Knipe Hall is a 17th-Century Grade II listed Farm House with plenty of country character. Close to both the town of Penrith and beautiful Ullswater and with south-west facing gardens looking out across the Lowther Valley, it's certainly in a pretty perfect position. Blessed with beamy low ceilings, traditional stone built walls and plenty of period furniture
We have hosted weddings at Knipe Hall for 10 years and our approach to weddings receptions is professional yet relaxed, as primarily we own a unique property that we have adapted with flexibility in mind. Bring your own ideas and we’ll try our utmost to accommodate them. Some of the services we provide ‘in house’ such as catering and the bar service leaving you free to plan the entertainment, decorations and the timings for your day. The country-style sitting room inside the house with the wood burning stove and grand fireplace (seating up to 20 guests) or The Old Dairy (seating up to 110 guests) which is a superb room for the purpose and can be decorated to your taste. In-house staff will setup The Dairy after your ceremony to use again for your wedding breakfast.
Upstairs, we have The Party Barn with the fully-equipped bar and dance floor to take the party into the night. In total, we can accommodate up to 150 guests for your evening event.

We would highly recommend Knipe Hall as a wedding venue. The place it’s self is in a beautiful setting, our guests enjoyed playing lawn games on the grass and having the separate party barn and dining area worked really well. It’s also really nice to have such a private place. The staff were absolutely fantastic. Caroline, Charlotte and the bar and waiting staff worked extremely hard on the day and made sure everything ran smoothly. I can not recommend Knipe Hall highly enough, the venue and staff really made our day.Sent on 17/10/2019

Beautiful venue, let down by owner.
Knipe hall is a stunning location and we had a wonderful day however this was largely down to location and our wonderful guests rather than the service we received which was very unprofessional and not what you would expect. This included guests having to clean the bar, a complete lack of support and communication, a leaky ceiling, being ignored and avoided, the groom having to pick up sheep poo...the list goes on. I did contact knipe hall before writing this review to give them a chance to right their wrongs. I received an initial email acknowledging and apologising for these issues and a promise the owner would be in touch, this was over a month ago and nothing. So disappointing and rude.Sent on 29/10/2017
