Built in the 1700s, Hillsborough Castle is a historic venue that sits proudly on the edges of Belfast amongst 100 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. For three centuries the palace has welcomed guests from all over the world, including the the Crown Prince of Japan, Benjamin Franklin, Eleanor Roosevelt and Princess Diana. The castle has played a pivotal role in the Peace Process in Northern Ireland since the 1980s.
Today, Hillsborough Castle is the official home to the Royal Family in Northern Ireland and offers a unique and luxurious setting for your wedding day. The castle’s State Rooms are available for evening ceremonies, dinners and receptions all year round and are ideal for drinks receptions (for up to 120 people) and dinners (for up to 80 people). Alternatively, if you're keen to spend your entire day with us, we have two stunning marquee sites situated within the beautiful lawns and formal gardens of the castle. Both are licenced for ceremonies and are available from morning until night. Marquees and gazebos can be incorporated effortlessly into the landscape to suit your requirements and offer you the opportunity to create your own dream wedding space set within the historic gardens of the castle.
