You know when you just have that great feeling about somewhere? To put this into perspective:
We had arranged our wedding very quickly due to cultural beliefs.
As we were driving to Over Barn to view it for the first time. I was asked by my now Wife, whether or not it was the right day. In my head "of course it is, i booked it" but paranoia got the best of me. We pulled over and checked the date for the appointment. I had clearly got it wrong.

I convinced my wife that don't worry we'll go see the venue anyway, worst comes to worse they say no and that we have to be turned away.

When we got there we asked to see Sam, a wedding was being setup for the day. Sam still took the time to explain everything to us and was very patient when answering our questions even though he probably had a million other things to do. When we looked inside we fell in love.

A beautiful barn that had been restored perfectly. It has a balcony part over the bar area, the upstairs is perfect gor reception drinks. This leads into the bridal room. With sofas and large area enough for the the bride and her bridesmaids and the mothers to get ready in.

We looked at each other after we had looked around and pretty much said to each other that this was the one.

Sam, your ability to put us at ease when we had one million different questions and concerns is truly amazing, your fun, positive, and easy-going nature made working with you such a lovely experience.

On the day of the wedding your clear leadership and your calm but confident team management skills showed as each member of your team had the same approach. You can see the dedication Sam has as any requests made on the day was met with "yep, we're on it" or "absolutely". Sam was always extremely easy to get in contact with on the day of the wedding. Thank you for walking me through how things would work in the morning with the registrars. It was a detail I had mostly forgotten about.

You made sure that the day went of without a hitch and for that we are extremely grateful. Without your hardwork I don't think our wedding would have been as amazing as it was 🖤.
If you could thank Christine as well. She let us know some really important information and moved some stuff when I was panicking on the morning.

Thank you to the staff that made the turn around from the ceremony to the breakfast quick and easy.

Josh, the food was amazing. We couldn't have asked for more. We obviously loved your food on the taster day, but your skills as a chef really showed on our wedding day. People were raving about the food. With food being such a big part of both mine, Hannah's and our families life. We appreciate the effort into making each dish. Thank you for the bigger slice of Sticky Toffee pudding, probably one of the best ones I have ever eaten. Which is a feat in itself as it is my favourite desert.

Your catering team that helped out on the day were brilliant. I loved their honesty, if they didn't know something they would go back and double check to make sure which is greatly appreciated when the tables have different dietary requirements.

Josh and the team put their food out very quickly, do not mistake this as rushed. As the presentation of the food looked sublime and the quality of the food was top notch. We can't wait to come back to Over Farm and eat more of your food.


Cameron thanks for making sure that Sam's hardwork and standards was still maintained in the evening. You are and the bar staff were amazing and extremely quick to respond to our guests.

We had the pleasure of attending this well known local venue as a Husband wife photography team for a wedding held in February. The Venue is really conveniently located in Gloucester and well presented by a friendly team dedicated to providing couples with a dream wedding experience.

The venue offers a great starting point for those who wish to add their own Decor, making it well suited for those quirky crafty weddings we love. There is ample opportunity to create a really unique experience here. The wedding we attended had a Viking/Pagan theme which worked really well in the space. A perfect venue for an axe exchange ceremony! Over Barn also allow pets onsite for a wedding day, so no VIPS have to miss out on your special day :)

The locally based couple picked this venue because they felt very comfortable there after visiting so many times with their children. Over barn is very child friendly, for weddings planned with lots of children in attendance it is ideally equipped with everything needed to keep them happy throughout the day like a skittle alley, a menagerie of resident animals and easily accessible onsite accommodation for midday meltdowns.

The bar offered a good variety of drink options at very reasonable prices, keeping the big kids happy too. This wedding was self catered so we can't comment on the venue's food offering other than to say that the quality of the award winning Over Farm Market is outstanding, with many of our local favorites from Tubby Tom seasonings to Cherry moo ice cream.

The 19th century barn itself has lots of beautiful rustic character, even in February all of the the spaces were kept warm and comfortable with a super fast turnaround time from ceremony to reception with space for 120 people with tables and 180 without. The lighting provided a wonderful ambience for the band to perform and without the tables there was ample room for guests to dance.

As photographers the venue offered us plenty of different backdrops such as the iconic Over Barn door, the steel sheds for a modern feel or the farmland itself. There are many more to be explored such as the woodlands and animal encounters, with a continually changing aesthetic throughout the seasons we cant wait to return to capture more beautiful memories here!

We where so lucky to be able to have our viking themed wedding here over the weekend.

From the moment we visited we knew this was the venue for us. Sam and his team where wonderful right from the start feo providing us with numerous meetings and open communication from booking.

We choose a winter wedding package for 70 guests including hog roast which was a incredible value! We wouldn't of been able to do this in a short time scale without such an amazing price and compassionate management. Who where able to address any and all issues or fears we had during the planning!

We are a nerospicy couple with family and friends with a range of visible and unseen needs. So naturally we where worried about how the day would go ! I shouldn't of worried at all. Sam and his staff took this and boy did they go with it! All our guests felt comfortable to be themselves and the staff where incredibly accommodating.

Of course over barn itself is a idlic and a beautiful setting in its self, its so easy to make it your own theme plus with use of props was a huge bonus, but we would not of had such a stress free and comfortable day if it wasn't for the excellent staff on site.
They where so down to earth and made us ans the guests feel extra special ! Cam, was truly professional as well as down to earth with a brilliant sense of hunor. Jordan was so amazing with our daughter when she has a stumble (First aid trained and ped trained what a bonus!!) I was able to know she was in great hands with her and could carry on getting our photos taken!

The Hog roast in the evening was truly epic and so much more than we expected noone went hungry that day!!

We stayed at the onsite accommodation (the cowsheds) which were clean, functional, rustic and great value ! Surprisingly incredibly warm for the time of year as well!! Only slight issue was after a few drinks it can be fiddly to open the locks to the bathroom but overall very impressed!!

Don't hesitate with booking! This venue really has it all!!!

Well, what a day! I can't thank the staff enough, Sam the Wedding coordinator for helping make it a very special day, and Josh for cooking unbelievable food! Charlie for helping sort the tables and the bar staff for being so friendly and upbeat during their busy shift! All my guests have said what a beautiful venue OverBarn is and it truly is! It's a mixture of Boho and Rustic and just perfect! I'm so sad it's over but I've made memories for a lifetime! Such a beautiful place from the gardens with a skittle alley, firepit and real tree benches! Oh, and the bar is a tree! ahh so much to say and so much appreciation. Just thank you!

Over Barn - firstly a huge thank you to Sam who has been in touch with us since we first visited the barn on one of their open days. This really is a beautiful venue and everyone was so helpful.
Myself, the bridesmaids and my mum stayed in the stables the night before which were lovely and cosy. The morning of the wedding we hired out the bridal suite which was very very spacious for the 7 of us (plus 3 hair and beauticians) getting ready in the morning. I loved that this was upstairs and we didn’t have to leave the venue at all!
The whole day and night was absolutely perfect and we wouldn’t change a thing about it. Thank you so much Sam and team for the best day ever

We got married at Over Barn this July and had the best day! We were so so pleased with the venue and would hugely recommend it.

We were looking for somewhere with a laid-back, outdoorsy feel that would give us the flexibilty to plan a relaxed, festival-style wedding, and we were so delighted when we found Over Barn, it was perfect! We imagined most of the day being outdoors but wanted somewhere where we had a good indoor option too, in case of bad weather. In the end Over Barn was absolutely ideal for this. We had all weathers in one day, including a thunderstorm, but the covered areas all around the courtyard meant that we managed to stay mostly outside - exactly as we hoped!

We opted for a bbq rather than a formal sit down meal, and it was lovely to have a venue manager who was easy-going enough to accommodate our ideas and not pressure us into formal seating plans or doing things in the 'usual way!'

We had the ceremony indoors and the barn was an absolutely beautiful setting for this, as well as later in the evening for dancing!

Our guests loved the skittles alley and meeting the farm animals. Lots of us camped, so it was ideal to have the campsite just 100m away from the venue! It was also amazing to have such a rural feeling venue so close to Gloucester - meaning it was ideal for any guests getting the train and for people to find accommodation easily.

All of the staff were wonderful! Sam, the venue manager was so helpful and couldn't do enough for us during set-up and on the day. All the bar staff were wonderful too, and we'd definitely recommend using Over Farm's caterers - the bbq they did for us was incredible and again they were so lovely and easy to communicate with (we'll write a full review on their page!).

We're so glad we found Over Barn, and would really recommend it! Thanks to all the team!

We had our wedding reception at Over Barn on 27th May 2023 and we are so lucky to have had the most amazing day. The venue itself is just so beautiful and all of our guests absolutely loved it. The layout is perfect and the courtyard/ barn ensures everyone is all together. You don’t need a load of fancy decorations as the barn itself is beautiful, and there is plenty of space to go off and explore for photos. The staff were all so amazing and nothing was too much trouble for them on the day. They allowed a very laid back atmosphere, but helped to keep everything running smoothly.

A special mention has to go to Josh (Over Barn caterer). He simply was incredible! He was available whether to discuss initial ideas, answer questions and even once we’d submitted our final food we had a few late changes which he accommodated. We had canapés (with the star of the show being the sausages), the hog roast in the day followed by sticky toffee pudding, and then wood fired pizzas in the evening. All the guests said how delicious the food was and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Josh even bought us our own tray of canapés to ensure we got to try them (we didn’t ask). If you are booking Over Barn, we recommend you also book catering as Josh was great.

We also want to say a massive thank you to Sam. He was there throughout the planning process and helped bring the whole day together. He is very flexible and laid back and offered brilliant and reasonably priced packages (e.g., for set up and pack down, the drinks for the day etc). Sam and his team did an amazing job of setting up the venue and allowed us to come and go in the days beforehand to set up additional decorations/parts of the day. Sam’s team were a credit to Over Barn on the day and looked after all the guests brilliantly. We can’t recommend Over Barn highly enough - thank you!! (From Cara and Mike) xxx

We recently had our wedding at Over Barn, both the ceremony and the reception. From the beginning of the planning stage to the days after the 'big day', Sam and the staff at Over Barn did everything in their power to make the process calm and relaxing. Any time I had questions, someone was available to answer them (and I had a lot of questions!).
The Barn itself is beautiful, full of rustic charm, plenty of inside and outside space for a wedding, whatever the British weather brings. There is an option to hire props through 'The Stable' which has loads of small and larger items to help bring your vision to life including a whole range of jars, bottles and candle holders, signs, dried flowers and large display items.
There are lots of different packages to choose from, including length of hire, accommodation, drinks and food options (if you decide to go with the amazing Over Farm Catering), covering all types of budgets, which we found really helpful.
On the day, I was so grateful to the staff, who came to update me regularly on what was happening, but always found someone else to discuss questions or problems with. The whole place looked amazing, in part thanks to Sam who came in early to set up many of the larger decorations for me as a surprise.

I am so glad that we chose Over Barn for our wedding. It is a place that I will always remember.

From the moment we visited over barn at an open day we fell in love with not only the venue but the overall ‘vibe’ of the place. Sam the barn manager could not have been more helpful and supportive from start to finish. The whole process felt so friendly and personal rather than transactional and clinical (a feeling we got when visiting other wedding venues in the local area). Sam kept us feeling relaxed and made the whole wedding planning process enjoyable and exciting rather than stressful, we truly cannot thank him enough. He was on hand on the big day and so attentive to anything we needed, he even filmed my entrance for me and sent it over the following day 🤍 Our dream wedding was to be relaxed and ‘not stuffy’, over barn certainly delivered and we had the most magical day! All the staff at the barn we so attentive and really made our wedding day vision come to life! Our flower girl (dog) Bonnie was welcomed and fussed by the staff all day, having free roam to get involved with the celebrations - this was so important to my husband and one of the only venues we found to be completely dog friendly! Josh from over barn provided the catering for our day and evening food and I cannot tell you how many compliments were received about the food. Delicious and plentiful our guests were well fed all day, again something that was so important to us- Josh got the memo and certainly delivered creating a bespoke menu for us to meet our needs and catering to dietary requirements fantastically throughout! If we were to have our wedding again I would not change a single thing! Absolutely spectacular from start to finish! Thank you so much Sam, Josh and all the over barn team 😍🤍

A stunning space on its own, full of character & plenty of charm! Super chilled vibe allows you to do what you’d like to personalise the space, with as much or as little input as you need from the venue.
A well run staff who really helped make the day run smoothly and meant there was no need to worry so we could just enjoy our day. Super dog friendly space too!

The bar is really well stocked and they were able to cater to requests for toasts. The outdoor space is simply brilliant, giving everyone a space throughout the day. The use of the bridal suite was great, made even better with the new addition of a toilet. The bridal suite allowed us to keep things close to hand and meant you were never far from the action!

The opportunity to have the space for two days allowed us to really personalise what we wanted, making our celebration day just that, a celebration and good party!

We really couldn’t have had a better day, thank you so much!!

Oven Barn is a fantastic place to get married. On the day, they were so helpful and did everything to make sure the day ran so smoothly. They’re a great team and we would highly reccomend using Over Farm Market as catering - the food was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble and we were well looked after. Literally, the best day of our lives.

I would like to thank all of my staff (Sam, Josh, Cameron to name a few) involved in making our beautiful day so special and stress free. We fell in love with Over barn as soon as we went to view it last October. There is no other venue like it full of character with it’s beautiful wooden barn features and charm to the fairy lights that made the evening all the extra magical. We could not recommend this venue enough.

Wow team Over barn! It was an incredible day. You truly are amazing! From start to finish planing the day all the staff were absolutely fantastic. Sam over saw all the booking/meetings at the venue pre wedding to discuss ideas. Nothing was to much trouble always taking the time to answer all of my hundreds of questions. Josh from catering at Over was fantastic took time to create us a bespoke menu arrange all of the extra bits we wanted for a more afternoon tea style relaxed feast! Food was 10/10 every single guest commented on the delicious food and presentation. Nothing was to much trouble with Josh sorting and providing food to suit all of our guests dietary requirements. Evening food we had pizza/winter bbq which went down a treat. With some of our vegan guest commenting it was the best vegan pizza they had ever had.

The whole team on the day went above and beyond for us and our guest super friendly and caring individuals who genuinely seemed interested and willing to help all day and night. They made sure i always had a drink in hand and they did a fantastic job making sure every detail happened according to plan. From lighting of candles to the table change around early evening. All stress free we didn’t even have to think about it on the day.

We planed the wedding start to finish in 5 months and went without a hitch! Over has a brilliant store of decorations that can be hired that we used. The skittle ally and outdoor games went down a treat with our children and other younger guests. We wanted a veune our children could also enjoy and the outside area of over was perfect. Kids could play inside and out knowing we could shut the gate in to the courtyard it felt safe for our children to play in and not going far out of sight.

You guys really and truly go above and beyond when it comes to wedding expectations.

For anyone looking for a venue that is intimate, stunning and takes as much stress out of the planning process as possible, I cannot recommend Over Barn enough!
