Facilities and Capacity
Stirk House can accommodate intimate ceremonies with your nearest and dearest to big luxurious parties for 250 guests. No matter how big or small your wedding is, the team will consistently give you the utmost attention and ensure everything runs smoothly on the day. The multi-purpose function suite means you can make the most of the space whilst keeping certain areas closed off for a more personal feel. The function suite has its own bar, bathrooms, and a private lounge area, meaning you can enjoy the exclusivity of your chosen setting. Equipped with a late license, there's no need to worry that the party will end too early. And once the main event has finished, the lounge bar is open to all residents wanting a peaceful nightcap. There are 33 bedrooms on site, sleeping between 85 and 90 people if all extra beds/sofa beds are used. The Seasons restaurant is open for you to come and try the exquisite food beforehand. It's also where you can dine the night before the wedding and have breakfast the day after - another excellent opportunity to catch up with loved ones.

Meet the team
Hi my name is Danielle and I am the wedding and Events Manager at Stirk House.
A bit about me - I live locally in Skipton and I love spending time with family, friends and travelling / going on holiday. My favourite holiday was probably Disney Florida with my friends – nothing beats a girl trip away!
I’ve worked at Stirk House since August 2012, starting out on reception before moving into the weddings department in 2015.
Me and my husband also chose to get married at Stirk House in 2021. We couldn’t think of getting married anywhere else – we knew the food was amazing, and the staff and service is second to none.
Favourite Part of a Wedding: My favourite part of the wedding has to be the evening party! You really see the couples relax and let their hair down, and enjoying a good dance!
Favourite thing about Stirk House: The food! It’s so tasty!
Favourite time of year or theme for a wedding: I’m a sucker for an autumn wedding! All the different colours that can be used, and with it getting darker earlier it feels cosy at night with all the twinkly lights.
What do you love most about your job? I love meeting new people from all walks of life and building close relationships during the planning process. You really get to know people and it always feel really special being a part of such a big day in their lives.
Any advice for couples planning their wedding: I always advise couples to book the registrar as soon as the venue is booked, to make sure they can book a time that works for them. For Winter Weddings I also recommend to not book the wedding too late. This is because it will usually start getting dark around 4pm, so we need to make sure there is enough daylight hours for your photos 😊
Favourite memory from working at Stirk House: I have so many great memories of weddings but also the time I spend with my team. We work well together and also have such a laugh! For weddings, my favourite was a festival wedding we had. After the ceremony and wedding breakfast everyone headed outside to where we had a stage set up with dancefloor, and different bands playing all day. There were haybales, a prosecco tent and outside bar! Once the bands finished everyone headed inside for a silent disco. I’ll always remember this wedding, as it was so unique and really personal to the couple. It took a lot of planning but was so worth it – and the couple were so kind to invite the staff to join them on the dancefloor!

Hello! My name is Lucy and I am the assistant wedding and events Manager. A bit about me - I live in the heart of the Ribble Valley in a town called Clitheroe. I joined the Stirk House team over seven years ago, in January 2017 whilst completing my degree in Events Management. Then when on to becoming ‘Best Wedding Co-ordinator’ in the North West, 2022 for County Bride Wedding Awards.
I love spending quality time with my husband, family and friends. I love to explore new places, eat fine food and drink good wine!
My favourite holiday of all time would have to be mine and my husband honeymoon to Dubai and the Maldives after our beautiful wedding at Stirk House itself in July 2023.
Favourite Part of a Wedding: My favourite part of a wedding is watching the wedding party arrive. I love to watch the reaction of the person waiting for their soon to be husband or wife as they walk down aisle.
Favourite thing about Stirk House: My favourite part of Stirk House is the breath taking views. It is surrounded by 22 acres of magnificent Lancashire countryside, overlooking Pendle Hill and provides a magical setting for our wonderful couples. The famous ‘Stirk House Tree’ in particular is one of my favourites, as it is covered in hundreds of fairy lights with a gorgeous pathway going down towards it and photographers always capture beautiful, romantic pictures.
Favourite time of year or theme for a wedding: Spring/ Summer when the sun shining and everyone is in high spirts.
What do you love most about your job? I love working within an award winning weddings team and making our wedding couples dreams become a reality.
Any advice for couples planning their wedding: The advice I would give to couples would be to remember it is their own special day and they should have it how they want it! Also, it is important for couples to book their preferred suppliers sooner rather than later to avoid any disappointment.
Favourite memory from working at Stirk House: I’ve had made some of the best memories working at Stirk House. The memories are endless and I can’t just pick one! I love working with the team and having a giggle. I love that every wedding is individual to that couple and everyone has the perfect day. I can’t wait for the memories to continue!

Any advice for couples planning their wedding: The Advice I would give to couples is to book any supplier they would particularly want as soon as possible so they can make sure they have everything they want on their special day. Also its important to remind them to not worry and to just have fun & enjoy their special day, our wedding team will be there every minute of the day to make sure everything is perfect for them.
