As you coast gently downhill from the granite-speckled heights and wild, sweeping contours of Bodmin moor, the open expanses give way to a dense wooded valley. In a wonderfully secluded spot, where lush hills tumble into the idyllic river valley below and a picture-perfect patchwork of orchards and meadows cloaks the horizon, you’ll find The Green. A ready-made wedding village, The Green is a wholly private and endlessly pretty place to get married. Whether it’s a large-scale, traditional affair, a cosy DIY country celebration or a laid-back festival-style party, the ethos is one of flexibility. A series of options are available depending on the scale of your celebration. Share your wedding day with up to 140 guests, with adaptable function space for smaller groups and offer up to three days of 5 Star luxury accommodation to 32 of your closest friends and family. Surrounded by breathtaking views, our picturesque 20-acre private estate has its own lovely orchard, wild meadows, enchanting woods and a tranquil lake. So there are endless idyllic settings for beautiful photographs of your special day.
We have many locations where you can exchange your vows. Our Oak Arbour is outdoors, set on the hillside and framed by two majestic English oaks; it looks down onto a canopy of trees in the lush green valley below. Our Lake Arbour is set by the river beside our lake nestled amongst the trees.
If the weather isn’t kind we have some gorgeous indoor options for you too. Our Wedding Barn is just adorable with tons of character and original beams and oak floors. If you are looking for something a bit more DIY then our Really Rustic Barn has lots of scope for styling to your own taste. Or, with its dramatic wall of glass and flooded with natural light, the Green Room is a stunning, contemporary space for an indoor ceremony.
For your reception we have our stunning Red Brick Barn. It’s hard to believe that our Red Brick Barn was once a cow shed. The red brick walls and original beams have been lovingly retained but the rest is pure sparkle and glamour. The front of the barn has floor to ceiling doors that open fully to views over Kitt Hill and distant Dartmoor. The outside is clad in oak and there is oak flooring.
The Green Room Bar is perfect for drinks. Natural light pours through its spectacular glass front?and there are stunning views towards Caradon Hill and the mysterious tors of Bodmin Moor. Simply decorated with white walls and solid oak floors, the Green Room is a blank canvas waiting for you to make it your own.
If you are looking for something smaller the house and cottages also offer beautiful options for intimate ceremonies and wedding celebrations.

Beautiful venue for all sized weddings
We eloped at this venue and it was amazing! So relaxed and stress free... The day was a breeze, just what me and my husband wanted. Everyone made so much effort to make the day special and how we wanted it to be.Sent on 04/07/2019
Special thanks to Catherine as she really did make the day so easy, relaxed and personal to us. The actual venue itself is beautiful and would be good for any size wedding. Set in really lovely grounds with lovely views all around you. There are different rooms/bar for you to have your guests celebrate with you.

a truly magical elopement
We eloped! And everything was so easy and magical. I had to call to doublecheck I wasn’t forgetting anything, but I wasn’t! The whole team had our wedding under control, and it was the best day of our lives, truly. We arrived the day before, the cottage was beautiful and filled with so many delicious treats. We were met by the amazing Cathryn the day before, and although she wasn't our witness she did an amazing job of explaining how our day would run and relaying our wants to wonderful Andrea. Our private chef was wonderful, he cooked the most delicious 3-course meal for us- it was a perfect way to end the day. The grounds were stunning, and it was all-round the calmest I have ever felt. The staff felt like members of the family; they were just as excited for us as we were. I was sad to have left them without a proper goodbye. Despite not getting married in our original location due to the weather (it didn’t matter in the end!) we got married in the beautifully decorated barn. It didn’t matter that it was just us two, Andrea pulled out all the stops to ensure our wedding was perfect – everything from helping me put on my dress, to decorating the arbour after the ceremony for photographs. I am truly blessed to have found the green – just a wonderful location with the most wonderful, down to earth staff. And the photos on the grounds and surrounding area were breath-taking, the location makes the photos and this was the best location for us. Thank you The Green Jack and I will never forget the efforts you put in to ensure we had a lovely wedding and Thank you to our wonderful photographer Tom frost for capturing the day - I would highly recommend both!

Where to start - everything was absolutely perfect! We had the most spectacular day! As an event manager by trade, it was fantastic to work with such a professional and knowledgeable team. Everything we discussed was passed on to our wedding co-ordinator on the day, down to the very last detail.
We send our most sincere and grateful thanks to Cathryn. She was brilliant on both Friday and Saturday, putting my stressing mind at ease and taking care of everything. I was really worried I wouldn't be able to relax on the day, but the professional and personable nature of all the staff meant I was calm and loved every second with my friends and family (and groom, of course!)
I can't recommend The Green highly enough! The food was fantastic, the service was brilliant and the venue was perfect. Thank you and the team so much!Sent on 29/04/2019
