Like something out of a fairytale, Lochnell Castle is a stunning Scottish destination wedding venue that sits by the sea in Benderloch, Argyll. Secluded yet accessible, it is where timeless elegance meets wild natural beauty and the perfect place for a couple to swap their vows and say, "I do." Steeped in history, the earliest occupation of the castle dates back to the sixth century, and parts of this are still visible today in the undercroft of the chapel and certain parts of the main castle building. Lochnell Castle awaits you and your loved ones to add your chapter to this venue's incredible story.

Facilities and Capacity

Whether you are planning a smaller, intimate gathering or a more lavish affair, Lochnell Castle is fully adaptable to your needs with both indoor and outdoor spaces on offer. The Chapel is the largest indoor space, is fully customizable, and can seat up to 100 people in your desired layout. It sits right next to the Dance Hall, where you and your guests can celebrate an evening of music and dancing together. You are also free to invite an extra 50 guests to join in the festivities later in the day. Should you wish to celebrate some of the day outside, the gorgeous sweeping lawns and secluded beach offer a stunning location for wedding photographs and a perfect place to relax during cocktail hour.

Coming in late September 2026 we will have our newly developed property, The Lodge. Situated just 2 minutes walk from the Castle, The Lodge will offer wonderful accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 en suite bedrooms. This property will be available for a minimum of 2 night stay and will allow the wedding party to arrive the night before the wedding, relax and wake up on the estate ready for the days celebration.
