Buxted Park Hotel: A Palladian country house wedding in East Sussex
Set within 312 acres of East Sussex parkland, close to Ashdown Forest, Buxted Park is a Palladian country house dating from 1722.
A sweeping drive, lakes, lawns and Georgian interiors create a strong sense of place, while three indoor and three outdoor ceremony settings give couples genuine choice. Evening celebrations can welcome up to 200 guests.
With six ceremony settings, elegant reception rooms and exclusive-use options, your celebration can be shaped entirely around you.

Our wedding packages include the essential elements of your day, from reception drinks and canapés to your wedding breakfast, wine and evening food. You will also have the support of a dedicated wedding coordinator and Master of Ceremonies.

The Orangery
Capacity: 100 for a ceremony or 70 for a wedding breakfast

An original part of the Georgian house, the Victorian Orangery is bathed in natural light and looks across the lawns and fishing lake.
The Coat of Arms Lounge
Capacity: Up to 120 guests
Best suits: Grand indoor ceremonies
The feel: Historic, dramatic and full of character
At the heart of the house, this impressive room features an original 18th-century fireplace and a stage framed by ornate stone pillars, creating the well-suited setting for a memorable entrance.
The Library
Capacity: Up to 50 guests
Best suits: Intimate ceremonies
The feel: Warm, atmospheric and timeless
With an intricately carved stone fireplace and authentic bookcases, the Library offers a characterful setting reminiscent of a bygone era.
Outdoor Ceremonies
Capacity: Up to 120 guests
Best suits: Romantic open-air vows
The feel: Natural, secluded and striking
Choose from the Orangery Lawn, Coat of Arms Lawn or Orangery Pond, each offering a different perspective across the house, parkland and surrounding countryside.
Dine and celebrate
The Ballroom
Capacity: 120 for a wedding breakfast or 200 for the evening reception

Five Empire chandeliers and full-length Georgian sash windows give the Ballroom a wonderful sense of grandeur. Doors open onto a private terrace overlooking the gardens, while a private bar and wooden dance floor set the scene for an unforgettable evening.
Outdoor dining is also available, allowing you to celebrate against the beautiful backdrop of the estate.
Food and drink
Our award-winning chefs create fresh, seasonal menus showcasing the best available regional produce. Choose from an extensive selection of dishes or work with our team to shape a menu around your tastes.
From canapés and three-course wedding breakfasts to sharing platters, barbecues, hog roasts and interactive evening food stations, every part of the dining experience is designed with care. Bespoke cocktails and themed bars can add another personal touch, while a complimentary menu tasting with wine allows you to perfect your choices.

On the wedding morning, two dedicated getting-ready rooms provide elegant private spaces for you and your wedding parties to prepare. Natural light and beautiful interiors also create the well-suited setting for those first photographs of the day.

Buxted Park has 40 elegant bedrooms, including six feature suites. Preferential accommodation rates and family-friendly rooms are available, with a full traditional breakfast included.

The staff working on the day were incredible. Our host master really made our day and felt part of our party.
The communication and support our wedding day was again amazing. The team supported us in creating our wedding day, making sure we had everything to ensure our day was perfect. This continued after our date to ensure we were happy with everything.

From the very first visit right through to our wedding day, every member of staff was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They made us feel at ease throughout the entire planning process, and nothing ever seemed too much trouble.
On the day itself, everything ran so smoothly, and that was all thanks to Mark. He was absolutely incredible from start to finish. His organisation and attention to detail were second to none, and his timings were spot on. We didn’t have to worry about a thing because we knew everything was in safe hands.
The food was absolutely amazing, and so many of our guests commented on how delicious it was. Everyone has been saying how fantastic the whole day was, and that’s a credit to the amazing team.
A special thank you to Mark for making our day even more memorable. During the speeches, emotions were running high, and he perfectly broke the ice at just the right moment, making everyone laugh and helping us all relax. It’s those little moments that made such a big difference.

Everything was perfect!
Overall, our whole experience with Buxted was superb; we would not change a thing, down to minor details like serving the bride and groom first. All the staff were outstanding and so professional, we want to say a huge thank you to all the staff who worked on the day.

The wedding team are all amazing, Gemma ,the Sales and Events Executive...we knew her as our brilliant wedding day wonder ! No request was too much trouble for her to arrange , and all our many questions were answered patiently and in such a friendly yet professional way . We felt very well looked after ,and we had trust that everything would be organised and taken care of just as we had discussed.
The entire team were attentive, friendly and put us at our ease .

The setting itself is absolutely stunning — elegant, peaceful, and the kind of place that makes every moment feel special. It created the most beautiful backdrop for our day and left a lasting impression on both us and our guests.
What truly made the experience exceptional, though, was the staff. Every single person we encountered went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their warmth and professionalism made us feel completely at ease throughout.
A very special thank you to Gemma, Marc, and Jamie, who were simply incredible. Their attention to detail, calm presence, and genuine care made all the difference. They anticipated things before we even had to ask and ensured that every part of the day was exactly how we had hoped — if not better.
We are so grateful to the entire team for creating such a magical and memorable experience. We couldn’t have chosen a better place or better people to trust with our wedding day.
The gold standard for wedding venues and inclusive service
On the wedding day itself, Phil and Jamie from the operations team were phenomenal. They managed the logistics perfectly, including making smooth adjustments on the fly to ensure everything worked for my needs as a disabled bride. The level of care from the entire hotel staff throughout our stay was second to none.
Our day wouldn't have been the same without Marc, our Master of Ceremonies. His energy is infectious, and his passion for what he does is evident from the moment you meet him. He kept the day running like clockwork while keeping the atmosphere light and joyful. We chose Buxted Park because of that personal connection, and they delivered beyond our wildest dreams. To any couple looking for a venue that offers grandeur paired with a warm, family feel—this is it.

Perfect. Absolutely perfect.
From the moment we visited we knew it was the place for us; the grounds and hotel are stunning and the team are experts in what they do. Every member of staff we interacted with through the whole process were so incredibly kind and knowledgeable, and nothing was too much trouble. Our guests have all commented on how wonderful everything was from their perspective too. The food was amazing and plentiful, drinks were flowing and the evening fireworks, oh my goodness - extraordinary.
Special mentions have to go to Gemma who has answered countless emails over the months in the run up with professionalism, care and friendly humour - you are an angel thank you. And also to Marc and Jamie who kept our day running perfectly to time, thank you.
We cannot recommend Buxted Park enough, no notes and no changes. Just wish we could do it all over again.

I'm Becca and I have the pleasure of managing our incredible, award-winning wedding team here at Buxted Park Hotel.
I have worked for over 20 years in weddings, delivering seamless, bespoke and memorable wedding days. My team and I would love to show you around the facilities here and to help bring your dream day to life.
My favourite part of my job is getting to know our couples, it is so important that you have a good rapport with your wedding venue and co-ordinator and we pride ourselves on communication and service delivery from your first contact. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, that's why we are here to help and guide you each step of the way.
What I love about Buxted Park is the endless possibilities! We have over 300 acres for you and your guests to enjoy, we have 6 ceremony locations and 40 stunning bedrooms including our impressive suites.

Meet Mark Carter, Head Chef at Buxted Park Hotel.
Chef leads our brigade of award winning chef's who created delicious menus for your enjoyment. Mark has 40 years of experience, an impressive 10 of which have been at Buxted Park Hotel.
Chef's favorite dish for a wedding breakfast is our Roast saddle of lamb, dauphinoise potato, carrot purée, buttered spinach, wild mushroom cream.
"Our menus are extensive but not exhaustive, we are more than happy to build a bespoke menu for you and you will have the opportunity to try them during your menu tasting."
My name is Gemma and I am a Wedding co-ordinator here at Buxted Park. I have been planning weddings and events here for over 10 years and am excited to be planning my own wedding here 2027!
Over the years i have had the pleasure of planning many weddings and each one has been completely different and unique to the couple.
