We wanted something a little unique for our wedding and the moment we stepped into the castle we knew this was the place for us.

The history of the Keep speaks for itself and can imagine what it was like hundreds of years ago, it still has that feeling and we felt like we were stepping back hundreds of years into the realms of Henry VIII .

Sarah, who takes care of the weddings is just incredibly knowledgeable. All the weird and wonderful questions we asked she knew the answer immediately. If this lady doesn’t know then it’s not worth knowing.

Super helpful and supportive and efficient in every way.

On the day of set up our ladies were there helping us out and relieving any last minute stresses. We left feeling 100% confident of what was happening.

The day was superb. Help in the cottage getting ready, timings perfect and all tidy after the whirlwind of getting ready when we got back meter that night.

The lodge was a godsend for family to stay and relax before and after and saved so much faffing looking for accommodation.

The Day …… it was a perfected military style operation and I felt so calm and relaxed and didn’t have to think about anything it was all taken care of even to the tiniest detail of arranging my dress train on the stairs and getting to the aisle at the right time.

I wish I could relive the whole day again it was perfect.

The castle looked amazing in a winters evening dusk and will be one of the best moments and memories of my life !

I cannot fault Heddingham in any way. From our very first visit, we were looked after by the team in every way. Everyone was so friendly, very understand and accommodating of requirements or any last minute changes. The venue itself is stunning. We used the castle for our intimate wedding and every guest commented on just how stunning the castle was and it made for a magical ceremony and reception/meal. The on site accommodation in the cottage, lodge and Royal Chamber is also incredible and the perfect place to stay with our entire family on our special day. I could not be happier with our choice of venue and it was also incredible value for money! Thank you to everyone who was part of our day.

We had the best day of our lives at Hedingham Castle. As wedding venues go, this one truly is breathtaking and unique. The combination of the ceremony at the castle, drinks reception in the grounds of the manor house and wedding breakfast/evening in the marquee is impossible to beat.

From start to finish, the staff were helpful, professional, friendly and attentive. We visited several times during the wedding planning process, spoke through all of our choices and Sarah helped us craft a wedding that was personal to us, with loads of advice and helpful input. They also responded quickly to emails whenever I needed which helped make the process stress free. On the day, Jackie made sure everything ran like clockwork and looked after both of us.

Our whole day was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The team at Hedingham were exceptionally helpful, generous with their time, and accomodating to make sure we got exactly the day we wanted. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, and we couldn't have asked for a better backdrop for our special day. The team provided us with everything we needed and helped us with all the planning, and they thought of absolutely everything (including a lot that I'm sure we'd have missed without them!), even providing us with a list of recommended vendors to make our search so much easier. For the amount you get included, we thought that it was absolutely fantastic value for money, and can't recommend Hedingham Castle enough.

The whole team at Hedingham Castle were exceptional from the moment I first made contact to enquire, to the moment we left the castle the following morning. They accommodated every request I made to make our wedding day the most magical experience any one could ever imagine. We had a small intimate ceremony with canapes for our guests, followed by a private meal for just the two of us and it was possibly the most wonderful food we have ever had and the chef was incredible. The whole team made sure everything ran so smoothly on the day. We stayed overnight in the royal chamber and what an incredible experience this was. The views were beautiful, and the breakfast was wonderful the following morning. If you're considering booking this place, my advice would be just book it. You will absolutely not regret it.

We could not speak more highly of Hedingham as a wedding venue. Whilst the keep, the house, the gardens all speak for themselves, what really sets Hedingham apart is the excellence of the planning team.

From day 1, Sarah was exceptional, working with us both to understand what we hoped to achieve, and finding solutions with calm reassurance - we never felt like there were any obstacles that couldn’t be overcome.

During the wedding weekend, Jackie and Debbie were the perfect balance of attentive and discrete, helping guide along both the hog roast on Friday night, and the main wedding on Saturday. The wider staff were excellent, working tirelessly to keep guests fed and watered.

Andy’s guided tour of the Keep was informative and fun, engaging both the children and the adults, would definitely recommend (probably better on the Friday with the smaller number of guests).

Overall, a phenomenal experience that elevated our special day beyond what we could even have hoped, thank you to everyone involved!!

We had such a lovely experience with this venue. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout the whole process. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, and everything was set up exactly as we had requested. It was also a really good price for such a stunning location with everything included in the package.

We used Splinters Catering and they were amazing. The food was absolutely delicious and received so many compliments from our guests. We stayed in the Royal Chamber, which was beautiful and provided an amazing end to the night and a wonderful start to our marriage.

Our only small issue was that our guests could not get any reception food or drinks until after our photos, and we felt a bit rushed during that time. I even forgot to get a couple of group shots I had planned. We had scheduled around an hour to 1.5 hours for our reception drinks, and I would suggest allowing a bit longer to avoid the rush. The team worked hard to keep everything running smoothly, and the day overall was wonderful. We would definitely recommend this venue to other couples.

Who doesn’t dream of getting married in a castle? You can’t get better than Hedingham. The Georgian Manor House and marquee are amazing as well, a real journey through time. We knew it was the venue for us when we were first shown round. Our guests were so impressed, saying it was magical. The team: Sarah, Amanda and Jenny were brilliant. Super responsive and we met twice at our wedding planning meetings. They know how to do weddings so you’ll be in safe hands. Everything on the day ran smoothly. We can’t thank them enough for having us. We also stayed in the castle overnight which was excellent!

Hedingham Castle is THE best wedding venue. From the minute we arrived on our first visit, we knew it was the right venue for us, not only because it's absolutely gorgeous, but because the package is so comprehensive, the staff are so thorough, and it's excellent value for money.

In the lead up, we had multiple visits, zoom calls, and emails guiding us through the process, with the team coming back to us immediately with clear information and answers to our questions.

We couldn't believe how helpful the staff were on the day and how much care they put into our special day! They made us feel so relaxed about the whole process, so cared for and looked after, and just couldn't appreciate their kindness and thoughtfulness more.

So many of our guests commented that they've never seen venue staff be so helpful, thinking of things we might need and just getting them done before we've even thought of it, and adding touches of decor wherever they could to add to our vision.

I also cannot express just HOW beautiful this venue is.

We had the most amazing wedding day at Hedingham castle! The staff could not have been more helpful in creating our perfect day! The venue is stunning and all our guests commented on how amazing it all was! The castle staff we so lovely the entire day and made our day so easy to enjoy! Thank you!

Hedingham Castle is a beautiful venue steeped in history, with an amazing team who work tirelessly to ensure the most perfect day and whom we cannot thank enough.

Amanda, Sarah, and the rest of the team are so easy to work with, even though we were planning from Luxembourg and not able to just pop in whenever. We had lots of zoom calls and video tours, and we felt like we were in very capable hands. They gave us lots of invaluable advice to help cut unnecessary costs and we never felt like they were out to upsell us or anything like that, whereas some venues we'd visited did give us that impression. They've clearly been doing this forever and love what they do. Everything felt so easy that we were honestly starting to get stressed about the fact that we weren't stressed.

For suppliers, we went down the list of recommended suppliers on Hedingham's website and just booked straight down the list, with the exception of one (a mobile petting zoo). It makes everything so much easier when the suppliers know each other really well and have worked at the venue many times before, and they are all incredible talented, lovely people. We barely had to do anything to coordinate and just let them do what they do best.

Hedingham has two in-house caterers and couples must choose one of them. We went with Splinters and ordered canapés, a choice menu, and pork baps with chips for the evening food. The portion sizes were huge and so so tasty, the options are extensive, and everyone loved the food. The catering staff on the day had everyone's orders memorised and were so kind and professional. I'm sure the other caterers are just as good, so it's a question of individual taste, and a testament to the fact that Hedingham's suppliers are just that professional and experienced.

We had lots of guests flying in from the United States, but this was not an issue as we were able to book The Lodge on site, which sleeps seventeen people, as well as The Cottage, which sleeps four and doubles up as the getting-ready room, so we were able to provide my American family with a place to sleep both the night before and the night of the wedding at a very reasonable cost. We opted to sleep in the Royal Chamber after the wedding which is 100% worth it.

Setting up the day before was super easy, and because the venue is so beautiful it really doesn't require much decoration. You get exclusive use of what are basically three gorgeous venues in one (the Keep, the Georgian House, and the Marquee) which provides a lot of movement and flow on the day and avoids the problem of guests standing around waiting for something to happen. Hedingham is also the only venue we visited that had a separate dance floor hidden behind a curtain, so there's no need to ferry everyone out after dinner while tables are moved. Everything is well thought-out and coordinated seamlessly.

On the actual day of the wedding, absolutely nothing went wrong, and if it did, we never found out. As the bride, I stayed in the Cottage and got ready there, where breakfast was made available (at an extra cost, but really worth it) and we even had the nice surprise of a member of staff (thank you, Sharon!) who introduced herself as our runner and was there to help out if there was anything that needed to be done. From getting ready, to the ceremony, to the drinks reception, to the breakfast, to speeches and dancing, our day was 100% stress free. This is even though I'd had unplanned knee surgery just a few days before and couldn't walk very well. Everyone at Hedingham was amazing and so, so helpful.

We got so many compliments afterwards about how our wedding at Hedingham was one of the best weddings that many of our guests had ever been to, and it genuinely was one of the happiest days of our lives. My only "regret" is that the day went by so quickly, so we'll have to go back for another night in the Royal Chamber and to enjoy the many events they put on at the Castle!

We cannot recommend Hedingham Castle enough. From start to finish, they make sure you will have THE most perfect day at a really fair cost for the amount you get. We are so grateful, it was incredible, and we can't wait to come back!

We got married at Hedingham Castle on the 13 July, I can hardly begin to describe how extraordinary the entire day was. Let’s start with the castle—it is absolutely unreal. Everywhere you look, it makes you go "wow" repeatedly. The stunning architecture and the grounds, kept in immaculate condition, provide a breathtaking backdrop that adds to the fairytale atmosphere.From the moment we first visited for the viewing, it was clear that Hedingham Castle is managed with the utmost professionalism. Sarah and her team provided world-class service, making us feel completely at ease. She patiently answered all my questions, no matter how trivial or repetitive they might have seemed, and her insightful advice was invaluable.
We are incredibly grateful for her support and for the exceptional care she and her team provided.

The planning process went absolutely smoothly—everything was taken care of, leaving me to only worry about sunny afternoon on the big day. The entire team operated like a well-oiled machine, ensuring that every detail was flawless. There was nothing, absolutely nothing, we could fault; it was almost too perfect! Our guests were in awe of the venue and couldn’t stop complimenting how seamlessly everything came together. We wouldn’t change a single thing about our wedding day; it was so magical that we wish we could do it all over again.

We had our wedding at Hedingham Castle & the venue is simply stunning - the gardener(s) should be commended for keeping such beautiful gardens. We had many lovely compliments from guests about how great everything looked, and we can’t wait to see how the photos turn out.

Unfortunately the service from the rest of the team has been a bit disappointing. From dropping off our decorations on Friday we were instructed to put everything in the same place and were assured it would be where it needed to be come Saturday morning - it wasn’t there - this caused quite a lot of unnecessary stress the morning of & ultimately the ceremony room decorations ended up being wrong vs. how they were planned.

Timing for getting family members from the cottages up to the Castle got confused on the day which was a bit disorienting and meant some family didn’t get to see the Groom preceremony as had been planned.

My handbag with my speech got temporarily lost by the staff though they had tried to put my bags where they needed to be, again causing quite a lot of unnecessary stress & we had to last minute change the order of speeches.

The following morning we were told to collect our decorations from a secured cupboard which we were assured would be unlocked. When we got there it was still locked up, there were no staff around - which meant we wasted time waiting for the cupboard to be open (we had to guess the lock code in the end) and meant we weren’t able to get our leftover cake which we were told someone would get for us that morning.

Overall, we had an amazing day and whilst these are only small errors, they are simple enough that they shouldn’t have happened, especially on your wedding day and you’ve been charged a fee for the service.

There aren't words to describe the incredible place that is Hedingham Castle. I first came to an open day 2 years before our wedding and as I stepped out of the car and saw the venue and heard the bagpipers playing I was blown away - we had a look at some other venues but nothing quite compares to Hedingham!
We had an initial planning meeting which gave us all the information we needed and then another one or two before the day - we always came away feeling so excited and not at all overwhelmed.
The venue is incredible - you can really see how much work goes in to maintaining it and how much the team there care about it. The castle itself is so beautiful and well kept but without taking attention from the novelty of it, on the day we decided to decorate it minimally as it really doesn't need any dressing up. Having our ceremony in there was such a dream. We also had the tea rooms in there open before the ceremony which offered a unique experience for guests and gave them the chance to be inside the castle more and mingle before heading upstairs for the ceremony.
We were lucky on the day with the weather so we could use the gardens as well as the manor house for the drinks reception - everything is just gorgeous.
The marquee for dinner is again so impressive - they managed to pack our large wedding in, and yet at no point did anything feel cramped. The dancefloor is a perfect size and curtained off while you eat, which makes it feel a bit more special when the time comes for the first dance. Everyone was very impressed with the chandeliers that are from Casino Royale as well!
There's endless photo locations on site which also means you can slip away for some pictures just the two of you which is a lovely touch.
We were able to book the lodge and cottage for the night before the wedding as well as the night of, and with a large family it worked out perfectly. Both are so spacious and gives you the perfect space to get ready. In the cottage there is a prep room which we used to hang dresses and get changed, and the downstairs bedroom was where we had hair and make up being done.
The week of the wedding we were also able to drop everything up that we would need - again this really helped us. We were lucky enough to have the ceremony set up exactly how we wanted also by the team there.
On to the team there - we cannot thank them enough. They all work so hard to make sure your day goes smoothly, from having someone with you in the cottage to look after you while you get ready, to people helping with my dress and veil going up the stairs and down the aisle, to someone making sure you get driven back to the cottage at the end of the day.
I want to say a thank you to Sarah, she was so helpful throughout the whole process and always there to answer any questions I had, we couldn't have done the day without her!
I also want to mention Jackie who was our coordinator on the day - what an amazing support she was and nothing was too much for her. At no point did I not know what was going on or going to happen next. Even when it was time for her to go she made sure we knew who our next point of contact would be.
The communication from the whole team is fantastic and they do an amazing job of making sure you know what's going to happen next. I doubt there is a more hardworking and lovely team anywhere! The day flies by but they do an amazing job of making sure it runs smoothly and that you have time to take it all in and just enjoy it.
During dinner we were given a card congratulating us by the venue, such a thoughtful thing for them to do! Another little touch which was so appreciated was getting back to the cottage to find it had been tidied up and there were cups and saucers laid out by the kettle for us.
The day after the wedding we all went for breakfast at Moot House and while there, one of the team brought over a suit that had been forgotten in the lodge - they are just so thoughtful.
Suppliers we used that were recommended - luckily we attended a few open days and got to meet them. We have done separate reviews for Lewis (photographer) and Splinters (caterers) but just wanted to say how amazing they were. We've had so many compliments on the pictures and also so many people mention how much they loved the food. Definetely go along to open days and evenings also as you get a feel for the location and a chance to view it all. We also booked their in house DJ Jethro Baker - he was amazng, played so many songs we asked for and kept people on the dancefloor for the whole night.
A special mention also to the bagpipers - from the moment I heard them two years before the wedding I booked them straight away, they were one of our favourite things from the day and were unforgettable. I would recommend them to everyone - if you want them involved then Dick Camp is the person to get in contact with. They were so incredible and even played some songs that we had requested off their normal set list. We love watching back the videos of them and again so many people were blown away by them.
We have had so many comments on the day and since from our guests who had nothing but good things to say about the venue.
