We chose this place mainly due to our family connection here, but it was also the most affordable option for us as we were already planning on a very small wedding with a separate venue for our reception near our home. Our theme was of course nature based with lots of greens that fit perfectly into the environment. To make it truly on theme I made my own flower crown, braided our own handfasting ribbon and assembled a box for rings full of dried moss. It just so happened that the weather on our date was absolutely fantastic - sunny and warm at the end of September (our photographer had an issue with his camera heating up, never had that happen in Scotland before). So the whole day was absolutely magical with sunshine, blooming heather and no wind. Our coordinator from Mar Lodge was Sophie, who did a great job helping us to the location and giving us enough space for the ceremony. She organized a transport in a buggy for two elderly guests who wouldn't have been able to walk up to the ceremony spot. Everyone else made their way up an easy trail from a nearby car park. There were signs posted near the trails asking visitors to be mindful of the ceremony. What we didn't expect though, was that in addition to the walking trails, there should have been signs in the river, too! We had a funny instance of a diver coming all the way down and ending up next to our ceremony in a full wetsuit. We were both quite stunned when we spotted each other, but thankfully the diver made a quiet exit back up the river with no disruptions. Our ceremony happened just in time for the renovated Victoria picnic lodge to be available as a back up location in case of bad weather (which of course we ended up not needing). But it made for some amazing photography shots. Truly amazing location and great communication with the venue! We both can't recommend it enough.

We're from Boston and fell in love with Edinburgh, ultimately deciding on RCPE as our wedding venue. The College is absolutely stunning and we found its history and character beyond anything we had expected. As we went through the process, the staff was so helpful, friendly, and warm. Our day went off without a hitch and we cannot recommend them or the space more highly!

Stuart Rattray and his team at Glen Tanar estate made our wedding the most unforgettable and perfect day we’ve ever had. Thanks to the team there, everything was seamless and during the entire planning process, nothing was too much to ask and Stuart found a way of making our dream come to life. We chose to get married at the absolutely beautiful Chapel of St Lesmo within the estate, a short walk away from the ballroom where we had our reception. My family stayed in the onsite cottages which were warm, welcoming and comfortable. My husband and I stayed in the unique ‘Tower-O-Ess’ honeymoon suite which we fell in love with and plan to return to as often as we can. All our guests commented on what a stunning venue we had chosen for our special day and Stuart and the team made sure that we loved every minute of it! Riddle’s Court has the quickest and kindest events organisers, making it an easy choice and highly recommended. The location is also stunning and it’s wonderful to get a chance to support conservation. The library room was the perfect size and backdrop for our ceilidh wedding reception. Their ‘in house’ decorations made for one less thing to worry about planning for and their list of recommended wedding suppliers helped us find our cake supplier and put us onto photographers. Thank you Riddle’s Court for making our wedding reception the perfect party.

What can I say apart from wow. This venue was completely perfect and made our day incredible. We had Gillian help with the planning and the organisation and we could trust that everything would run smoothly thanks to her hardwork and dedication. Stef and Tim (the owners) are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. To have the venue for a couple of days was great as my family who had to travel from Somerset to attend for to relax the next day after the wedding, which made everything even more special. The amount of accommodation included was great as hardly anyone had to worry about organising taxis and it really helped my friends with young children as they could have a middle of the day nap before the evening got underway. The whole day was perfect, we couldn't recommend Logie highly enough, when can we come back for a vow renewal? 🤣 They also have onsite highland cows you can have wedding photos taken with ☺️

Our wedding planning experience was nothing short of 5 stars from the start. We had the pleasure of planning our wedding with Isabella and Lauren who were extremely responsive, provided lots of information in the initial pre-booking stages, showed us around the venue and went through every detail of the day. We never felt any pressure to book and felt all our questions were answered in plenty of detail. The events team were very organised and highly professional over email and in person. They provided us with detailed timelines and task lists in plenty of time, but also understood that some degree of flexibility was going to be required due to our very busy lifestyles. Nothing was ever any trouble. Our day went about as smoothly as it could have done and our friends and family were blown away by how well everything was run. The morning of the wedding was very relaxing with plenty of space for both of us to get ready with our bridesmaids and groomsmen. All staff were very calm and welcoming, always with a smile. It was very clear that everyone took pride in what they do. Agnes who took over from Lauren to run the wedding breakfast and evening reception was fantastic at ensuring that things ran to schedule paying a lot of attention to every detail. Probably very few local venues have the benefit of being private (if you wish), yet having plenty of open space and variety of places for guests to enjoy the day - the chapel, the rose gardens, indoor lounges, wedding breakfast pavilion and another separate space for the evening party and dancing. This was something important to us as we did not want to be confined to just one room for the majority of the day. Having 30 bedrooms available on site for friends and family was also a massive bonus as it meant that we got to see our loved ones and share our memories of the night before with them over breakfast the next day. The surroundings are also just beautiful with plenty of lovely backdrops for photo opportunities. We highly recommend having your wedding at Carberry Tower! We had the wedding day of our dreams in October 2025 and so much of that was down to the incredible team at dunglass. In the entire planning process since booking our day over 2 years ago, nothing was too much of an ask, all communication was seamless and Kirsty went over and above to ensure we were happy with everything and the timings of the day were as we would like. On the lead up, Carmen was supportive, knowledgeable and again made sure our day ran so smoothly. We truly had the best day of our lives and cannot thank the team enough. Iain was fantastic at night, spoke to guests and gave lifts to seaview and the treehouse with the music still on and made us feel so welcomed at the estate. Our family and friends felt welcomed at the estate and have all been commenting on how beautiful the space is, and how attentive staff are. From getting our guests hot water bottles in the church, grabbing my veil as it flew off, to helping light sparklers at night time, the whole team went over and above for us. We are so thankful, and could not recommend dunglass enough. What the team have created there is something truly special and we had a day we will treasure forever. Dunglass estate has thought of every last detail that couples and guests could ever need, we felt that our day was completely flawless and are so grateful to the team for making it happen! The accommodation was perfect and everyone felt at home there. Dunglass was the first and only wedding venue we visited as we fell in love with it as soon as we saw it. We worked with Dylan to plan our dream wedding, and the whole experience from start to end couldn't have been better! The level of service and attention to detail was unmatched. Dylan got our vibe straight away, and was a beacon of support and positivity throughout the whole process. The operations team delivered impeccable service on the day itself and interacted with our guests like part of the party. We heard nothing but rave reviews the whole night! They combined hospitality and realness to create the perfect blend of high customer service and a really awesome time. Delicious food! Very catering towards dietaries and a huge variety to choose from. We had to postpone our wedding due to illness and it was handled impeccably. I honestly cannot rate the team at Unusual Venues Edinburgh highly enough to express my gratitude. Would make them the first choice for people who want a wedding venue that's out of the ordinary, and extraordinary!
