Fantastic venue
Venue Service

We would highly recommend Knipe Hall as a wedding venue. The place it’s self is in a beautiful setting, our guests enjoyed playing lawn games on the grass and having the separate party barn and dining area worked really well. It’s also really nice to have such a private place. The staff were absolutely fantastic. Caroline, Charlotte and the bar and waiting staff worked extremely hard on the day and made sure everything ran smoothly. I can not recommend Knipe Hall highly enough, the venue and staff really made our day.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful review.

Beautiful venue, let down by owner.

Knipe hall is a stunning location and we had a wonderful day however this was largely down to location and our wonderful guests rather than the service we received which was very unprofessional and not what you would expect. This included guests having to clean the bar, a complete lack of support and communication, a leaky ceiling, being ignored and avoided, the groom having to pick up sheep poo...the list goes on. I did contact knipe hall before writing this review to give them a chance to right their wrongs. I received an initial email acknowledging and apologising for these issues and a promise the owner would be in touch, this was over a month ago and nothing. So disappointing and rude.

Beautiful location

What an amazing day we had here yesterday for our wedding. From start to finish. The staff worked endlessly until the early hours with such a great service the whole way through. The barns are the greatest canvas for you to create your perfect space and the finished result was just stunning.

Absolutely brilliant venue!

I got married here on Saturday and it was perfect. Seb and his staff were absolutely fantastic and went out of their way to make sure everything was amazing. The venue is beautiful and it was brilliant being able to decorate it exactly how we wanted, also being able to spend the weekend with our family and friends.

The day could not have gone any better

We celebrated my daughter's wedding at Knipe Hall on 4th June and what a fantastic week it was. We hired Knipe for the week before and spent wonderful family time in the most beautiful of surroundings. The accommodation was very comfortable, spacious and clean. i love cooking and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. We had dinner each evening in the stately dining room! The beds were comfortable, hot water plentiful and we really enjoyed staying in such an interesting property. The children and dog loved the freedom to run and play in the grounds. They also used the hot tub frequently. Now the wedding day itself. I liaised frequently beforehand with Seb and Adam and we discussed everything in detail, benefiting from their experience and knowledge of the venue. They were always most helpful and provided everything we asked for. In fact Seb went beyond the call of duty when we had problems finding accommodation for our dog on the day of the wedding! Nothing was too much trouble. When we returned from church, the champagne was set up outside as the weather was so good and everyone enjoyed the magnificent surroundings. Although we were quite late starting the wedding breakfast there was no panic (well we weren't made aware of any!!!). The young people who served the meal and who waited on us until the early hours of the morning were delightful. The Dairy looked stunning thanks to Laura from Greenwheat in Penrith and the food was delicious and plentiful thanks to Catering 4 Cumbria. Both were recommended by Seb.

Knipe Hall July wedding
Venue Service

By Iona Howell, on 17 Oct 2015

We had a fantastic time for our wedding in July. Knipe Hall is a great venue for the diy-er, self-organiser and people who really want their wedding their way. It's a blank canvas and you really can make your own mark on the spaces. Seb and the Caterers he works with run a tight ship and really made our day run smoothly. Things you should know... - It really is in the middle of no-where, take advantage of getting transport arranged for your guests, it will make the day run more easily. - There really is no NO phone or data reception at the venue, see this as an advantage that your guests will be focused on the day. - There was no corkage, which to us was a massive plus. We also stayed in the house for a couple of days either side of the wedding. A great base to explore the Lakes from, and the size meant friends and family could hang around with us. The facilities in the house are great but a little basic.
