The best of days!

We couldn't have been more delighted with our wedding experience at the Ventnor Botanical Garden.

Not only was the venue incredibly beautiful, but the wedding team led by Anthony, made the event a pleasure to organize, even from our hometown of Sydney (Australia!)

In particular, Anthony went out of his way to ensure we all had the most perfect day. He was so relaxed about everything, which enables us to relax and enjoy our day.

Additionally access and management of suppliers was straightforward and we had plenty of time in advance of the event to decorate the marquee and gardens as we wanted.

Could not recommend more highly. Thank you Anthony and team. We had the very best day!

A wonderful day at a beautiful venue

When my partner and I visited Ventnor Botanic Gardens as a potential venue for our wedding, we immediately fell in love with the place. The gardens themselves are beautiful, and it was wonderful to be able to hold the ceremony outside followed by a drinks reception in a garden full of palm trees. There is even a tunnel out to the cliffs to get some dramatic photos against the sea.

The whole day can be tailor-made to exactly the wedding you want. We wanted a small wedding, so were able to hire the restaurant (which seats 56 people) for the evening reception. For those who want a larger wedding, there is the option of hiring a marquee. There is a wide range of options for food, from three course meals to BBQs to buffets. We requested a custom menu of vegan sharing platters, expecting this to be expensive or too much trouble for the chef, but it was neither! The chef, Michael, delivered a fantastic spread, everything so delicious and more than we could have imagined.

During the year of planning there was a little disruption at Ventnor - the wedding co-ordinators changed twice and the chef changed once. This did not impact our planning or our day though, as everything was handed over seamlessly and the day we had hoped for was delivered perfectly. Antony and Darren are absolute stars and dealt with a lot of the finer details behind the scenes - sourcing local beer, organising table linen, setting up the music and moving chairs and tables around between all the different parts of the day.

It was absolutely perfect, and if you're looking for an outdoor venue (with backup rooms in case of rain) that will look after you throughout the whole process and cater for your exact requests, this is the place to go!

Our gorgeous elopement wedding at Ventnor Botanic Gardens

After a very short engagement, we decided we absolutely had to get married on the Isle of Wight, after holidays a few times a year and already having fantastic memories. We contacted a few venues, but Antony was the only one that responded and answered all my complex questions! It had to be exactly what we wanted and nothing was too much trouble for Antony and the team. They even foraged me a bouquet and did my husband a boutonnière the morning of our wedding from the beautiful flowers lining the gardens! The chef prepared us a delicious vegan three course meal and we felt very well attended to as well as left alone in private to enjoy our meal together as newlyweds. They sorted everything so we could just turn up and get married. We even used two very friendly and happy members of their team as our witnesses! We loved our wedding day and wouldn’t have changed a thing about the planning, the day and the thoughts of returning to the gardens next time we visit the island on holiday to relive our special day. Jodie Hope was our photographer and she captured the essence of our marriage perfectly.

Dream Wedding at Ventnor Botanic Garden

The VBG team have been very helpful in making our dream wedding come to be.. The venue was the perfect setting for a relaxed and enjoyable day - We are still receiving compliments from family and friends 3 months on!
We particularly liked that we were able to have a reasonably ecological-friendly celebration at an economical fee.
The out-sourced providers fedback on the wedding team's organisation skills, warm and friendly manner, as well as the beauty of the setting.
Many of our guests have already made plans to revisit the Gardens, including our Photography and Videography team, who all stated there was so much more to capture.

We also made use of the convenience of the on-site cottage as our accommodation for the night before ceremony and few days honeymoon - It was delightful.

Highly recommend Ventnor Botanic Garden.

Perfect wedding for us

We had an amazing wedding here, we were from the mainland and the communication was pretty good, mostly emails but we did have phone calls aswell and they were really responsive.
Antony was brilliant and so accommodating. We did change our guest numbers and they were absolutely fine with it.
The food was amazing and the mocktail was divine.
It did rain on our day but the view was still so beautiful even in the rain! We got some fabulous pictures especially through the tunnel which we got as much access to as we wanted.
Amazing wedding!

We had the best day for our wedding, the weather was gorgeous and the gardens were just amazing. We had a ‘garden party’ vibe for the day and it was just so easy and relaxed. No stresses on the day and all the staff were so helpful and on hand for everything.

We couldn't have asked for a more special day!

We chose VBG because it had a special place in my heart, having been visiting throughout my childhood. The team on the day made sure we had the most special day, bending over backwards to ensure we were happy, and everything went off without any hiccups. All our friends couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the venue was, and how unusual/special it was. We also stayed overnight in the cottages onsight, and I couldn't recommend that more - the cottages are so special, and it meant that we had nothing to worry about in terms of travel on the day. We're so glad we chose VBG for our wedding day - the venue is beautiful, the team could not be more helpful, and it was perfect for the relaxed but beautiful wedding we wanted.

Intimate wedding ceremony at VGB.

Our wedding experience with VBG was fabulous, from start to finish. Although we had a small ceremony, we felt that we were given the same care and attention of a larger wedding. VGB stayed in touch with us throughout, keeping us up to date with all of our wedding plans.
As we were not from the island, they also helped us with recommendations for people who could dress the venue, make our cake and provide flower arrangements. All of which were amazing!
Nothing was too much trouble! From the initial arranging the date, all the way through to the day itself. We felt extremely well looked after with all possibilities considered and alternatives ready if needed.
Darren and Anthony were wonderful in helping with the arrangements, showing us amazing parts of the garden which would be wonderful for photos and being there on the day to make sure everything ran smoothly. Even helping to arrange my dress as I began to walk towards my husband to be. We are so pleased we found this hidden gem! A perfect wedding venue.
