Hadlow Manor is an elegant countryside wedding venue located in Hadlow, Kent, between the market towns of Tonbridge and Maidstone. Situated on five acres of pastoral landscape, this grade II listed Georgian manor offers an idyllic setting for special celebrations. From intimate occasions to grand wedding galas, this charming property offers something for every event vision.

Facilities and Capacity

Hadlow Manor offers an array of indoor and outdoor spaces to host your perfect wedding event. Named after the estate’s original owners, the Goldings Room offers a delightful space to host a small wedding ceremony. Up to 50 guests can be accommodated here in theatre-style seating to witness your vow exchange. The neutral decor here allows you to easily create your own event theme within this space. The Garden Room is an ideal location for larger ceremonies, capable of comfortably accommodating 100 guests. The beautiful oak flooring is illuminated by the natural light that pours through the French doors. These doors lead to the private terrace, providing the perfect drinks reception space. The Hadlow Suite is the largest event room within the venue and is suitable for up to 120 seated guests for the wedding breakfast. Here, French doors line one side of the room and can be opened up to allow a seamless flow between the indoor event space and the private lawn. Elegant decor and Marie Therese chandeliers create a sophisticated aesthetic here. The beautiful walled gardens can serve as the perfect space for outdoor occasions. Ceremonies and seated receptions of up to 130 attendees can be accommodated here. The gardens also provide a picturesque location for wedding portraits.

Services Offered

The experienced administration at Hadlow Manor aim to accommodate all wedding event needs. Their in-house culinary team can provide a tailored wedding menu to enhance occasions. The venue has both an alcohol licence and an entertainment licence, allowing your guests to drink and dance the night away. This venue also features overnight accommodations which wedding guests are welcome to avail of. A list of preferred vendors can be provided for your convenience and the venue allows both confetti and fireworks on the premises.

    Extremely Disappointed

    We had extremely high hopes for this venue and very much looked forward to having our wedding there. As with every couple, it has been a struggle to organise a wedding in this pandemic, but after a year’s worth of correspondence with Hadlow, we thought that they would be the best last minute option after our plans with a previous venue fell through. I contacted Hadlow and asked if they had last minute availability on our specific date and they said they were completely free on this date, and that we should come and see them to discuss numbers and start planning as the time was short. My family and I struggled to book time off work as it was a weekday, and we were travelling there at their convenience, from London to Kent.

    When we arrived, we received a cold reception and were told that it was too short notice and that the event coordinator was going on holiday so she couldn’t proceed with the booking. We were very taken aback and confused. We kept asking what they could offer and what would work for them as we just wanted something very simple. Whenever they gave us their answer, we would then accept what could work for them, only for them to change their mind and make excuses as to why they could not proceed. It was then very evident that they just didn’t want to host us at all and were almost trying to put us off their venue. When we persisted, as we are flexible, they finally came outright and said they couldn’t do it. All of which they could’ve told us on the phone instead of us taking time off work and travelling all the way to them. A lot of time was wasted, time that we could’ve given to other venues in the pipeline, but we decided to prioritise Hadlow due to the long standing correspondence we had with them.

    There was even an occasion where they left us to go and ‘speak to their manager’, and after this ‘discussion’ they were very certain that they could not host us. There was no openness, honesty or good customer service. From the moment we walked up to the venue, the look we were greeted with was even off-putting. I would hate to think it had anything to do with the way we looked. Although I have a British surname and accent, I am of African descent and I would hate to think that my family and I were prejudiced because of this. Overall, extremely hurt, disappointed and left without a venue with our wedding around the corner, and family and friends abroad who have already booked tickets to travel to the UK to celebrate with us. This is the 2nd venue in a row which has fallen through due to lack of openness and honesty, which has caused everything to be so last minute.

    Hadlow Manor's reply:

    We are disappointed to receive this review from yourself we take the accusation of being prejudice very offensively. Here at the Hadlow Manor we have many staff work for us who are multicultural and diverse. We have strict procedures and policies in place and do not tolerate any homophobic or racist behaviour.

    From my understanding you was looking at holding a ceremony and evening reception for two weeks’ time. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to plan a wedding and to be able to make it a special day for the Bride and Groom.
    We were unable to accommodate the booking. The reasoning for this was simply we would not be able to offer you the high standard of service that we always strive to do, being such a short turnaround time.

    When we plan weddings we normal have all final details confirmed and arranged 6 weeks before the wedding day. We had offered to accommodate your booking at a later date of September to give us that extra time required to create your special day but understand you had a set date and was unable to push this date back.

    I’m sorry you feel you had a cold reception I can reassure you this wasn’t intended and we would have been more than happy to accommodate your booking at a later date.

    Fantastic fantastic tantastic

    My Husband & I held a secret wedding informing all our guest that we were holding a 60th Birthday Party from the time we shared our Dreams of our perfect day we couldn't ask for more Help, Support, professionalism, perfectionist from every staff member who works within the organisation at Hadlow, from start to the finish, Our guest are still talking about the event & the food which was delicious, which was served hot and served with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The young staff's energy took us right through to the following day when we attended a fantastic firework event which was a lovely evening.....A PERFECT WEEKEND Thank You Hadlow xx

    Just wanted to thank you personally for all your help with our wedding planning. I know we changed plans a few times and really appreciate how you supported this .

    The day was amazing ; I have unfortunately forgotten his name but the young man who was in charge of the day was outstanding and totally in control .
    And the food was fantastic! The chef even came out to have a chat as he wanted to make sure it was ok. All of the guests complemented the food and to the point a few asked about the venue to book in the future !
    .

    However the whole event was superb and I just wanted to say a massive thank you from myself and jemma .
    Would really appreciate if you forward this email on to the general manager of Hadlow as it really is a fantastic place and both yourself , the chef and the young man supporting the day are absolute stars !

    It was just perfect

    I just want to thank you and your team for making our function truly memorable. We all had a lovely day and we were so lucky that the weather was nice enough to open the patio doors??

    Your staff were attentive and helpful, and special thanks to Rebecca for whom nothing was too much trouble. She was so friendly and made sure everything went smoothly for us. We all enjoyed the carvery and choice of starters and desserts.

    The Garden Room is a beautiful venue and with the sun shining through the windows it was just perfect.

    It was an absolute joy

    I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you so much for everything you did for us all at my daughter Lucy and Danny's wedding last Friday. It was a stunning day from start to finish where everything went so smoothly with every member of staff/team going out of their way to be helpful, attentive and friendly without being intrusive!
    The hotel and setting was great, the rooms were very comfortable with everything we needed. It was an absolute joy!

    Obviously it was a proud day for me with any nerves eased by the calming nature of all your helpful and caring team and I really could not find fault with any aspect of our stay or the ceremony itself even if I tried. Everybody had a wonderful and memorable day for which I thank you on everyone's behalf!

    P.S. Thanks also for sorting the beautiful weather for us!!

    We could not have asked for more

    I would like to thank you and the hotel staff for the service we received at the wedding of my son Luke Heasman and Katherine Quigley on the 4th August 2016. From the moment I arrived 9.30pm on the 3rd to booking out on the 5th I could not fault the staff and the service provided. The receptionist went out her way to help me with luggage that needed to be taken to two rooms. The breakfast staff in the morning for their attentive service and then of course the wedding breakfast staff for making it all run so smoothly. All in all we could have not asked for more. Thank you to you all for making the day so special.
