Nestled in Wymondham, Norfolk, Morley Old Hall is a romantic and historic wedding venue perfect for fairytale celebrations. Sir Jonathan Sedley, an architect to both Henry VII and Henry VIII, designed the Hall in 1545. It has housed guests such as Diana, Princess of Wales throughout the years and featured in TV shows and films. Fully surrounded by an Anglo-Saxon moat, this stunning building is enveloped by the beauty of nature, making for a magical setting.
Facilities and Capacity
As you meander down the tree-lined drive, your breath will be taken away by the enchanting grounds before you find the ethereal Morley Old Hall. Couples are welcome to use the lush lawns and scenic vistas as the backdrop for an outdoor ceremony and reception. There are a myriad of picturesque spots for a marquee of your choosing, so you and your guests can enjoy the verdant greenery while staying warm on cooler evenings. These areas can be a blank canvas on which you can design the day of your dreams. If you wish to celebrate inside, The Piggery is a fabulous choice. Once a disused farrowing barn, this charming structure was renovated in 2019 and now stands as a delightful and spacious entertainment space. Deep forest green walls adorned with framed oil paintings, luxe Chesterfield chairs and couches, a grand wood-burning stove, and a full Tudor-style dining table evoke an intentional country study or living room style. Gatherings of up to 60 seated guests can be hosted here, or you may choose to use this area as a post-dinner dance floor. You and your loved ones can also stay the night in one of their nine ensuite rooms or in the Glamping Meadow, a beech hedge-enclosed expanse with a fire pit and hobbit seating.
Services Offered
Morley Old Hall's mesmerising setting makes way for completely bespoke celebrations. They are licensed to solemnise marriages and to register civil partnerships, so all your wedding events can take place in one spot. You and your wedding party can also enjoy one inclusive overnight stay, including in their love nest and honeymoon suite, The Roost, as part of this fabulous collection. Best of all, there is no cut-off time, meaning your evening of partying can continue into the wee hours.
