feeling—slow responses, poor communication, or lack of organisation. There’s ALOT of that out there. Runa Farm was the complete opposite and I can’t recommend them enough.
Seamless, Stunning, and Stress-Free
One of the main reasons we chose Runa Farm was because we wanted a venue that could take care of the key coordination elements, things like the changeover and master of ceremonies, so we didn’t have to rely heavily on family members or worry about managing lots of moving parts ourselves. They absolutely delivered on this. The team were professional, calm, and clearly very experienced, which made the whole day feel effortless for us.
We also absolutely loved the venue itself. The style is relaxed but still absolutely stunning, and we had so many guests comment on how beautiful and unique it was. It really created the perfect atmosphere for the day.
In the lead-up to the wedding, Eva was brilliant in helping us organise everything, she was helpful, responsive, and made the whole planning process feel straightforward and well supported. On the day itself, Amy was our wedding manager and she was fantastic, keeping everything running smoothly and making sure we were looked after at every step. Ian was our master of ceremonies and he was also excellent, ensuring the day flowed seamlessly from start to finish.
The weather on the day was a bit on and off, but it didn’t matter at all as we weren’t relying on being outside for any key parts of the celebration, which gave us real peace of mind, and was a big factor with having our wedding in April.
The only slight downside would be that at times it can feel a bit like you’re on a conveyor belt, with preparations beginning for the next wedding while we were still finishing up in the outdoor bar area in the evening. That said, we do recognise this is fairly common in dedicated wedding venues unless you opt for a fully DIY, non-wedding-specific setting.
Overall, we are very happy with our experience at Runa Farm and would definitely recommend it to couples looking for a well-run, beautifully designed venue where a lot of the stress is taken out of the day. Thank you!
Most amazing day
Our wedding coordinator, Eva, was fantastic — professional, approachable and always there to answer any questions we had along the way. She made everything feel manageable and kept us reassured throughout.
Special mentions have to go to Amy, our wedding manager, who was incredible on the day. She made sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy every moment, as well as Ian, the master of ceremonies, who was brilliant — he kept everything flowing perfectly and added such a warm, confident presence to the day. He even went that extra mile for our dog the day of our wedding and the day after!
The whole team at Runa Farm were attentive, experienced, and handled everything with such care and professionalism. The food was amazing, and every detail came together perfectly. It truly was everything we wanted from our wedding day and more.

Everyone loved it, the chapel is like no other and everyone on the day made us feel so special. Becky really looked after us, even though her venue was lartington hall, she joined us on the day alongside Ian our master of ceremonies and they literally went above and beyond making sure we didn't need anything or want for anything.
A truly amazing day made even more so by the fabulous efforts of Runa!
