Beautiful Ceremony Spaces
For those dreaming of an outdoor wedding, our beautifully landscaped, award-winning gardens, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Lake Windermere, provide an idyllic setting for saying “I do”. Exchange vows beneath our elegant Garden Gazebo, surrounded by natural beauty and panoramic lake views.
Alternatively, choose our elegant Hall, rich in romantic charm with its original oak panelling, open fireplace, warm lighting and sweeping views across the landscaped gardens.
For more intimate celebrations, you also have the option to exchange vows beside the lake, where tranquil waters and spectacular Lake District scenery create a wonderfully romantic atmosphere, or enjoy the charm and intimacy of our beautiful, light-filled Library.

We offer a variety of wedding packages to suit every style of celebration, from our ‘Just Us’ package for elopements and intimate weddings, to our exclusive-use packages for larger celebrations, including ‘Fairfield’ and ‘Helvellyn’.

Beautiful lakeside venue
Perfect New Years Eve 2025 Wedding
The wedding coordinators Hannah and Mathilda looked after us with so much care and attention, before, during and after our wedding.
We had a number of visits and meetings before hand and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We attended an Open Day where we got to look at every room in the hotel. This assured us all our guests were getting a quality room to stay in.
The bridal suite is exceptional, the four poster bed, comfy arm chairs, lots of space for the wedding morning hair and makeup. Plus the views of the lake and fells from two side of the room were amazing.
The food is impressive and delicious, starting with the pre wedding night Italian buffet, we booked for all our guests. Then the wedding day canapés, main meal and evening hot buffet were all served with precision. All our guests booked told us how much they’d enjoyed the food, which was indeed superb.
I was very nervous and anxious in the lead up to our wedding but on our arrival at venue, we were met with a hug from Stacey the Hotel Manager and Hannah and Mathilda.
That meant so much, after that we felt totally welcome and at home. We relaxed from that moment and had the most perfect four days there.
Stacey runs a wonderful hotel, where every member of the Cragwood team was friendly and helpful to us and all our guests.

Fantastic stay and location
The day went smoothly and there were no issues at all , Hannah had delivered what was set out and we were over the moon with everything.
Food was excellent, rooms and house was immaculately clean and the staff were beyond generous in their time and manners .
Can’t wait to return for a chill out wk end .
Well done cragwood and Hannah is a credit to the place .

I’ve been part of the Cragwood team since 2022, starting in Front of House before stepping into my role as Assistant Wedding Coordinator in 2026. My experience at the hotel means I know it inside out and have a great understanding of what goes into creating a truly special experience for couples and their guests.
