Established by Yard Space Events, Old Gore Barn is a charming street-food wedding venue situated in the picturesque village of Calmsden, Gloucestershire. With over a decade of experience in venue management, we have channelled our passion for flavour, fire and creative catering into bringing you memorable and unique events in the heart of the Cotswolds.
Your Day at OGB
Our newly renovated barn offers an expansive space for all aspects of your celebration. We are licensed to hold civil ceremonies of up to 120 guests, giving you the opportunity to stage your entire day here. Exchange your vows in front of our woodburning stove, surrounded by natural greenery, exposed beams, and contemporary Crittall-style doors, creating a light, airy ambience. Transition your guests to the heart of the venue, our courtyard, to enjoy a relaxed drinks reception over-looking the Cotswolds valleys. Our carefully curated canapés and crisp Prosecco will be sure to get your taste buds tingling for your main meal! Hosted in our ‘long barn,’ enjoy a feast of middle-eastern inspired dishes, stone-baked pizzas, or our twist on tacos, all within view of our outdoor kitchen and Argentine Asado fire pit. Continue with the street-food theme by serving puddings from our kitchen hatches, where your guests can help themselves to churros, gelato, or warm chocolate brownies. Enjoy your evening celebrations up until midnight, with use of the venue’s state-of-the-art Funktion One sound system, a fully-stocked bar, and delicious Late Night Food options like burgers, bao buns and our head chef’s renowned savoury doughnuts!
Our Accommodation
Our company flagship pub, The Stump, is situated less than a mile from Old Gore, and boasts 10 contemporary-country ensuite bedrooms, as well as a brand-new events space which can hold pre or post-wedding events for up to 50 guests! A further 10-minute drive will take you to our second pub, The New Inn, with 14 ensuite bedrooms and a garden suite fit for any Bride! Our country cottages, Montreal House and Casina Cottage, are the perfect space for your wedding party or family to gather during your celebrations, and are both just a 10 minute drive from OGB.

The Old Gore Barn
Me and my now wife had the absolute pleasure of getting married at The Old Gore Barn last week, and what can I say… this venue is simply unbelievable! From the very first moment we arrived to view it, right through to the end of our big day, everything was flawless.
Alex, our coordinator, was nothing short of amazing. From start to finish, she went above and beyond to make sure every single detail was taken care of. Her organisation, communication, and genuine care made the whole process feel effortless. We were always kept fully up to date, never left wondering what needed to be done, and she made sure every question (and there were plenty!) was answered quickly and clearly.
The venue itself is breathtaking….a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern elegance, with so much character that our guests couldn’t stop commenting on how stunning it looked. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and on the day, with the sun shining down on us, it truly felt magical.
And now… THE FOOD! Wow. Every single one of our guests said it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had!!! And that’s not an exaggeration. There was so much of it that some people even had to turn it down because they were full! From the canapés to the mains, everything was cooked to perfection and served beautifully. Trust me, if you book your wedding here, your guests will not leave hungry.😋
Every member of staff, from the bar team to the waitresses, was polite, friendly, and genuinely seemed to enjoy being part of our day. Their hard work and smiles made the whole experience even more special.
We couldn’t have wished for a better place to celebrate the most important day of our lives. If you are considering The Old Gore Barn for your wedding, do it! You will not regret it. I would give this venue a 10/10 without hesitation, and we will be forever grateful to Alex and the entire team for making our day everything we dreamed of and more.

Memories to cherish for a lifetime!
We had the most incredible wedding day at Old Gore - and I know every couple says that, but we truly mean it! From start to finish, everything ran seamlessly, and we have to give a huge shout out to Alex. Her organisation and calm presence meant we didn't have t worry about a think and could just enjoy every moment.
In the lead up to the day, all the staff were so helpful, patient and quick to responmd to our (sometimes weird and wonderful!) questions. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and it really made the planning process feel stress-free.
The food was plentiful and absolutely amazing - we've had so many compliments from our guests. And of course, the venue itself is stunning; the perfect backdrop for the best day of our lives.
We couldn't recommend this venue more. It exceeded every expectation and gave us a day we'll cherish forever.

Simply the best!
When we say Old Gore Barn was exceptional, we mean in literally every sense of the word. From the location, the teams that work there and make Old Gore what is it, the communication, the food - who can forget the food?!, value for money etc.
We took about a year and a half to find dreamy Old Gore. And it was absolutely worth it. After visiting multiple venues previously, I cannot express how much of a breath of fresh air Old Gore is. They are so welcoming, relaxed but in a completely professional way of course, it felt like nothing was a bother, they were so willing to help with the planning, on the day, all of it. Old Gore is completely transparent in their communications/cost breakdowns too. Planning a wedding is stressful, but at least with Old Gore, your venue definitely doesn’t have to be. The amount of random emails I sent asking questions out of the blue and they have an answer ready, it’s is all catered and thought of before you ask. I think by the time we had our wedding day we had spoken with every member of the events/wedding team at one point or another and every single person has been consistently wonderful, informative and helpful. Cannot fault them.
The venue itself - just outstanding. Set in a beautiful backdrop of fields, it’s so quiet and picturesque. We were a November wedding and dry weather is optimistic but if it does rain (like it did on our day), it did not spoil the beauty or flow of the day. Besides it’s good luck for it to rain on your wedding day anyways!
The food, well thank god Old Gore do feast nights cause we’ll be coming back to experience that all over again. Our guests could not stop talking about the food, how amazing it was, the quality and quantity. Have your Wedding at Old Gore!!
I couldn’t possibly begin to recommend Old Gore more!
Old Gore was the first of a few venues we looked at for our wedding, and the others simply didn’t come close.
The buildings itself are beautiful and really don’t require much else to make them truly sing. We got married in mid-November, and the barn’s cosy vibe was exactly what we were looking for.
The whole team – Alex, Emily, Polly etc – are all amazing; they replied so quickly throughout the 18 months, and no question was too small or too annoying! The team really make the venue even better. Polly was our on the day coordinator and she was truly brilliant. We felt in such safe hands the entire day, and our friends and family raved about literally everything.
I do need to shout out the food – holy moly. We already knew we didn’t want stuffy small portions of boring, bland food, but we were literally blown away. We attended a Feast Night to choose our options – absolutely recommend!! – and the food was simply incredible, but on the day, it seemed even better! I’ve never had more texts from friends about the dauphinoise potatoes…!!
Genuinely couldn’t recommend Old Gore and the amazing team more. We had a truly magnificent wedding day and couldn’t have wished for more.

A spectacular venue with the most incredible team of people.
Though delayed, we couldn’t not leave a shining review for the incredible venue that is Old Gore. It was the first, (and only) venue we needed to visit before our mind was made up that it was the place for us. The whole ethos of the team and company sold it for us (as well as the most spectacular food!).
It’s the most beautiful wedding venue, with gorgeous indoor and outdoor spaces that created the perfect backdrop for our day. Even with the risk of rain, it still makes the perfect setting for a wedding.
Emily, our wedding coordinator, was exceptional from start to finish as our primary contact throughout (from our first visit, to picking up our left over wine the day after!) She was efficient, organised, fun and such a calming presence throughout the entire planning process. The quick responses to queries (from the whole team), updates and check-ins made everything feel effortless. We were lucky to have the addition of lovely Polly on the day and she was a welcomed addition. Emily and Polly she kept the whole day flowing seamlessly. No request was ever too much trouble, and they helped us build a truly personalised day that felt completely “us.”
The food was incredible, cooked over fire pits with a view straight into the kitchen, which added such a unique touch. The relaxed vibe, combined with the amazing quality of the food, made the whole experience feel special and authentic.

Old Gore, forever in our hearts ♥️
From the moment we stepped out the car at Old Gore we just knew. The whole place has this aura that’s calming and beautiful, and then we met Emily. What an incredible human!! As someone who can be quite anxious she made me feel so at ease and nothing was too much trouble, this was from the very beginning to the actual day.
We knew we wanted fun and that’s exactly what we got. The food, the drinks, the vibe were all absolutely perfect. The food was incredible and the whole team executed the process incredibly well with nothing being too much effort.
Like most we have some interesting family dynamics and a couple of “glitches” on the day which were completely taken care of by Emily with absolute professionalism and if I hadn’t nagged for the detail, would be none the wiser, thank you.
We have had so many compliments from our family and friends who have all said it was the best wedding they’ve been too, and trust me they have high standards.

Gorgeous cotswolds countryside venue! amazing staff and food
We got married at Old Gore last Thursday and couldn’t recommend it more. The team there made it the opposite of stressful (from email responses for over a year with super helpful advice through to recommendations on the finer details of the day). The food was incredible and multiple guests have said it’s some of the best wedding food they’ve had. We had amazing canapés, steak for main and pizza late night snack and it was perfect. Special shoutout to the whole team and in particular our coordinator on the day (Emily). She was so on the ball and generally put me and the bridal / groom parties at ease. Best venue ever!
The whole process was great. We had Ella as our co-ordinator and she was the best. She set up all my DIY decorations perfectly, she was incredibly calming on the day, and she was really attentive. The whole process was very relaxed and chilled which is just what we wanted. Our guests loved the food, the setting, and didn’t have anything bad to say which was great for us to hear! All the timings worked perfectly, the day ran smoothly with no pressure on us at all. We would highly recommend this venue for the perfect wedding!

Best day ever!
Everyone says your wedding day is the best day ever but wow it really was and we really do have Old Gore Barn, and Alex in particular, to thank for that. Weddings can be stressful to plan but they’re really not with these guys. From start to finish it was seamless and we felt so looked after during planning and especially on the day! Alex made sure I was never without an Aperol! The venue itself is STUNNING, everyone was commenting on how gorgeous it is and how much it suits all kinds of wedding! The food, oh wow, unreal. If youre struggling to decide on a venue, I would recommend Old Gore Barn to anyone!! I just hope someone else we know decides to get married there because I’d love to go back!! Thanks so much guys! The venue of our dreams
Couldn't fault our day at Old Gore at all, or the experience leading up to the day. This was the 2nd venue we visited back in 2023 when starting to plan and then we compared everything back to this and knew it was the one for us. The team were so great and you could make the day your own, the food was incredible, and all our guests had the time of their lives. Couldn't recommend more!

The best day at the best venue!
We had our wedding here a few days ago and wanted to say a big thank you to the staff working at Old Gore as they really made the day perfect in every way possible!
Firstly, Emily our event coordinator was amazing! She had everything planned down to a T and the level of organisation was amazing. A special shout out for going the extra mile and even helping to organise the bridesmaids walk out timings!
Outside of just how beautiful the venue and location are, we were so lucky with how practical the set up is. Our wedding day had a mix of sun and sporadic rain and something we had taken for granted before the day was the giant outdoor cover, this absolutely saved the day and meant that even with the rain guests were able to mingle in and outdoor and enjoy the beautiful views.
The real star of the show for me was just how amazing the food was! We went for the sirloin steak for the day and tacos in the evening and I'm not sure if the show of the huge BBQ in the day or the giant flame thrower grilling the tacos in the evening had people more excited.

Utterly obsessed with Old Gore - what a venue!
We had the most incredible wedding and genuinely the best day of our lives at Old Gore Barn in August 2025. As soon as we discovered OG, we knew it was the venue and vibe for us. Gorgeous, contemporary and so much fun - everything was just perfect.
The biggest thank you to Emily for being such an epic wedding coordinator - and the whole Old Gore team for being so friendly and professional throughout the process (and utterly seamless on the day.) These guys know *exactly* how to run an event and it shows - our day flowed beautifully.
We've been living in the most glorious bubble of joy and reminiscence ever since, wishing we could do it all over again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Incredible wedding July 2025
What can we say about Old Gore? We held our wedding here in July 2025 and had the best day. The entire team were incredible in both the lead up and on the day, going above and beyond - no question was too silly, no request too big or small. Their communication was great throughout and they answered all the questions we had promptly. The food (very important to us!) was delicious - lots of our guests remarked that it was the best wedding food they’d had, and no-one went hungry.

Bringing a little bit of Italy to the Cotswolds
I don’t know even know where to begin! We viewed 3 of the venues from yardspace back in September and we landed with old gore barn for many reasons! We absolutely fell in love with the staff and rustic feel of old gore, particularly as my vision for having an Italian wedding was coming to life! It’s very versatile so you can change the decor as you please! The menu options are also insanely amazing so you can choose from something more formal from the meats section to pizza for main! We had pizza for main and it was a HUGE hit with our guests (English & Italians!). Alex was our wedding coordinator and a god send! From day one she took our needs into account and guided us through the process from start to finish!
We had canopes, Aperol spritz, peroni, a wide selection of wines, pizzas for main and burgers for evening! We even had ice cream from the lambretta van which in 30 degrees heat was a huge hit.
Old gore have been absolutely amazing I only wish I could do it all over again!

Our perfect, laidback venue
Old Gore was the first venue we looked at–both online and in person–and we instantly knew it was the one. We loved the laidback, relaxed vibe from the start. The team, especially Tom and Emily, were fantastic in the lead-up to our wedding: always quick to answer our questions and happy to jump on a call when needed. On the day itself, Tom was brilliant - he made everything run smoothly and was absolutely amazing with my dad, who has limited mobility. The food and drinks were excellent, and all of our guests had a fantastic time. We’re so glad we chose Old Gore and can’t wait to come back for a feast night!
