I had known for years that Rose Castle was somewhere I could only dream of having my fairytale wedding. My partner and I would walk our dogs in the fields around Rose Castle for years, talking about how beautiful the venue was. When we got engaged with the castle in the background, we tried not to get our hopes up when we went to view it, as we had never actually seen inside. But it exceeded all our expectations. From the second we walked in, we instantly knew it was the place for our wedding. Even though we had never considered having a chapel wedding, the chapel ended up being the real selling point for us. We had a moment during our planning process where there were some changes within the team at Rose Castle. However, Becca came into her role and completely reassured us, making us feel excited about our wedding all over again. Nothing ever felt like too much to ask, and we always felt so supported. One of the things we loved most about Rose Castle was how much freedom we had to make the weekend feel completely personal to us. We were able to choose our own menu and even create a personalised cocktail menu, which made the day feel even more special and unique to us. I’m sure many people say this, but our wedding truly could not have been more perfect. We were also able to come to the castle the day before the wedding and set up with all of our family and friends. It meant so much to us to have everyone together, preparing for the big day and getting everything ready without feeling rushed. It made the whole experience feel like a full wedding weekend rather than just one day. The night before, I spent the evening with my bridesmaids and our mums, and the staff went above and beyond to make my “movie night” happen, complete with a projector screen and pizzas in the beautiful Chinese Room. Having the castle to ourselves meant we were able to soak in the beginning of our magical weekend, all sat together in the chapel watching our amazing florists begin to set up. A special mention has to go to Reuben, who was also incredible. He made sure we had everything we needed and, even when things looked like they might go wrong, he was always there with a quick solution. We genuinely felt like we were in the safest hands. The morning of our wedding was spent with all my bridesmaids and the other special women in my life, getting ready between two bedrooms — one for hair and one for make-up — with the added bonus of being able to use the kitchen for breakfast. For me, it was the perfect morning. I was able to really soak it all in, spending time outside taking in the views, watching our wedding being set up and having time for myself to get ready. All of our guests commented on how stunning the venue was. As the day turned into night, our wedding ended with an amazing party before we stayed the night with all our friends and family. The bar staff were also fantastic — even if our wedding party did manage to drink the bar dry not once, but twice! The staff went out to get more drinks for us both times, which really showed their commitment to making sure our guests had the best possible time. I could not recommend Rose Castle more highly. From both me and my husband, we could not be more grateful to Becca, Reuben and the rest of the team — the chefs, gardeners, bar staff and everyone behind the scenes — for being such a special part of making our perfect wedding weekend everything it was. Rose Castle will always hold such a special place in our hearts, and we will forever be grateful that we got to have our fairytale wedding there.

We contacted this new venue to request a viewing after looking at their beautiful pictures online, and was booked in not too long after at a time that suited us. This wasn’t the venue style we were originally after as we wanted a ‘barn type’ theme and hadn’t really considered this style of wedding. However, as soon as we approached the venue and Nigel started the show around, everything we thought we wanted was out the window. We got to see the newly refurbed cottages, discussed the plans for the Manor and most importantly how the orangery will look. This was the selling point for us. We provisionally booked a date for the wedding after the tour and Nigel went above and beyond to answer any questions we had before putting down a deposit. He made the process effortlessly smooth for us and we can’t wait to continue the wedding planning. We could not be happier with the service and how attentive Nigel was.

We held our daughter's wedding at Thornton Manor and it was, without doubt, the most wonderful day. Everything went like an absolute dream. We were delighted to be invited to a birthday function there last week. It brought back wonderful memories. I have to say the music room, where our daughter and son in law were married, looked as stunningly beautiful as ever. Well done, again, Philip and Di.

From the very beginning, Victoria was our main point of contact, and words almost don't do her justice. She was absolutely incredible throughout the entire process so engaging, kind, supportive, and always willing to help with anything we needed. She even went above and beyond with things that weren't technically part of her role, from helping us sort out registrar paperwork to hiding my comfy post-ceremony shoes ready for later! The list of little things she did is endless, and every one of them helped make the experience stress-free and enjoyable. On the wedding day itself, Victoria was simply amazing. If she hadn't been there, I genuinely think we would have been completely lost and a bundle of nerves. My husband isn't usually much of a "people person", but he couldn't stop praising Victoria afterwards. She was fantastic at keeping him calm, directing him when needed, and making sure everything ran smoothly. Of course, the building itself is stunning. The setting is beautiful, the atmosphere is unique, and our photographs are absolutely incredible. Everything from start to finish was perfect. I would recommend Manchester Art Gallery a million times over. The venue is breathtaking, but Victoria is what truly made our day so special. We will always be grateful for everything she did for us.

Saddleworth Hotel go above and beyond what is expected to make sure you and your guests experience the best day ever. Our guests have said it is the best wedding they have been to and the food is the best food ever. Each course was brought out to all guests at the same time, no table was left waiting for their food. Would highly recommend.

Cannot find 1 fault with this venue. We had our day on 15th July 2022 and everything was just perfect from start to finish, staff were friendly, venue was dressed beautifully and exactly how I wanted, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was out of this world (and the portion sizes were amazing), attention to detail was spot on. Rachel and Ryan are absolute wedding angels and I cannot thank them enough for everything. Almost 3 weeks on and I’m still in awe of our perfect day 🤍 Thank you everything guys. Xx

Probably 1 of the easiest reviews to write, we celebrated our wedding here on Friday 26th June, booking and planning started in 2023, Ryan took over as co-ordinator in early 2024 and he has been incredible from the day we met. Nothing was too much, he went above and beyond in every manner, you turned my visions into everything I imagined! seeing how I imagined it was just the warmest feeling ever. Other mentions, the rest of the wedding team, Jessica thank you for being so helpful! Sophie - you were fantastic so thorough, polite and a great host. Brego, Akshay, the 2 brothers (sorry bad memory) and all other F&B staff were amazing on the Thursday, Friday & Saturday! All guests have complimented ALL staff from housekeeping, reception F&B! You all made our day so perfect, it was a dream come true and if the only thing that goes wrong on your day is Grans train being cancelled and holding up the ceremony then just goes to show what a good team that you have! We will forever be grateful for the day you all gave us!!! Thank You!

We shared our wedding surrounded by family and friends at this stunningly beautiful hotel , from the minute we booked our wedding we were made to feel so welcome , communication when planning was great nothing was to much , fast forward to our amazing day , a very nervous and stressed out bride , staff took over they couldn’t do anymore to keep me calm everything about the service was amazing nothing was to much , all of our guests stayed in the hotel and couldn’t believe how lovely the rooms were stylish and modern , we had the most perfect day here and would book it all over again in a heartbeat Perfect venue all under one roof . Combermere Abbey was the perfect wedding venue for us. We knew from the moment we walked in, that it was the venue for us. All of our guests were blown away with how beautiful it is. All of our guests went out of their way to say to us how amazing the staff and food were. We would love to say a massive thank you to Carol, she made sure on the day that we had everything we needed and went out of her way to make this happen. We really appreciated this especially as Carol hasn’t been working there for very long. We cannot fault any of the staff at Combermere Abbey, so thank you so much for making our day so special.

I had always dreamed of having a traditional, big white wedding in a beautiful hotel and The Adelphi made that dream a reality! From our very first meeting with Jane, the wedding specialist we knew we had found our perfect venue. We were welcomed with open arms and greeted by Jane’s warm and friendly smile. Her knowledge and experience of wedding planning were incredible, she was always one step ahead, bringing up little details and considerations that we hadn’t even thought of ourselves. This gave us so much confidence and reassurance that everything would be taken care of and nothing would be missed. We were working with a fairly tight budget but Jane was fantastic at working with us and helping us create the wedding we wanted, without compromising on the things that mattered most to us. Our ceremony took place in the beautiful Derby Suite, followed by drinks and mingling with our guests in the Grand Lounge. We then enjoyed our wedding breakfast and evening reception in the Banqueting Hall. The Adelphi provided the most stunning backdrop for our photographs, with its beautiful chandeliers, grand staircases and wonderful Edwardian features. There were photo opportunities around every corner! We genuinely could not fault a single part of our day. Every member of staff went above and beyond to make sure both we and our guests had an incredible experience. The food was delicious, hot and plentiful and so many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. Jane was with us every step of the way on the day, even walking me down from the Bridal Suite to the ceremony room to help calm my nerves. She announced us into the room as Husband & Wife and helped with our timings as we were so nervous for the speeches, she is a superstar! We stayed in the Bridal Suite on our wedding night and WOW — what a room to begin married life in! It was absolutely stunning and the perfect way to finish such a special day. Several of our wedding party stayed over too and they were equally impressed with their rooms. The following morning we all enjoyed a full English breakfast (exactly what we needed after dancing the night away!) From the planning stages right through to the morning after The Adelphi made our wedding truly unforgettable. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue or a more wonderful team to help bring our dream wedding to life. We will always look back on our wedding day with the happiest memories and would wholeheartedly recommend The Adelphi to anyone looking for their perfect wedding venue!
