We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place to celebrate our wedding than Valleyside Barn. From the moment we arrived, we knew it was something special — the setting is absolutely stunning, surrounded by beautiful countryside with the most breathtaking views.

It’s the perfect mix of rustic charm and modern comfort, and our guests were blown away by how gorgeous it all was.

The team at Valleyside Barn were amazing from start to finish. They were friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making our day perfect. Every detail was handled with such care and attention — nothing was ever too much trouble. The whole day ran so smoothly thanks to their support and calm guidance.

The barn itself is beautifully designed, with so much natural light and space to make it your own. The outdoor areas were ideal for photos and drinks, and the atmosphere in the evening was just magical.

We’ve had so many compliments from our guests saying how incredible the venue was, and we honestly couldn’t agree more. Valleyside Barn will always hold a very special place in our hearts — we’d recommend it to any couple looking for a truly unforgettable wedding venue. 💍🤍

We got married at Valley side Barn in early June 2025. We booked the escape tents alongside the venue for the weekend. Emma and Matt were amazing and really really accommodating throughout. We had access to the venue from Friday morning, which gave us more than enough time to set up the decorations, considering we were doing it all ourselves. They were around all day and were available for any questions we had and any support we needed.

On the day itself, the weather was mixed, but Emma and Matt were both cool calm and collected, and we're ready with a solution or any problem the rain could throw at us. We had the ceremony inside and then the drinks reception under a gazebo in the courtyard, which worked just fine.

The main barn is a beautiful and elegant space, with amazing lighting and great acoustics, which suited everything from the speeches, general conversation during the meal, to a full live band through the evening. They are flexible on the table setup so you can make it look however you want. The bar is well stocked with local options and is reasonably priced. The garden out the back of the barn is a lovely place to sit and rest your feet into the evening.

The grounds are incredible, and there are plenty of places for some beautiful photos. Our favourite was the field near the river. This was perfect at sunset and produced our best photos of the night.

The accommodation overall was excellent. The honeymoon sweet is lovely and comfortable, with a big bathroom and decent sized space for the bridal party to get ready. The escape tents are well equipped and a perfect placement for other members of the wedding party to crash out when the party's over.

Emma and Matt are happy to work with any suppliers, and will encourage them to attend the venue beforehand so that they know what to expect on the day. This made the whole thing run incredibly smoothly.

Overall, Emma and Matt were so amazing throughout the weekend. They were calm, supportive and open to any ideas we had, whilst taking the reigns when needed to ensure the whole event went off without a hitch. We couldn't be more grateful to them and the whole team at Valleyside Barn for making out special day as straightforward and magical as possible.

We had the most incredible experience at Valley Side Barn for our wedding. From start to finish, Emma and Matt went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Nothing was ever too much trouble — they were always there to help with every small detail and made the whole process feel stress-free.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning, with so many beautiful spaces that made our day unforgettable. The barn was the perfect setting to celebrate with our family and friends, offering the ideal mix of charm and space for a truly joyful atmosphere. The pond area was breathtaking and gave us the most gorgeous backdrop for our photos — it felt magical. And the gallery, where we held our ceremony, was simply beautiful, creating the most special and intimate setting to say our vows.

Valleyside Barn delivered out dream wedding, and so much more.
From our first visit we were immediately impressed by the thought and care that Matt & Emma have given to the venue. Restoration of the historic collection of buildings has all been part of their vision, with their eye for stylish design creating a spectacular setting that maintains the character of the place. Their eye for detail extends to the cleanliness throughout, which was faultless.
The way the venue functions has been well thought through, allowing wedding parties to enjoy the whole day at the venue, whilst the zoned spaces fulfill different functions throughout the day. The wedding service typically happens in an idyllic courtyard where we also had canapes. Later the wedding barn is revealed, serving as a spacious setting whilst still feeling intimidate. Later still after food, the venue opens up further to outdoor space with ready access for guests to walk down to the meadows to the river.
The venue has 3 six person safari tents that can be rented separately. These were to a high standard and complemented the other accommodation options in Bickleigh well.
Last, but most importantly, Matt & Emma are the best thing about this venue. They work effortlessly together and made our day the best it could possibly be. As a venue they only do one wedding per week and dedicate themselves to making it as brilliant as possible. On the day they took care of everything, fulfilling the function of a wedding coordinator so that all suppliers and external providers were kept informed and in the loop.

We truly could not have asked for a better wedding venue or service and will be forever grateful to Emma & Matt for making our wedding more than we could have ever wished for!

We stumbled across Valleyside by accident while staying locally for a friend’s wedding and feel so, so lucky we did. We’re absolutely thrilled we chose to have our summer wedding there: beautiful location, brilliant hosts and excellent facilities. Emma and Matt have picked a glorious spot - everyone remarked on how splendid, green and peaceful the surroundings were - and then furnished it with everything you’d want for a wedding. The prep kitchen was a hit with the caterers, the barn was lovely and airy, you’ve the courtyard for the reception drinks, everything is easily accessible for suppliers (and, indeed, the venue is really easy to reach from both Exeter and Tiverton Parkway for your guests)and the honeymoon suite is really comfortable and spacious (crucial for those getting ready with a few too many bridesmaids!). As an event overseer, Emma is excellent: incredibly details-focussed, very calm and just a nice person to boot. She and Matt were such wonderful hosts & did everything they could to make it a perfect day for us (down to the ordering of the chairs, Matt!) - we can’t thank them enough, we had the best day ever - no stress, just huge fun.

The owners, Matt and Emma are so friendly, helpful and accommodating. From the moment we booked Valleyside Barn, we knew we were in very capable hands. Emma is super efficient and was always on hand to answer any queries and to provide recommendations all the way from booking up to the day itself. Prior to the wedding (and after) Matt was always around ensuring that the venue was in impeccable condition inside and out.

We were blessed with beautiful weather and got married in their outdoor courtyard which is just so pretty, but there is the bonus that they have a few areas where you can get married depending on your preference and weather.

We had the added pressures of getting married and planning a wedding with a small baby and two dogs. Emma and Matt went above and beyond to make everything as easy as possible. Emma ensured the honeymoon suite was ready for us all and even provided a travel cot, highchair, bouncer, activity mat, baby bath and dog bowls! Also, at the end of the evening some of our guests and children also couldn’t get a taxi at the end of the night so Matt did several trips to their accommodation to make sure they all got back safe! We literally couldn’t have asked for more.

On the day itself, everything went so smoothly thanks to Emma and Matt. They made the whole day flow seamlessly, such as moving from the ceremony area to the main barn and setting up for the evening - it wasn’t even noticeable. The only downside we have is that it’s now over but we are planning on returning to stay in their glamping safari tents!
