Below is an email we have sent to The Dunes after our lovely wedding day!

We just wanted to say the biggest, bubbliest, most heartfelt THANK YOU for giving us the most incredible wedding day we could have ever dreamed of. We are still floating on air and honestly can’t put into words how happy and grateful we are.

Charlotte and Robbie – you were both absolutely phenomenal. From the very first meeting right through to the big day, you were kind, calm, organised, and full of positivity. No question was too small, no request too much – and believe us, we had a few! The countless emails, the long chats, the final details… you made sure every single detail was covered, and my goodness, it truly paid off. Our day was flawless.

Charlotte – thank you especially for your patience and care with Daisy. Getting her down the aisle was a little miracle in itself, and you did it with such grace and warmth. And thank you so much for checking in on me all morning – it honestly helped me feel so calm and reassured.

To the amazing bar staff – thank you for your energy and enthusiasm! You weren’t just serving drinks; you were part of the celebration. When our entertainer roped you in, you joined in with such good spirit – everyone noticed and absolutely loved it.

Please pass on the biggest compliments to the chef – the food was out of this world! Everything was beautifully presented and full of flavour, and so many guests commented that it was the best wedding meal they’d ever had. From the canapés to the evening bites, every bite was delicious.

The venue itself looked stunning. The rooms were clean, spacious, and so welcoming. The little touches – rose petals, thoughtful decor, everything in place – it all added such a lovely, personal feel. It really made the overnight stay feel just as special as the day itself.

We also want to give a huge thank you to the whole behind-the-scenes team – the cleaners, kitchen crew, setup staff, and everyone else who works so hard but might not always be seen. Your efforts did not go unnoticed. The whole day ran smoothly and on time, and that only happens when there’s a brilliant team running the show.

So many of our guests told us it was one of the best weddings they’ve ever been to – and that’s entirely thanks to all of you. You made sure everything flowed beautifully so that we could simply enjoy ourselves, be in the moment, and soak it all in.

If anyone ever asks us for wedding venue recommendations, you will be top of the list. Without a doubt. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a huge part of the happiest day of our lives.

The Dunes is just the most perfect wedding venue. The location is absolutely stunning, my pictures are out of this world. The staff are fantastic and cannot do enough for you. Charlotte and Robbie made sure our wedding day was planned to perfection. The decorations were great and we were looked after before, during and after! Highly recommend x

We recently got married at The Dunes, and wish we could relive it over and over again! Everything was absolutely perfect!

From our very first email through to our planning meetings, Robbie was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive to all of our ideas.

On the run up to our day, Charlotte was incredible- she went out of her way to accommodate us and was in regular contact about our final plans. No request was too much and we honestly felt truly valued and supported in the planning of the big day.

On the day, we felt reassured that everything was in hand and taken care of by the lovely team at The Dunes. Charlotte made sure the day ran smoothly, and is so wonderfully friendly and easy to talk to that it immediately calmed us throughout the whirlwind of the day! She is so, so talented at what she does and also ensured the rooms for our ceremony and evening reception were set up even more beautifully than we could have envisioned! It is clear that she genuinely cares about you and your day. Rest assured your wedding is in the safest hands with her!

The Dunes is such a special place for us and we have no doubts we'll be back, whether for meals in the restaurant or for future events!

I don't even know where to start.
Charlotte (The wedding coordinator @ The Dunes), truly is amazing.
She went above and beyond to make our day perfect.
We had zero problems, everyone was so happy with food, service (everything).
Food was amazing and plenty of it too.
Rooms were perfect, day & night went amazing. Only problem was it went way too fast.
Charlotte did everything for us, from doing all our decorations that we brought (thinking we'd be doing them) to delivering the most perfect day for us.
She's easy to talk to, get along with and puts you at ease with everything.

I stayed at the Dunes the night before my wedding and from the minute I arrived Charlotte the events planner make sure I was happy with how the room was set out and was constantly checking to see if happy with everything. The day of the wedding yet again charlotte came in the morning to see how I was doing and if there was anything she could do to help. She even helped with my little girl. The whole day went perfect and smoothly and that was down to charlotte and the dunes team. If I have any more events I certainly will be booking here again.

I cannot fault anything from first walking into The Dunes Hotel to ask for a wedding leaflet and was immediately shown round the venue (April 2024) and eventually being married in July 2025.

From the very first email between Robbie (Sales and Marketing Manager) and I, nothing was too much. All my questions were asked, fulfilled and came to fruition on my wedding day.

Robbie and the vendors were all in touch behind the scenes after I had spoken with them. From the flowers, photographer, saxophonist, singer and in house disco, everything was set up exactly how I wanted.

The day started with room service (fabulous room with a view) with a lovely breakfast for the bridal party. From the ceremony, which was outside and a beautiful location, the stunning function room for the superb wedding breakfast, which was changed for the night time celebrations, it was all just perfect.

The staff at The Dunes Hotel could not do enough for us, especially Robbie as I felt he was my personal wedding coordinator and the whole day went without a hitch because of him and his team.

All in all, a fabulous location, fabulous staff, fabulous food, cannot fault The Dunes Hotel for a wedding venue.

Couldn’t recommend the Dunes more - a beautiful venue, staff can’t do enough for you and were really helpful, friendly, flexible and good communication beforehand. Great value for money, the function room itself was beautifully decorated and there was a good mix of indoor and outdoor areas for guests to mingle. Food was great (everyone mentioned it) and any requests were met without any stress - 10/10

Robbie and Charlotte (the wedding coordinators) were amazing! They were always on hand to help with any queries and requests! The venue itself is in such a beautiful location, with only being 2 minutesfrom the beach, there's even a buttercup field on the grounds both of which are stunning places for the perfect photos! The food was delicious! All of the staff were fantastic! The rooms were spacious and really comfortable! We would 100% recommend the dunes for any part of your special day, but they do it all and our whole day was magical because of the hardworking team at the dunes!

The Dunes for our wedding Friday 6th December 2024 was the best decision we ever made. The whole experience from the first meeting with coordinator Robbie to the day of our wedding was amazing and beyond words !!! Every detail we wanted was met with 'absolutely not a problem'and done with professionalism, care, expertise and respect even suggesting ideas that we'd never thought of which we added to make our day extra special. All the staff that were involved from the reception, the kitchen,waiting on staff and chambermaids were polite,courteous and so helpful throughout the day and night,nothing was too much trouble.
We would highly recommend The Dunes Hotel Barrow-in-Furness Cumbria for your wedding as every aspect you want is met to make your beautiful, gorgeous memorable day, a day to remember and hold in your hearts forever ❤️.

Gary the wedding coordinator was amazing from start to finish, so chilled out and nothing was too much for him even when we had a last minute disaster and my husband realised he’d forgot to bring the wedding music with him it was no problem for Gary. I couldn’t recommend him enough he’s relatively new to the dunes but he really was amazing and helped make our special day run smoothly 🤩
