We are delighted to welcome you to The Guildhall; a stunning and historic venue comprising of Grade I, II* and II listed buildings.

Originally constructed in the 15th century as a meeting place for York’s historic guilds, the Guildhall has played host to many important figures over the years, from King Richard III in 1483, to Prince Albert in1850, although none quite as important as our 21st century Bride's & Grooms!

Recently restored in April 2022, couples seeking something different for their special day will adore the stunning original features complemented by modern enhancements. Exclusively yours, The Guildhall is a hidden gem, nestled in the heart of York’s city centre, situated on the River Ouse behind The Mansion House - a stone's throw away from York Minster, Museum Gardens and the historic City Walls.

Facilities and Capacity

Whether you opt for a ceremony with us here, or to say your vows elsewhere before enjoying a memorable celebration of fine dining and dance-floor fun at the Guildhall, our team will work with you to ensure a seamless transition.

A fully-tuned Grand Piano is located in the main hall, perfectly positioned for a professional (or not!) to tickle the keys as your guests arrive. An evening DJ is included in your package, providing the big hitters to get everyone dancing, while our mobile bar supplier, also included in your package, will be serving up a range of drinks, lovingly pre-selected by you!

This is a wheelchair-accessible venue with complimentary WiFi and PA system for those all-important emotional speeches.

We can cater for parties from a minimum of 50 adult guests to a maximum seated dining capacity of 120.

Our in-house event catering team pride themselves on delivering delicious menus and a professional service, while the experienced events team are ready to go the extra mile to ensure your special day runs smoothly. Our simple and straightforward wedding package aims to provide a 'one-stop-shop' of venue hire & services, with the option of upgrades or additions to enhance your big day.

We also provide a wish-list of services and products available. To make your wedding day an unforgettable and stress-free experience, our team can liaise on your behalf with external suppliers for venue dressing, entertainment, or flowers to name but a few.

We can offer flexibility on the package in most cases in order to match your theme and personal style, although we aren't able to offer the option of outside catering or bar provision due to Licensing and Food Safety risks.
