Our Story…
We are a family-owned, national award-winning Wedding venue, and we love to host wonderful weddings here in the mill! We understand that every wedding is individual, and our Wedding teams work hard to understand what vibe you want for your special day..
Our venue is situated within Bowers Mill. Bowers Mill is a former Textile Mill in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside near Halifax in West Yorkshire and we offer couples a unique industrial setting to host their Wedding Day!
What can we offer for your Wedding Day?
- We offer Wedding Couples, their friends & family ‘exclusive use’ of The Venue, this includes our outdoor space overlooking the lake.

Our facilities
The Ceremony.
The Spinning room is the perfect setting to say, ‘I do’. This room was originally used to spin the wool and adjoins the Bowers suite. This suite can also host a wedding ceremony for up to 120 guests or wedding breakfast up to 100 guests. The Spinning room overlooks the rooftops of Bowers Mill, and provides stunning panoramic views of the Yorkshire countryside. Lots of the original features have been retained, including: The origional mill floor, cast iron pillars and exposed brickwork. The Spinning room is the ultimate romantic backdrop for your Wedding ceremony.
The Reception.
Bowers Suite. This room is a perfect setting for an industrial style wedding. During the daytime, the large factory windows fill the space with lofty natural light. At night, the lights illuminate the room with warmth. Originally this room was used as a carding and weaving room in Bowers Mill. "The magic behind the curtain"...this space can be divided into 3 sections with stylish drapes, offering a ‘reveal’ for your guests to enjoy! We can host from 60 guests or up to 400 guests if opening up the whole floor space.
Couples can also choose an outdoor ceremony, and say "I do" under the pagoda overlooking the lake. Outdoor capacity: 80 guests.

The Perfect Rustic-Modern Wedding Venue!
Bowers Mill was the first (and last) venue we looked at in our search for where to have our wedding. From the first glance we had at on their website, we knew that this was the perfect venue. Seeing it in-person confirmed this for us - I admit, we both teared up when we both first saw it.
We had the pleasure of working with Hannah in planning our wedding. She was incredibly friendly and proactive in the planning stage, and we enjoyed meeting with her at several points in the lead-up to the big day. We discussed many adjustments that were required, such as alcohol-free, dietary requirements, and children's meals, and all of these were accommodated.
After seeing the many decorations that they had to offer, our simple request was "make it pretty", which they executed to a high standard. Many guests commented how gorgeous the venue was; from the outside patio, to the spacious breakfast and reception area, to the intimate and rustic ceremony room.
Not only did they ensure that the venue looked beautiful, but the day ran smoothly and without any issues. Everything ran to time and to a high quality and standard. One of our guests even had to ask if we had rehearsed the entire day with the venue since it ran so seamlessly!
I'm sure that many engaged couples, when looking for their perfect wedding venue, will also be thinking about costs. Unlike other venues, there are no hidden costs. The quote we originally received in September 2023 remained the same all the way through until our wedding day. No extra costs for decorations or cutlery; what you see is what you get. We believe that we received incredible value for the money we paid!
If you are thinking about booking this venue, we cannot recommend it enough! The team work so hard that you don't need to stress about the small details; you can actually enjoy your wedding day as you should.

Best day ever!
The wedding meetings at 6 months and then 1 month to go were so helpful and made us feel completely at ease. Any time I emailed with a question during the planning process, I always got such a quick response, which made such a difference when there are a million things going through your head while planning a wedding! We also loved our food tasting, especially being able to bring our mums along with us, and the food on the actual day was honestly DELICIOUS (and the portions were huge!).
Lucy, our wedding coordinator, was absolutely brilliant with us from start to finish and we genuinely couldn’t have asked for anyone better. But I have to say, ALL of the staff are an absolute credit to The Venue. From the room turnarounds, the amount of bar staff serving on the night, serving the wedding breakfast, cutting and serving our cake, bringing out the evening food and everything in between, everything was just done so seamlessly.
We also loved that everything was all in one place. The venue is so spacious, beautifully clean and there was plenty of room for everyone without it ever feeling cramped.
Our wedding day was genuinely so perfect and everything went exactly how we hoped it would. We cannot thank Lucy and the whole team enough for everything they did for us and for making our day so special.
If we could do it all over again, we would choose this venue twice over! We honestly couldn’t recommend it enough.

The most beautiful Venue & amazing staff
The attention to detail, the smooth running of the day and the friendlies of Rebecca the co-ordinator and all the lovely staff. Everyone was so kind, polite and always making sure everyone was happy. Our guests were so impressed and the food was incredible 🤤😍
The day ran so smoothly, I had no worries or stress the team had everything under control, every email I sent over whilst planning our big day was responded to promptly and nothing was ever to much for any of the team.
The venue is beautiful, so picturesque and the outdoors is stunning, the minute I looked around the venue I knew it was the place for us and we wish we could do it all over.
To sum up our day at the venue, it was everything and more.

On the day itself, everything ran seamlessly, exactly as we had imagined down to the finest details. The running order went perfectly to plan, which allowed us to relax and just enjoy every moment. So many of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue looked, how polite and attentive the staff were, and — most importantly — how absolutely delicious the food was.
The food options were outstanding, and one of the highlights of the day. We decided to go for sharing boards rather than the traditional three-course meal, but we also had a taster of both during our planning. Both options were utterly delicious, and the wide variety of dishes gave us the chance to really personalise our wedding breakfast to our own tastes. Guests loved the choice and the quality was exceptional throughout.
A special mention must go to our wedding coordinator Lydia, who was simply outstanding. She had everything prepared, was always on hand if needed, and kept the whole day flowing effortlessly in the background. Her calm, organised approach meant we never had to worry about a thing.
If we could do it all again, we wouldn’t hesitate to choose this venue. We can’t thank the team enough for giving us the most unforgettable and magical day.
Wedding Review May 2025
From viewing the venue, we fell in love with it and knew we had to get married there, we booked it there and then. Nothing was too much trouble, everything we asked for was done. I felt settled and had no stress or worries about the venue and everything that went with it.
Hannah was our amazing wedding coordinator and was present throughout our special day to ensure it went perfectly. Even when being roped in to role playing last minute with the undercover waiters and being a sport!!
We would recommend 100% and would do it all again in a heartbeat! Thank you for being a part of it ❤️

All of the staff were fantastic, but Hannah, in particular, was just incredible. We genuinely didn’t want for anything, and anything we needed was provided immediately. Both of our families commented on her organisation and control of the day and we cannot thank her enough.
As two nervous brides we were made to feel calm and really, really special as soon as we arrived (from the moment we came to look around, to be honest!).
We’ve had nothing but compliments on choosing such an amazing venue as well as how dreamy the food was. And it really was.

I have worked at The Venue for three and a half crazy years now!
The best part of working at The Venue for me is how everyone who works here, and anyone who we have the pleasure of seeing get married here feels like family. From the most wondering colleagues to the amazing couples I have had the pleasure of helping, I am so incredibly grateful for the privilege of working here.
My favourite part of the wedding day is often times the first look, whether you choose to do this with your partner beforehand, or even if the first time seeing each other is walking down the aisle, the emotion you can see on someones face makes me almost as emotional as the couple!
I actually started in September 2017 as a floor staff member, then moved to working on the bar when I was old enough. After a couple of years I was then chosen to be a Team Leader. In September 2021, I was promtoted to Wedding and Events Supervisor and began working full time. A year later I became a Wedding and Events Coordinator. This year I progessed within my role to the Wedding and Events Manager.
If I had to pick my favourite part of a wedding day I’d say showing the couple the room before guests are seated for the wedding breakfast. This is always so special as it’s the first time they get to see the room that they have spent months trying to visualise in their heads. They get to wander round the tables taking in each detail and see everything come together. Additionally, it’s a time where the couple can have a moment together, away from their guests. It’s so special!
I started at The Venue last November. I have settled in so quickly it feels like I have been here for years!!
I am very lucky to work within a team that feel like family. Everyone is so supportive and we always celebrate each others successes.
I also love seeing each couple put their own spin on The Venue with their styling and ideas for their day. It makes every wedding truly unique and special.
I always think it is beautiful to see how happy the couple are when they walk back down the aisle together after the ceremony, and with their family and friends cheering for them, you can really feel the love in the air!! This is my favourite part of a wedding day!
