We wanted a one venue wedding with excellent food! Living abroad meant we needed help with planning and sorting. Liam was amazing throughout the whole process. Nothing was too much to ask. Just so so helpful.

We chose the venue initially because we loved the Radleys space downstairs with its games, pool table and different areas.

The space for the ceremony and wedding breakfast is so light and joyful. Our winter wedding felt light and warm all day. The beautiful decor and stylish furnishings meant our wedding felt modern. We knew we didn’t want anywhere too old fashioned and stuffy. So many guests have commented on how the venue was fun, vibrant and felt really personal. Rooms are gorgeous too.

We had an incredible Wedding day at The Lion and Swan. We only wish we could do it all again.

Everything was truly perfect from start to finish. The day was nothing short of amazing—filled with so much love, laughter, and pure joy. Every detail felt thoughtful, seamless, and beautifully executed, allowing us (and our guests) to be fully present and soak in every moment.

We had the most amazing evening wedding reception at The Lion and Swan. From start to finish, the experience was flawless. All of our questions leading up to the big day were answered quickly and clearly—Liam was incredible, making sure every detail was spot-on.

The atmosphere on the night was perfect, the DJ kept the energy going, and the food was absolutely delicious. Our whole family had such a fantastic time and haven’t stopped talking about it.

We recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Lion and Swan. Liam the wedding co-ordinator just made the whole affair effortless from start to finish. The personal attention he gave to us throughout was absolutely brilliant. The venue itself was just perfect, from a beautiful relaxed ceremony room, to exquisite dining in Pecks for the meal, catering for everyone's needs, completed by a fun filled party in Radley's. The staff, food, surroundings, service, absolutely everything was of the highest standard. The whole team created the most perfect magical day, that we and all of our guests will cherish. Liam and the team could not do enough for us! From the start Liam has been responsive and organised, taking any stress away from us. Liam went above and beyond to make our day extra special from ensuring the best 6 piece band was chosen for our evening, to providing bubbles and breakfast for me and my bridal party. Liam throughout the day was attentive and no request was too much. We had access to the full venue- having our ceremony in the terrace, wedding breakfast in the restaurant and evening in Radleys. Guests enjoyed the flow from each part of the venue, all whilst staying in one place for ease. The food was 10/10 from canapes, wedding breakfast and evening. I would 100% recommend Liam, the team and the Lion & Swan for a wedding.

We had the most joyous and fun wedding day at The Lion and Swan, and we can’t recommend it highly enough. The venue itself is fantastic with a bright and modern ceremony room, a charming restaurant, and cool cellar bar, creating the perfect flow to the day.

We can't thank Liam and the team enough for the effort they put into helping us plan our wedding. The venue was perfect for us, and our guests keep telling us how much they loved it. Liam was brilliant, and helped us with anything we needed, keeping in contact with us regularly as well as checking in on the day. The food was amazing, we chose to have pies and the team helped us to have them 'sharing style' which worked really well for what we wanted. We were able to make choices on everything we wanted. We would recommend this venue to anyone for their wedding, we are so glad that we chose it for our day!

The Lion and Swan is a beautifully modern and contemporary venue, which suited our style perfectly. One of the things we loved most was that it didn’t need much extra décor — it’s already so stylish and well-presented that it speaks for itself. On the day, everything looked immaculate, with a lovely, warm atmosphere throughout. The venue felt intimate and private, and was just the right size for our guest list — it never felt too big or too small.
There are also plenty of amazing photo spots, but our personal favourite was the cobbled courtyard. It had the exact kind of architecture we love and gave our photos such a timeless feel.

We’ll be honest — at first, we were a little apprehensive, as the initial wedding planner we dealt with didn’t seem very organised, which made us a bit nervous. But everything changed when Liam took over. He was absolutely amazing from the start. His communication was spot-on throughout the planning process, and he truly went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. You could tell he genuinely cared about making our day special, and his passion for what he does really shone through.
On the day itself, Liam handled everything so professionally that we didn’t even know there had been any issues that needed resolving until after the wedding! That alone shows how brilliant and calm he was — we didn’t have to worry about a thing.
The rest of the team were just as lovely. Every single staff member was friendly, helpful, and created such a positive, welcoming atmosphere. You could tell they were happy to be part of the day, and our guests commented on how brilliant they all were.

The ceremony was lovely and ran very smoothly — it felt really special. One small piece of feedback is that the getting-ready room didn’t have a hook or designated place to hang a wedding dress. Given that The Lion and Swan is becoming such a popular wedding venue, adding a hook or small rail would be a great addition for future brides.
The flow of the day was excellent. From the ceremony to drinks, dinner, and then the evening celebration, everything was well-paced and really well managed. The staff were great at guiding guests from one part of the day to the next without it ever feeling rushed or disorganised.
The food at the wedding breakfast was very good, although we did notice a slight difference from what we tasted during our trial. We completely understand how difficult it is to cater for a large group, but it might be helpful for couples if the tasting experience is a little closer to what’s served on the day. That said, the evening food really exceeded our expectations — we were so impressed!
As for the evening — the Radley & Co bar was perfect. If you’re a couple who loves dancing, music, and nights out, this space will feel like a dream. It had the vibe of a really cool bar, but with all of your favourite people in one place. The DJ (who was included in the package) was absolutely fantastic and nailed the playlist we had requested. It really brought the night to life.

We had the best time at our friends wedding at The Lion & Swan honestly, what a stunning day from start to finish! Everything felt so smooth and well thought out, and you could just tell how much love and effort had gone into planning it all. The wedding breakfast on the terrace was gorgeous, and the drinks reception after was such a vibe.

The food all day was incredible-you could tell it had been tailored specially for the couple, which made it feel really personal. Dinner at Pecks Restaurant was beautiful, and we loved having the lounge area to relax in before the evening celebrations began. Then Radley & Co really spiced things up. The band and the games had everyone up socialising, dancing, and just having the best time, it felt like a mini private festival.

Special shoutout to Liam, the wedding coordinator. He was just the best. So helpful, calm, and always on hand, whether it was sorting out corsages or handling the final little touches. You could see how much care he put into making the day perfect. As guests, we felt so welcomed and looked after from start to finish. The whole team were warm, friendly and genuinely happy to be part of the day.

Our wedding at The Lion and Swan in Congleton truly was the best day of our lives. For the evening, I would highly recommend Radleys. What an amazing atmosphere downstairs! The fun games like the pool, darts, and shuffleboard added a great touch to the celebration, and the vibe was perfect for keeping the energy high into the night.

From start to finish, the team at The Lion and Swan were excellent and made our day so special. During the run up to the big day, Jess couldn’t have been more helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her nor the rest of the team. Everything was well organised and this put our minds at ease and allowed us to relax and enjoy ourselves.

We had the best day celebrating our wedding at the Lion & Swan in Congleton! We started with initial discussions over 1 1/2 years ago with Jess, the hotel's brilliant wedding co-ordinator. From choosing the drinks and food menu, to all sorts of dietary requirements, live music requests, arrangements with our photographer, celebrant, hairdresser etc. - with Jess' support, everything was stress-free for us. The food was fantastic (thanks to the lovely chef) and the service team were very cheerful and caring throughout the day. The Lion & Swan was the ideal venue for us as we had some friends and family coming from abroad who were able to stay at this beautiful hotel. The bridal suite is very spacious so you can get ready for the big day in the morning along with your bridesmaids. We can also highly recommend the great breakfast the next morning! To summarise, 3 things stood out: 1. stunning location with the mix of newly renovated bright rooms and elements of historic charm (lovely for photos) 2. exceptional service and food quality with a motivated team 3. the great organisational support from the wedding coordinator Jess during the preparation & also on the special day

Our wedding day at The Lion & Swan was perfect from start to finish, we wish we could relive the day all over again. Our wedding co-ordinator Hess communicated with us through the whole process and made it very easy and enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble and jess was always happy to assist with any requests from choosing our package and tweaking things to accommodate us. We created our own menu with the knowledge and advice from the chef who produced a delicious meal which all of our friends and family enjoyed. The addition of canapés to our package was the perfect add to our drinks reception, we were able to choose from a wide selection and also request our own additions. The squid ink and crab arancini is a must! Jess and the team made sure the day ran smoothly and were happy to help at any point, all the staff are so friendly and we’re happy to make our day special. We chose the terrace for our ceremony and drinks reception, Leone for our wedding breakfast and a section of the lounge area was roped off for our break before the evening guests arrived. Our evening celebration was held in Radley & co which was the perfect setting to get the party started, the stage area was set up for our band Double Lively and then followed by Jorge Martin as DJ organised by the venue. We highly recommend this venue for your wedding if you are looking for a relaxed well organised stress free day this is the prefect place for your celebration.
