The Flying Fish Barn

The flying fish is a beautiful venue and the staff are amazing. Julie the wedding coordinator is so lovely and no matter what your request she makes it happen. We first saw the flying fish at a friends wedding and knew it would be the place for us. We recently got married on 10/10/2026 and everything went so smoothly, you didn’t even notice the staff they just made it happen effortlessly! Everything was beautiful all the decor was placed so perfectly and the way they flip the room around for the dinner is just amazing. So many comments from guests on how great the venue and staff where and how beautiful the barn is! Everything was perfect and I cannot thank you enough for our special day being so great. Me and my husband recently got married here (03/10/26) and it was honesty the most incredible day. Julie was amazing, she made everything run so smoothly, I didn’t feel like I did anything, she sorted everything out!

When we first walked into the barn, I knew that was where I wanted to get married. The venue was stunning, and all of the staff made the day run so smoothly and effortlessly, we didn’t even notice them!

The food was incredible, we opted for the carvery and everyone loved it. Was definitely a hit!

Where do I start? We had our big at on the 11th July, from our very first visit we knew the Flying Fish Wedding Barn was where we wanted our special day.
Its just perfect, beautiful location, plenty of character and charm with a fantastic hard working team that are dedicated to making your big day the best it can be.
From our very first meet and greet Julie was amazing. Very informative, knowledgeable and professional. No question was too big or small, no question was left unanswered, no matter what time or day it was I always received a reply promptly. Above all Julie kept me calm and feeling in control, helped me more than she will ever know. Even with the last minute additions and extra touches it all went without a hitch.
The day flowed smoothly with no issues at all. I can not begin to imagine the stress and hard work that goes on behind the scenes but none of that showed throughout the day. All of the team we still so friendly, helpful and professional throughout.
The food was great, presented lovely, tasted amazing and plenty of it.
The feedback we have had from our guests was lovely, all complimenting the venue, food and staff, it all went great.
Having family travel some way to be with us the accommodation was just what we needed. The space so close to be able to arrive, settle in and get ready without the mad dash from 1 place to another.
Breakfast the next morning with everyone was the perfect way to finish off our weekend. There was plenty of options so it catered for everyone.
The hard work the team put in the night before made our morning very easy. Everything was placed on a few tables near the doors so all we had to do was box it up and pack it in the van, very much appreciated after the long day before ❤️
The time, effort and planning that went into it all before hand was more than worth it. If we had the chance we of doing it again, we would in a heartbeat and would definitely pick the Flying Fish and thier Team with no hesitation.

We viewed this venue on the 2nd of July 2024, and can honestly say we were blown away by the interior when the barn doors were opened by Julie Grey.

It had everything we wanted from a venue and was set up for a wedding ceremony.

We wanted an all in one place wedding - stay the night before, get ready day of, Marry, celebrate with friends and family and guest accommodation.

We didn’t have a budget at the time, but the wedding package was really affordable and the bonus for us, was that none of our friends had gotten married there and the venue truly felt like our own.

Julie Grey is the Wedding Coordinator and no question was too stupid and was answered promptly and professionally.
She did a fantastic job on the day and calmed me down before I walked down the aisle with my mum.

The staff that helped during the day were all polite and helpful and indulged in playing with our outdoor games in the garden which was sweet to see.

Nothing was too much trouble and the food was amazing, catered to many different food intolerances, so everyone could eat safely.

Julie Grey was and is amazing - she listened and made the whole day run smoothly from start to finish.

Buddy and Kate, the owners have a truly wonderful venue and pub and nothing was too much trouble, cleaning and making up guest rooms, extra toilet roll too.

If I could do it all again, I’d do it tomorrow xx

My husband (!) & I had the most perfect day from start to finish. The venue is beautiful and is decorated the way you ask it to be. Julie was so helpful throughout the whole process and is a really chill, calming presence. Everyone on the day was lovely and helpful. The food was delicious. Surroundings are stunning. Compared to the cost of some places, The Flying Fish is very budget friendly. The room we stayed in was nice and lovely breakfast the next day also. Our day was everything we dreamed of and every single person that came said it was great :) thank you so much for making our special day so special x

We had our wedding at the Flying Fish in early May 2026, and our day was even better than we had hoped.
From the very start, Julie, the Wedding Coordinator at the Flying Fish, was incredibly helpful - always clear about what we needed to do and when, and very responsive throughout the planning process. The pricing was very transparent, and Julie shared lots of excellent local supplier recommendations. We used the photographer and DJ she suggested, and both were absolutely brilliant.
On the day itself, everything ran seamlessly. The staff were fantastic, the food was delicious, and the room turnaround happened so quickly. It rained for most of the day, but the team were so flexible, allowing guests to use the room during the changeover. Even with the rain, there is lots of space across the pub and barn, and the staff were very accommodating. Julie even asked her husband to bring along some Lego to keep the children entertained, which was such a thoughtful touch.
The barn looked beautiful, with plenty of space for tables and dancing. Food-wise, we chose the Caribbean buffet, and lots of our guests said it was the best food they’d had at a wedding.
If you’re looking for an exceptionally well-organised, relaxed yet beautiful and truly personal day, with delicious food, we couldn’t recommend the Flying Fish more highly.

We had our wedding at the Flying Fish in March and it was honestly the most perfect day!

From the moment I arrived the day before, everyone made me feel like a VIP - even having a delicious cooked breakfast delivered to my room on the morning of the wedding.

The wedding was perfect! The venue is beautiful, the food was incredible and everything ran so smoothly. Everyone involved was amazing, friendly and super helpful.

Julie was so amazing throughout the entire process! And we can’t thank her and her team enough for making our wedding so wonderful!

All of our guests have since commented on how lovely the venue is and how delicious the food was. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding.

I would recommend the Flying Fish to anyone who wants to have the most amazing and unforgettable wedding day!

Honestly what a wonderful venue, myself and my now husband visited the flying fish while we where living in somerset and knew straight away we wanted to get married there. We ended up moving up North but the communtcation from Julie to arrange everything was amazing, my father had cancer and Julie was extremely understanding with everything with delays and sorted everything out for us to make sure we had the best day. We ended up doing the legal bit early due to my dad's declining health but still wanted a ceremony on the day we had booked, a friend was ment to do the cermony but pulled out last minute but Julie stepped in and honestly was amazing and so understanding and stood up to do our cermony as most of our guests didnt know we had to do the legal bit early. But about the day we stayed the night before and the staff and Julie where amazing, we had arranged for my dad's food to be easier to eat due to added throat cancer the staff had no issue helping us with this request. The day went smoothly even though it was very windy and tad wet, Julie did amazing doing our cermony and the quick turn around for the meal which is 5 star 🌟 great flavours. Another turn around for the dance floor and it was all great decorated brillant with proper barn vibes. We couldn't of asked for a better day with relaxed vibes and nothing to worry about. I would 100% reccomend The Flying Fish, Julie and there wonderful staff to anyone.

We decided to book our wedding at the Flying Fish Wedding Barn and what a beautiful day it was. The price is very reasonable and we got to decorate the venue exactly how we wanted with our own decorations. Julie and her team were absolutely amazing and bought the barn to life with the decorations we provided. Julie is a lovely lady who was very attentive and supportive to myself, she made sure the day ran smoothly and ensured everyone was where they needed to be and on time. She provided me with comfort and reassurance when I had last minute guest drop outs and helped me rearrange last minute seating plans.

The food was delicious and there was plenty to go around, our guests loved it and were diving to the buffet for seconds. The breakfast was very tasty offering anything from a fry up to pancakes.

The rooms were very spacious which made it easy to get ready in with my bridal party. The venue allow dogs which was amazing for us as it saved us having to find a dog sitter and allowed us to celebrate our special day with our baby.

My guests couldn’t fault the Flying Fish Barn or their staff, they were consistently praising everyone for how friendly they were and how gorgeous the venue was.

I would definitely recommend the Flying Fish Wedding Barn to anyone looking for an intimate and memorable wedding day. They helped us create a wedding which was special and unique to us.

From the moment we booked our wedding it was nothing but smooth sailing. All the staff made us feel welcome and we were looked after from start to finish. Nothing was to much trouble. Venue was so beautiful with amazing views. Food was amazing and the turn around of the barn through out the day was so smooth. Accommodation was also amazing. Very clean and spacious and our friends and family had nothing but lovely things to say.

We had an amazing wedding day at the flying fish the staff were all friendly and super helpfull every detail was spot on. The wedding barn was all decorated and looked amazing. Outside the scenery is perfect for photos. We had a carvery for the daytime meal which was lovely and a hot buffet in the evening which again was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff Julie the wedding planner was amazing we didn't have to do anything. We also met buddy the owner really nice man friendly we had a rum together 😀. The accommodation on site was spotless and really nice massive comfy bed slept like a baby. We had a really amazing day thank you so much.

There is so many amazing things I could say about Julie and The Flying Fish venue but the most important I'd like to share is that you will have a better day than you can imagine!

Julie and her team were amazing on the lead up as well as on the day, ensuring every element is sorted stress free. They are incredibly hard working, creating such a special environment and going the extra mile while making it look easy.

The venue is beautiful, the food was amazing and so many people have told my husband and I that it was the best wedding they had been to. Wish we could do it all over again.

We had the most perfect wedding here that we could’ve asked have ever imagined. Julie was incredible throughout, she took all the stress off of us throughout the process, she was honest about options/advice during the preparation and she ensured the day itself ran with no hiccups. Her and her ‘happy helpers’ were professional and attentive throughout and we couldn’t have asked for more from them. The barn was beautifully presented throughout and the food was all amazing. The rooms were clean and incredibly spacious, with a lovely breakfast the following provided with them the following morning.

Amazing value for money the people that are truly amazing go above and beyond the staff are just the same they truly make a day very special. The views down there are just stunning can’t ask for a better setting. The food is out of this world and the chef really does know what they’re doing. The bar itself is beautifully decorated already really doesn’t need much adjustment. Just really couldn’t ask for a better day.

We visited the wedding barn 2 years before our wedding. We were blown away with the beauty that Julie had created, she was very welcoming and from that day we knew it would be the perfect wedding venue for us.

Julie kept us updated and answered all of our questions within the lead up.

The night before Julie was very accommodating and was able to help whether possible to make sure all our finishing touches were perfect.

The day was MAGICAL, full of love and laughter. The food, staff and hospitality were exceptional. Buddy was a fantastic cook and his food was rated highly by all our guests, he was extremely accommodating towards any dietary needs.

Julie and the boys throughout the day were incredible, making sure everything ran smoothly and that all our additional requested were met.

The morning after our wedding we shared a breakfast with our close ones, Kate was friendly and welcoming and continued to make us feel special. Kate even on the day all of your little touches never went unseen.

The day was truly the best, the memories will last a lifetime and we wouldn’t have wanted to have celebrated anywhere else.
