50th Birthday - Black tie event
Venue Service

By kandice melluish-anderson, on 21 Jun 2018Date of Wedding - 09 Jun 2018

I hosted my 50th Birthday with around 100 guests at York House, the venue was a delight - we had a string quartet for the meet and greet part in the winter garden & terrace, and had the main event in the Halls - Totally thrilled and couldn't recommend highly enough.

A Special Day at a Beautiful Venue
Venue Service

By Dalveer, on 08 Jan 2018Date of Wedding - 30 Sep 2017

We had a beautiful wedding at York House in September. The venue looks lovely in all our pictures and guests were so impressed with the rooms. The Winter Garden was my favourite and should put compared to other rooms I’d seen. For an intimate small wedding this was perfect. Staff were all wonderful and the registrar stole the show. I’d recommend the venue to anyone, especially if on a budget.

York House - A really great wedding venue
Venue Service

By John and Aisling, on 07 Jan 2018Date of Wedding - 10 Jun 2017

We had our wedding and reception at York House on 10th June 2017 and could not have been happier with the way it went from start to finish. All the ladies at York House were fantastically helpful with the planning and Ross, the caretaker, was an absolute star. We would thoroughly recommend using the venue. We had the Winter Garden Room and the Salon which were perfect for the ceremony and reception. We didn't know much about the venue before we viewed it but were really glad we did. It's definitely worth going to look at if you are thinking of getting married in the Richmond area.

Completely inflexible on terms and conditions
Venue Service

By P Ede, on 20 May 2009

The venue is good, particularly as there is no corkage and you can bring your own caterer. However, we had to pay for one hour extra to get the lighting man who York House recommended to come in the morning to set up. They were really strict with dropping off anything on the day of the wedding and refused to budge on any of our suggestions or changes. This made things, towards the end, really stressful and irritating.

Very inflexible terms and conditions
Venue Service

By P Ede, on 20 May 2009

We paid over £2000 to hire the venue but were forced to pay for an extra hour for the lighting tech to come and set up on the morning of the wedding even though no one was using the room and the house was open. There also refused to budge on any of the suggestions we made, making thing stressful and irritating.

York House - the hidden gem
Venue Service

By Alissa & Stephen Plane, on 29 Jul 2005

My husband and I were married in Molesey on the 28th May 2005 and held the reception at York House. The venue is very flexible and we were fortunate enough to host our reception after the extensive interior redecoration, so it was gleaming! We used the Salon and terrace for the initial cocktail reception, the clarendon for the wedding breakfast and then had the Hyde, Salon and octygon in the evening (the disco was in the hyde). One of the best things about the venue is that either inside and out you have a perfect location for photos, so you needn't get too concerned if it rains on the day. It was very sunny on our day so we had a sting quartet on the terrace, which was great for guests who could enjoy their pimm's and watch the photos being taken. We provided our own drinks and bought outside caterers which was wonderful as we had total control and flexibility in having a day we wanted. Everyone loved the venue, it really is a hidden gem, especially with the cost of a lot of venues in SW London. The staff at York House were very professional and really took pride in making sure that EVERY question was answered and we had what we needed to make the day a success. I wish I could post pictures as it really did look fabulous.

One of the best decisions we made!

York House is a beautiful French Chateau House with its own grounds set in the heart of Twickenham. It has its own car park which is free on Saturdays. We had our civil ceremony in the Salon which is a beautiful ornate room which can seat 70 people and our wedding reception in clarendon hall which can seat up to 200 for a sit down meal and evening reception. But the most special thing about York House, is that you can bring your own caterers and supply your own drinks. This meant that you are not tied to an expensive package and charged a fortune for corkage. My guests can't stop talking about the venue.

Our Perfect Wedding Venue
Venue Service

By Catherine Ancell, on 21 Apr 2004

What I loved about York House initially, aside from it's obvious beauty, was the versatility of the venue. We had the use of several rooms during the day, The Terrace room for welcome drinks, The Salon for the wedding breakfast and the Clarendon Hall and bar for the evening do, until 12pm. This meant we weren't kept hanging about while things were cleared away/or the room layout was changed. What I wasn't expecting was just how professional the service was. I couldn't fault it. The day ran perfectly smoothly and we had so many comments afterwards about what a great day it had been. The icing on the cake was the cost. The catering was flexible to suit our needs, we were not forced to pick a certain 'package' and they were more than happy to cater to a budget set by us. The food was delicious, and they didn't scrimp on the portion sizes either. All in all I couldn't reccommend York House enough as a wedding venue.

Fantastic

A brilliant place to get married - the building is lovely - very well laid out. The room you have the ceremony in leads onto the gardens which have a terrace at the top for post nuptual drinks. At the bottom of the garden is a bridge which goes down to the riverside, there are overhanging willow trees - great for photos. The only downside is they don't have a late licence (or didn't when we got married)
