Our big day was their big day
It’s the little things that mean the most.Sent on 05/10/2019
It’s the little things you tend to forget when you’re focusing on the big day.
You may have spreadsheet after spreadsheet and multiple lists.
You may have walked through every detail in your head, planned for every possible outcome. You’ve dreamed about this for years. You know what you want and you’re the person to make sure it all goes to plan. Right?
You couldn’t be more wrong... but it’s ok. You’ve made it to the right place. You’re in safe hands.
On the day, whether or not you want to believe it; You’re placing your faith in others to make sure your vision comes to life. You are entrusting others with the biggest day of your life.
3 weeks to the day after we said ‘I Do’ at the very special Colan Barton Farm, my Husband and I are still receiving messages, calls and cards from our family and friends expressing their amazement of how wonderful our wedding was.
We’re still pinching ourselves too.
Our memories are filled with love, laughter and a picturesque setting.
The day was perfect.
Every response to our guests echos our thanks: “We couldn’t have done it without Sarah and Ross”.
Their care and attention to the little things becomes even clearer on reflection.
We can see it in our photographs.
I can see it in my Dad’s face, when he expresses, through pure glee and excitement of the memory, how magical it all really was.
Our big day was their big day.

Our wedding at Colan Barton
We were married at Colan Barton last weekend. We stumbled across the venue, having been engaged for about 6 months, and feeling completely uninspired about venues which we had seen. The first thing that we should say is, if you are considering this as a potential venue, go to see it. Make a weekend of it. Whilst the pictures are lovely, they do not capture what it feels like to be at this very special place. On arrival at the venue, we had our first glimpse of the beautiful apple barn. Sarah and Ross greeted us, and I knew instantly that they were the kind of people that we could trust with the our special day. When you speak to them, and have the chance to see the care and attention which they have put into Colan Barton, you understand that for them, this is not a large scale commercial enterprise; they are genuinely a passionate and caring team. In the run up to the wedding, Sarah was professional, efficient and went beyond what I could have expected. Our family joined us on Friday and we enjoyed a beautiful meal served on the long dining table, prepared by chefs recommended by Sarah and Ross. On on the wedding day, guests were free to enjoy the facilities at the venue, including the heated pool, pool house and hot tub. Ross and Sarah's experience and professionalism meant that the ceremony and drinks reception ran like clockwork. We enjoyed champagne and scones by the pool in the Cornish sun after the ceremony. The day was more than we could have ever dreamed of.Sent on 21/05/2019
