Meet the team
We’re Chris and Jess McCullagh, and we feel incredibly privileged to call Wick Farm our home and the heart of our family business. Set in the beautiful Somerset countryside just outside of Bath, Wick Farm is full of character and charm, with a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere — and we love sharing it with others.
We took over Wick Farm from Sophie and her family, who lovingly restored the barns and built a beautiful venue and business — one we’re excited to build on and make our own.
Having met and married while living in London, we always knew we wanted to move closer to family. When we got engaged, we started dreaming about running a business together — “maybe something like a wedding venue.” Jess, who grew up locally, had attended a wedding at Wick Farm over ten years ago and remembers thinking, what a dream it would be to own somewhere like this. Both of our grandfathers were farmers, so in many ways, it felt like we’re returning to our roots.
Jess previously ran her own events company in London, specialising in charity fundraisers and weddings, while Chris has worked for a church and with several start-ups and charities over the years. We’ve always loved welcoming people into our home, so being able to host on a larger scale here at Wick Farm is one of our favourite parts of the job.
Our journey here began with a love of bringing people together. With a background in hospitality and a deep respect for the heritage of this place, we’re working hard to create a venue that not only honours its rich past, but offers a warm, relaxed, and personal experience for every guest.
Whether you’re here to celebrate a wedding, host a private event, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings, we want you to feel at home. We’re hands-on, down-to-earth, and genuinely care about the details.
When we’re not running events or looking after the barns, we’re usually spending time with friends and family, cooking up a feast, or chasing after our two young boys. We attend a nearby church and love being involved with our local community. We feel incredibly privileged to do what we love in such a special place.
