Standing proudly on the Cornish headland, Pendennis Castle overlooks the Falmouth skyline.
This impressive fortress built in the reign of King Henry VIII in the 1540s boasts a commanding position almost entirely surrounded by sea, and was used right up until 1956. Today the outstanding sea views provide a beautiful backdrop for your wedding. Your guests will certainly be impressed as they enter the grounds over the bridge through the castle’s large arched gate. Our gun crew can even fire two of our historic big guns to make your celebrations go with a bang.
Say your vows in the beautiful round Castle Keep. Soft lighting makes this a tranquil, romantic space, perfect for wedding ceremonies. The ancient granite walls can be dressed simply with a few candles to enhance the natural elegance of the room, or the neutral colour scheme means you can really go to town with brightly coloured flowers if you prefer. The acoustics of the Keep mean that live or recorded music always sound heavenly during your wedding here.
After your ceremony, you and your partner can lead your guests out into the Chemise. This grassy circle surrounds the Castle Keep and its ramparts protect you from sea breezes as you take in the views all around and raise a glass to your future.
For more intimate weddings, you can hold your ceremony inside the Melvill Room inside the Royal Artillery Barracks. This beautifully bright room is covered by large windows with amazing sea views. After the ceremony, you and your guests can head into the castle grounds to capture your special day.
Dinner takes place in the Killgrew Room in the Royal Artillery Barracks. Flooded by sunlight in the daytime and with dramatic views of the castle after dark, this warm and comfortable room is perfect for dining with 120 of your friends and family before dancing the night away.
For larger weddings and receptions, a marquee can be set up within the grounds, wowing your guests with the panoramic views around the castle.

A real dream venue
Well, I promised to write an update following my wedding reception there in June 07!

I have to say that Pendennis Castle was an absolute dream. the staff are so very friendly, the location is excellent, it is unusual and all comments from my guests have said that the thing that made the wedding was the venue!
All this and it was pouring with rain. I had to move my planned drinks on the chemise inside to the keep and it was lovely. Amazing atmosphere and cosy with the candles twinkling at a jazz band playing.
The Barracks are perfect for the wedding breakfast. Very modern and fresh - not too cold and not too hot! Lovely views out to the castle.
At 9pm the weather broke and the guests went outside to see the stunning views.
I'll never forget standing with my new husband looking at a bright full moon above the floodlit keep - it was wonderful.
Can't recommend it enough - a wonderful place and wonderful staff!
some even joined in with the disco!

Reception Booked here
I have booked my wedding reception for June 07 here and so far have been very pleased with the service. The facilities in the new refurbished Artillary Barracks are excellent - very nice decor, and an intimate feel.

The Castle Keep for drinks is lovely and the views are out of this world.
So far I can't fault this venue. But will review further after my wedding day!
