Set in the heart of the postcard town of Old Amersham, Buckinghamshire, Kings Chapel is an 18th-century Chapel and wedding venue. This site boasts a spectacular domed ceiling and glittering chandeliers sure to set your heart fluttering. For history buffs, this stunning property is the ideal setting in which to tie the knot.
Facilities and Capacity
There are a number of indoor and outdoor event spaces for you to choose from at Kings Chapel. You and your loved one can exchange vows in the Main Hall, which is adorned with original architectural features. Alternatively, if you're dreaming of an outdoor ceremony, you can host a ceremony in the beautiful Walled Garden. Follow the nuptials with a glass of fizz or your favourite tipple, delicious canapes and photos on the site's grounds and surrounding areas of Old Amersham. There is even a fantastic horsebox bar for your guests to enjoy an extra tipple. You may dance the night away and party in style in this exclusive venue. Then when the clock strikes midnight, the celebrations don't have to stop, enjoy a nightcap and nibble on the wedding cake in the cosy Kings Arms bar exclusively until 2 am. Kings Chapel can seat up to 120 guests on round tables for your wedding breakfast or up to 134 for a scrumptious feast.
Accommodation
All your accommodation needs are taken care of at this venue. The Kings Arms Hotel has 34 bedrooms, so any guests wanting to catch some much-needed rest after the celebrations can stay with you. These rooms include everything you need for a great night's sleep.
The newly refurbished Honeymoon Suite is complimentary for the happy couple to spend the night too!

Everything we had hoped for and that little bit more
One of the best things about this venue is how well it works for couples who want everything in one place. We were able to have our ceremony, wedding breakfast, and evening reception all onsite, which made the day flow seamlessly and kept everything relaxed for us and our guests. The venue has a lovely garden space too, which meant we had the option of an outdoor ceremony (even though we opted for indoors) and plenty of space for guests to mingle and enjoy the sunshine. It's such a versatile space, a true blank canvas, set in the beautiful Chiltern Hills, that can be styled to suit any couple’s vision, whether you want something rustic, elegant, or more contemporary.
The food and drink were another highlight! Everything was absolutely delicious, and the wine pairings were spot on. The pizza chef in the evening was a huge hit with everyone, not just for his tasty pizzas but also for the fun, personal drawings he added to the boxes. It’s those quirky little touches that made the day feel so memorable.
The staff were phenomenal from start to finish. Every single person we encountered was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making our day the best it could be. The bedrooms are all unique and full of character, and having our loved ones stay on site made the whole weekend feel extra special.
It was also brilliant value for money considering everything that’s included, we just wish we could do it all over again! We can’t recommend this venue highly enough to any couple looking for a beautiful, flexible space where the entire day can come together effortlessly.
Amazing from start to finish
Sallie (our wedding planner) was amazing from start to finish and made a very stressful 18 months, as painless as possible! Her expertise and organisation skills allowed us just to enjoy the process, knowing she had everything in hand along the way up until the very end.
Our whole experience was one we’ll never forget and we’re so glad we chose to get married here.

We LOVED having our wedding at Kings Chapel.
Kiera was a fantastic wedding coordinator and made the process so smooth, especially as we pulled off a 74 person wedding in 5 months planning time! We are so grateful to her. I work in events and she made the process entirely seamless.
The staff that worked on our event were gracious, smiley and so easy going.
Special shout out to the head chef who created us a bespoke menu. The food was delicious and we’ve had so much positive feedback from our guests on the canapés, main meal, and night time snacks.
The venue is so pretty and can be easily customised!
Overall, our experience at Kings Chapel was amazing and made our wedding a dream come true.
