The River Manor

We contacted this new venue to request a viewing after looking at their beautiful pictures online, and was booked in not too long after at a time that suited us. This wasn’t the venue style we were originally after as we wanted a ‘barn type’ theme and hadn’t really considered this style of wedding. However, as soon as we approached the venue and Nigel started the show around, everything we thought we wanted was out the window. We got to see the newly refurbed cottages, discussed the plans for the Manor and most importantly how the orangery will look. This was the selling point for us.

We provisionally booked a date for the wedding after the tour and Nigel went above and beyond to answer any questions we had before putting down a deposit. He made the process effortlessly smooth for us and we can’t wait to continue the wedding planning.

From our first enquiry the team were fantastic booking us in for our viewing of The River Manor. The setting of the venue is absolutely stunning and exactly what we were picturing for our big day. There is a fantastic value for money at this venue with a lot included for your day, the cottages are beautifully renovated. The lady who showed us around was lovely and had lots of information for us.

We can’t fault our experience with the River Manor so far. Nigel has been helpful, responsive, friendly and answered all of our questions so promptly. We were shown around the venue by Natalie, and although we weren’t able to go into the Manor House yet she showed us round the beautiful cottages which are finished and ready, and we were able to see renders of the plans for the rest of the venue. Visiting their other venue ‘the River Barn’ the day before, and seeing the amazing work they had done filled us with complete confidence for the completion of the River Manor!

We had struggled to find a venue which fully reflected the style we want our wedding to be, but the River Manor absolutely blew us away. The attention to detail and styling was second to none, and you could tell how much thought and care had gone into every part.

The team were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and stressed how much they want each wedding experience to be unique and personal. My dad is disabled, and we were particularly impressed and touched by their knowledge and consideration around our accessibility needs for the day.

We both knew it was the venue and team for us before we had even left the car park! We’re so excited to see the venue when it is fully completed, and for our wedding there in 2028 🎊

We had visited other venues but always felt like there was something missing. That was until we visited The River Manor. We knew instantly that this was the venue for us.

Before we visited we spoke with Nigel multiple times. His responses were always so quick and helpful, nothing ever felt like too much trouble for him. It was this in particular that made us feel at ease before we even saw the venue, as we could tell from our very first interaction that the team would be welcoming and genuinely invested in making our whole wedding experience as special as possible.

On the day we were shown around by James. We were able to see the exterior of the building and the grounds, which are truly breathtaking. The cottages on site were available for us to look round and we were so impressed with how beautifully they have been renovated. We also had the opportunity to look through the CGI images while James talked us through the plan for the venue, and explained to us how the day would flow. This really helped us to picture our wedding day and see just how incredible the finished venue is going to be.

We are so grateful to the whole team at The River Manor and cannot wait to have our dream wedding day!

We found The River Manor whilst looking for modern country manors, which is actually quite a rare ask! We looked at around 100 venues across the North of England, and The River Manor was pretty much the first one we came across, and the only one that really caught our eye.

Nigel, the venue manager, kindly invited us for a “behind the scenes” show round of the grounds and cottages. At the time, the grounds and main house were still very much a building site, but the cottages had already been renovated and they were spectacular. You could immediately see the level of thought, care and attention to detail that had gone into every single one.

Of course, choosing a venue that hasn’t been completed yet is always a bit of a leap of faith. We looked at multiple other options, but none gave us quite the same feeling that The River Manor did.

Nigel has also been fantastic. I think when it comes to your wedding, you’re not just choosing a venue - you’re choosing the team you want to have involved in such an important day, and Nigel is exactly the kind of person you want in your corner. He goes above and beyond to answer every question and ease any concerns we have, and has completely reassured us about the venue being ready in time, just as they did with their sister property, The River Barn.

We’re genuinely so thrilled with our choice. For us, The River Manor absolutely ticks every box, particularly having so much accommodation on site, which was a huge priority for us.

We’re so excited to watch the venue come together over the next 18 months and can’t wait for our big day there. We already know it’s going to be an incredibly special place.

If you’re considering The River Manor but feeling a little apprehensive about choosing a venue that’s still under construction, I’d honestly say take the leap. We did, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision!

We met with Nigel, and got a great vibe immediately!
He walked us through the grounds, showed us around and explained everything thoroughly.

The venue was absolutely beautiful, great value for money, and everything that was included was fab also!
We’d been very fussy with venues, couldn’t find anything we actually liked the idea of, but immediately fell in love with The River Manor!
Nigel explained that all our wants and needs were possible, even to have our doggies there for the ceremony!

We didn’t need to leave the venue and think, we’d decided it was the one for the 5 minutes Nigel left us alone, and we are so excited! 🤍💒💍
