Set against the backdrop of the River Wyre, The River Barn is an exclusive wedding venue located in the beautiful countryside of Little Singleton, Lancashire. The team invites you to host a memorable wedding experience immersed in five acres of protected woodland complete with formal walled gardens. Nestled deep within these idyllic grounds, a luxurious 16th-century manor awaits, offering grandeur and comfort for your most magical day.

Facilities and Capacity

The River Barn is a secret haven tucked away at the end of a stately tree-lined driveway. Here, you can embrace historical opulence and chic rustic interiors all in one intimate location with bountiful picture-perfect scenes. The barn venue is made for elegant bohemian affairs and country weddings, with its exposed oak beams and masses of cascading foliage. Outside, the lush aesthetic continues, embraced by the surrounding foresty and manicured lawns. Guests can enjoy alfresco canapés and drinks under the festoon lit oak pergola. The Tudor Manor House provides seven gorgeous bedrooms, including the stunning Honeymoon Suite located within a secluded wing. This private space boasts a kitchen, dining room and cosy living area where you can enjoy the first days of newlywedded bliss. The wooded area contains a further six ensuite Oak Tree Cabins, accessed via a festoon-lit path.

The River Barn offers exclusive hire of the venue and its grounds, complete with the welcome expertise of a wedding coordinator and a master of ceremonies. The dedicated event planning team promise to be your greatest asset, providing a wealth of wedding and supplier advice that will keep all anxieties at bay. You will also have a choice of licensed ceremony areas throughout the grounds alongside fully-reserved accommodation for up to 28 guests. On the morning of the wedding, you can enjoy a glass of bubbly and lavish beauty treatments in your own private beauty parlour. Additional wedding package features include:

Great value disgusting staff

The venue is stunning! 10/10
The bar staff, the 2 ladies, so lovely, friendly, and really involved themselves with the guests, you could tell they was in the right job for a wedding. Smiles all around, what you should have.
However, everything else…..
On my first visit, I met with Mel, what she told me sold me the venue for my wedding, the venue alone did it but the information Mel provided was what I was looking for. As I began to plan my wedding, I contacted the venue regarding Caterers I have found for my wedding, only to be advised that I had to use on of their “recommended” Caterers. During my first meet, I was informed of these recommended Caters and explained that these are only recommendations, right? Wrong! They are REQUIREMENTS and if I sit and read all the small print T&Cs rather than take the word of what Mel told me, then the information would have been there. I expect a 5* service when spending THOUSANDS of pounds on a Venue to be told by mouth the correct term, when I politely addressed this to Mel I was accused of SLADER……… WOW!!! By this point, the venue already had £1000 of my money and I knew I would lose this if I pulled out now so I had to put aside their disgusting behavior towards a paying customer.
When I booked, we were advised there is outside seating with a swings and a firepit which was ideal for us, near to the time of the wedding, I had to ask as they was still not built and turns out due to Health and Safety, they cannot have them on the property, they did not even tell me! WOW.
On Hitched, where I located this property, it stated a minimum of 2 guests. As I only wanted around 30, this was perfect. However, during the meet, they said the minimum was actually 50 however they will accept 30 based on us getting a drinks package of 50 which was fine as they would get drank anyways. After agreeing and booking the venue and using their “recommended” caters, I got stung with them only accepting a minimum of 50 guests for the food! So not only did the venue accept my numbers but fail to set up any type of agreement with the “recommended” cateres. I therefore had to invite more people to my wedding so I am not wasting 100s of pounds on food that nobody will be there to eat.
With the venue, you have to pay £900 for the Manor house as well, so there are 6 rooms for my family to stay in, however, I have 3 children in my family, they don’t even provide room for children, no cot beds, nothing. But this manor house is required…… so we had to provide our own beds. WOW.
During my wedding, as we was finishing off our meal, I was told that all our stuff has been removed from the beauty room. As I am trying to enjoy my WEDDING, I had to go see to the reception room of the manor house to find all my stuff being dumped. No respect, nothing. WOW.
The room is set up with all greenery and lighting, but if you want them to switch the lights on, you have to pay around £200………..WOW!
The evening, we was handed the emergency key, this was our responsibility….. Sorry, no. We are not here to have in our possessions emergency keys for the property, get staff to handle this. WOW.
I am very organized and very tidy. The day before my wedding, I had to drop all my things off, only to be greeted by 2 miserable girls, I felt like I forced them into work, made my brother and I uncomfortable to be there. When leaving the venue after my wedding, to get the rest of my things, I was told they are in the kitchen. As I went round to load up my car, all my stuff was literally thrown into boxes. No handle of care, nothing. How dare they!! WOW.
I had no follow up after my wedding if I was happy with everything, if everything went well, nothing. No care! WOW
The list goes on but please be very mindful when booking. They are there for the money and the money only, there is no care, no respect or happiness from the staff. It is a wedding venue, they are miserable, greedy, rude and really in the wrong business!


So glad I did not let them ruin my day!

Perfect Venue

The River Barn was the perfect location myself and my husband were looking for to celebrate our wedding.

The location was perfect, the venue is beautiful and perfect for a rustic wedding. All my dreams came true on our wedding day on 29th April 2023.

The staff were great, and everything was perfect. All our guests loved the venue and the wedding!

Great Wedding

We attended a wedding of a friend last week.

The venue was breathtaking, the staff were great and the DJ played great music.

All in all, a great experience. I'm already married but would definitely recommend.

Amazing venue to hold a wedding

I do not know where to begin but I honestly can not thank the staff enough for everything they did to ensure that my wedding was perfect. From the beginning the staff were so extremely helpful in ensuring that this venue was the right venue for our wedding. They were able to answer any questions or worries we had. Throughout the process we had multiple meetings with the venue and welcomed to open days in which they sat down and clearly went through any details and additional questions we had and any they may have. They were extremely responsive whenever i emailed or phoned them. On the day they made sure that my vision came to life, they ensured that everything went smoothly and did everything they could to make sure the day was exactly what we wanted. I can not thank all the staff at the River Barn for everything they have done for me and my husband. The venue its self it just perfect, with the modern barn look and the manor it just is beautiful along with their perfect gardens. I am extremely happy with my experience with the River Barn.

River Barn Wedding

The River Barn is a stunning venue with pleasant and helpful staff. They we’ve supportive in giving us the vibe with wanted for our big day.
The only drawbacks we found were no microphone for the speeches meaning those at the back of the hall struggled to hear. And the sound system wasn’t what it needed to be for the band we had booked.
Would definitively recommend to future couples looking to book a venue

Wow wow wow

I recently attending a wedding of my neice at the river barn (August 23 ) and I was blown away. Its such a pretty venue inside and out .Set in a stunning setting .The set up is amazing a 5 star experience .The staff and owners could not do enough to accommodate our family . The food was also outstanding .
They really care and the little touches just showed in my neices face .
Wonderful wedding and stay over in a huge house full of character. Other stayed in brand new cabins a lovely experience on there own

Beautiful memories made forever.
Thank you to you all at the river barn.Hope you continue to bring lots more happiness on such special days.
