Wotton House is a wedding venue located in Dorking, Surrey. This grand manor house is set within immaculately manicured gardens which feature the first Italian gardens introduced to the UK. Additionally, the secret walled gardens, temples, ponds, and streams all come together to create an idyllic setting for your celebrations.
Facilities and Capacity
When you choose Wotton House to host your ceremony, there are two simply stunning spaces to choose from. The beautifully finished Old Library is a truly majestic setting for exchanging your vows. The room boasts ornate, welcoming fireplaces, a grand vaulted ceiling and hand-painted detailing, providing your ceremony with an enchanting and elegant atmosphere. Alternatively, if you would prefer an outdoor ceremony, the spectacular Roman-style temple within the 17th-century private walled garden is simply stunning. The grand structure is not only a delightful setting for your service but a unique backdrop for your treasured wedding photographs. By night, the temples are lit, offering a new and magical setting for even more stunning photos. The 1877 bar is the perfect setting for your drinks reception. The space is full of magnificent 17th-century frescos and offers direct access to the outdoor terrace. The Evelyn Suite has recently been refurbished to offer a light and neutral palette to complement your colour scheme. With three double doors opening out onto the 13 acres of breathtaking gardens and a side door leading to our fairy-tale grotto.

Magical Venue for an Incredible Day

Perfectly Intimate & Dog-Friendly Dream Wedding!
We planned a very private celebration with just our children, two witnesses, and our most important VIP: our dog! From our initial enquiry, Fiona (our wedding coordinator) and the entire Wotton House team were incredibly accommodating and fully embraced our unique, small-scale event. They are truly dog-friendly, which was a non-negotiable for us.
We were made to feel utterly special throughout the entire process and on the day itself. The team seamlessly adapted to our smaller party size, ensuring every detail was perfect without making us feel like we were an afterthought. The venue provided the most beautiful and romantic backdrop for our ceremony, and having our dog included in our special day was priceless.
If you are looking for a venue that is professional, flexible, and delivers exceptional service for a smaller, intimate wedding—especially one where your beloved dog can be part of the celebration—we cannot recommend Wotton House highly enough. Our guests (and the dog!) had the most wonderful time.
Wow! What an amazing wedding venue
From the moment we saw their Old Library we knew it was the place we were looking for, for our wedding venue. They have a choice for you to get married either outside in their beautiful grounds infront of the temple or inside the Old Library which is stunning!
We had an amazing wedding co-ordinator Fiona who helped us plan our wedding and made sure we had everything we wanted right down to the finer details. Nothing was too much trouble and she went above and beyond to make our day really special. The food was incredible!! We met the chef and went over exactly what we wanted and again, nothing was too much trouble. We had a toastmaster Bill who was the loveliest man who helped guide our guests to where they needed to be on the day and was also there to help the best man and us with everything we needed as well as making announcements and making sure everything ran smoothly. He is a true gentleman. There are so many positives about this venue and their staff. All the staff involved were helpful, courteous and friendly and made sure every part of the day ran smoothly. The venue is incredibly beautiful inside and out. All our guests commented on how beautiful the venue is and how well organised the day was as well as saying its the best wedding they had been too. They have plenty of rooms for your guests to stay over. We had the pleasure of staying in the honeymoon suite. We had the most incredible day and would highly recommend it to everyone.

Amazing day with great staff help
We had the most incredible experience celebrating our wedding here! From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to make our day perfect. A special thank you to Vickey, our wedding planner, who was absolutely amazing—so organised, attentive, and caring. She made everything run smoothly and took all the stress away so we could just enjoy ourselves. We also want to give a huge shoutout to Chiara, one of the waitresses, who was so kind, professional, and attentive throughout the evening. She really stood out and made us and our guests feel so well looked after. It happened to be a real heatwave on our wedding day, and the room did get quite hot, but the staff were fantastic in doing everything they could—bringing in extra fans and checking in with us to make sure we were comfortable. Their friendliness and effort really made a difference. Thank you so much to the whole team for helping us create memories we’ll never forget. Highly recommend!
