Branksome Place really was fate
I had already booked a wedding venue but was starting to worry that it would not be big enough as only held 80 guests and we had invited 150. A friend, Katie, had been to the Branksome Place Wedding Fair to check it out for me but had not got back to me on what it was like so I assumed it wasn’t a winner. It was only on chatting to another friend that she told me that apparently Branksome was lovely and I should go and check it out. Katie had all the brochures and fliers but being a new mum had forgotten to tell me!
On my way back from Tesco a week or so later I noticed the sign and thought I''d swing in for a look. I turned up unexpected and asked if I could have a quick nose as looking for a wedding venue. Emma quickly popped out and showed me around. She was lovely - very enthusiastic and accommodating. She was also getting married about a month before me so an instant bond!
This was July and my wedding was in October. The last minute arrangements never phased Regan who were always on hand to answer my every question and Bridezilla whim. We were treated like royalty on our tasting and it was lovely to see that Es, who had looked after us, came back to work at the wedding.
No request was too much - even when I turned up with a truck load of ivy and lorry of decorations to transform the marquee the day before, this was still greeted with smiles and more help.
From our red carpet arrival on the day to our drunken stagger to bed, the staff were always on hand and absolutely brilliant in every way possible.
The food was delicious and many people commented on what a relief it was to have a change from the usual wedding chicken or salmon dishes. The staff were very helpful on the day/night and in my earlier dealing with the manager, Mark, the night before I found him very obliging
It also turned out that the date I had originally set for our wedding was grey and raining whereas the date we ended up with was sunny and warm. Getting married at Branksome Place really was fate.
10 out of 10, 5 stars, 1 million percent brilliant!
