Our wedding at Neidpath in February 2025 was absolutely wonderful! Everyone was so lovely and accommodating to make our big day everything we wanted it to be and more. The venue speaks for itself but the cottage and Queen Mary's chambers are so beautiful and cosy whilst also being opulent. We have already booked to stay again for our anniversary! We had 50 guests and they all had a great time and loved the quirkiness of the castle. There's something for everyone. And as for the photos. Just fabulous. We are jealous of anyone else having their big day as we would do it all again in a heartbeat.

All I can say is go and see the castle and your venue hunting will be over .. it has the perfect magic of being rustic but breathtaking … we didn’t know what we wanted till we saw it and then the hunt was over … after one visit !

The castle is only beaten by the team who make it as breathtaking as it is .. Sandy took us by the hand and gave us all the advice found is the right vendors and helped to create the Christmas magic we wanted .. nothing was too difficult.. and the day ran like the very best days do, without a hitch and planned with military precision .. I’m going to kiss the guys so much …. Already trying to find a reason for a hi v another party there !

Wow - I’m not even sure there are enough words to describe Neidpath Castle, the wonderful staff, and especially the phenomenal Sandy. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better venue. The entire experience felt like a dream - not only for us, but for our family and friends as well. Several guests even told us it was the best wedding they’d been to this century.

From the very start, Ian made us feel so confident and excited about the venue that we didn’t even need to view it in person to know it was the perfect place for our wedding. From the gorgeous, candle-lit Batik Tapestry Room for dinner, to the authentic ceremony room straight out of Romeo and Juliet, all perched on the breathtaking banks of the River Tweed - every part of the castle feels special. It is truly the perfect venue for a romantic, intimate wedding steeped in history.

Sandy was absolutely incredible from the planning stages through to the day itself. Every single member of my family unanimously described her as a rockstar, and they were completely right. When I say I couldn’t have done it without her, I truly mean it - our wedding would not have been half as good without her constant support, attention to detail, and, most importantly, patience with a rather indecisive young couple! She put so much heart and care into making our day truly special and genuinely felt like part of our family.

From making my sister a hot toddy so she could manage her singing surprise while unwell, to coming down a muddy hill in wind and drizzle to make sure we had a glass of fizz - and that I had something warm to wrap around me during photos - just to name a few of the countless ways Sandy went above and beyond. She puts her heart and soul into what she does, and it shows.

Everything ran seamlessly on the day, which we know is not always a given. This allowed us to relax, be fully present, and genuinely enjoy every moment. The venue itself was immaculate - from the glowing braziers and open fires, to the beautiful Mary’s Chambers and the cosy adjacent cottage. The whole setting felt warm, atmospheric, and incredibly special. It was a true dream come to life in the most stunning surroundings, and we are already looking for any excuse to return.

Not only is this the most incredible venue in Scotland and possibly the world, but the staff and service they offer is truly remarkable. Where else would you actually be treated like royalty??? You are made to feel so special and the place is your own for your entire event.

The venue is pure magic. We didn’t even see it and had never been to Peebles but Sandy (who is the most wonderful person in all of Scotland) helped us with absolutely everything. From catering, to helping us plan, and bring our very unique vision to life.

She always made space for us, was kind, compassionate and went the extra mile to mile. Every time!

Nothing but fantastic things to say about the team at Neidpath. From the very beginning, we were impressed by their excellent communication (especially since we were planning our wedding from California) and how helpful they were in recommending vendors and ideas for our wedding. Rachel on the team was especially a superstar in showing us around the castle multiple times, coordinating zoom calls with our caterer to make sure we were all on the same page, picking up our cake of cheese, and helping make various suggestions (without ever overstepping!) to ensure that our wedding ran smoothly and within our budget. She is also just the kindest person, and we felt so at ease having her there.

The castle itself as a venue was absolutely stunning, and our guests who traveled from all over the world had the best time exploring all the rooms (and taking photos in the dungeon…the Neidpath team recently put together some props and our guests LOVED it!). Queen Mary’s chamber as a place for us to stay was beautiful down to the last detail, and we loved that we could have our close friends stay nearby in the Barmkin. Coordinating was very easy so we had no problems setting up some personal touches on the Friday (we brought custom stamps for each room for our guests to find) and everyone on the Neidpath team was very generous with letting us use the various easels and baskets for setup. Our day was perfect, much thanks to David and Hannah, or day-of coordinators who were always calm and organized. We feel so lucky that we were able to spend it with our friends in such a beautiful and special place.

We had such a brilliant experience getting married at wonderful Neidpath Castle. From start to finish we received such great support from Sandy and the team. Sandy helped us make decisions to fit our budget. We could not have asked for any more and have the most precious memories from the best day of our lives!

We came across Neidpath castle when looking online for a venue to get married in Scotland. We fell in love with the rustic glamour and booked before we’d even seen it in the flesh. The list of local recommended suppliers helped us make easy decisions. It was everything we hoped and more, the team there were fantastic and the day ran seamlessly due to their experience and professionalism. We have nothing but praise for the venue and the team, especially Rachel who was lovely and helped us no end.

My husband (so excited to finally say that) can honestly say we had the PERFECT wedding at Neidpath! We eloped at the castle and were able to fully enjoy every aspect of the wedding thanks to all the careful planning and preparations made by the one and only Sandy! She helped make a day that was just for the two of us truly feel that way. She had everything ready and cleaned (and even prepped the fireplaces!) for us to use once we got in. The flowers throughout the castle were the perfect touch matching perfectly to the flowers by Rachel from the Flower Bee. She even helped carry my train down the trails to help us and our photographer, Natalie Martin, capture the perfect shots. We will definitely be back to celebrate an anniversary as soon as we can! Cannot recommend this place enough for a wedding/elopement!

We reached out to Ian and arranged a virtual tour—since we live in the US and were planning our wedding in Scotland without having visited beforehand—and it was fantastic. After that, we set our date, and everything fell seamlessly into place.

Rachel, who worked with us on the details of our day, was an absolute joy from the very beginning. She is genuinely one of the sweetest, most thoughtful people I’ve ever met, and she went above and beyond to ensure every detail reflected what we had envisioned. Her warmth, professionalism, and dedication made the planning process not only easy but truly enjoyable.

Everyone we spoke to about the castle kept telling us that no photo or virtual tour could ever do the castle justice—and the moment we stood before its doors, we knew they were right. Neidpath Castle is breathtaking. The history, the architecture, and the atmosphere are simply unforgettable. Our family stayed in the nearby cottage, which was cozy, well-equipped, and perfectly situated just steps from the castle—a wonderful experience for them as well.

When our wedding day arrived, it was everything I had ever hoped for and more. The entire team at Neidpath made sure every detail was handled, allowing us to simply be present, soak in the joy, and focus on what the day meant to us. We were able to relax completely and celebrate without a single worry.

It felt like we were transported back in time, surrounded by centuries of history, yet wrapped in total comfort and luxury. We blindly booked this venue in hopes that it would be exactly what we wanted. And let me tell you, it surpassed our wildest dreams.

The historic details of the room were beyond captivating. From the ancient stone walls and original wooden beams to the antique furnishings, every inch of the chamber told a story. The stone fireplace was absolutely beautiful and made our evenings feel cozy, romantic, and unforgettable. Sitting by the fire in such a historic space felt surreal, like sharing a moment with the past. We found ourselves sitting in awe taking in every moment of this extraordinary experience. Everything was impeccably clean, thoughtfully arranged, and tastefully preserved to maintain the charm of the castle while providing modern comfort. The breakfast hampers delivered each morning were a delight. They were full of fresh, delicious local goods that we looked forward to each day. It was the perfect way to start our mornings before wandering the castle grounds.

Exploring the castle itself was an adventure we’ll never forget. We discovered a real stone well, tucked away like something out of legend, and even descended into the original dungeon—spooky and fascinating all at once. The top floor history room was filled with captivating information, and we loved that there were two separate entrances leading up to stunning rooftop views of the surrounding hills and River Tweed. And of course, the bar room, with its cozy ambiance and quirky charm, was the perfect place to gather with loved ones—complete with the original castle toilets that had us all grinning. Every nook and cranny of Neidpath tells a story, and it was a joy to explore it all.

From the sweeping views of the River Tweed to the kind, attentive staff, every part of our experience was flawless. As an LGBTQ+ couple, we felt genuinely welcomed and celebrated, which made our time there even more meaningful. Neidpath Castle isn’t just a venue; it’s an emotional experience—timeless, soulful, and unforgettable. Sandy was a genuinely incredible host that made even this 600+ year old castle feel like our temporary home. We will never forget every wonderful moment we spent here.

The team and venue are just simply perfection. Neidpath is perfect for couples looking for rustic, antiquated castles that haven't been renovated. We love the charm of the original structures and artworks - it is breathtaking. The views from the balconies are unbelievable and all round it is just perfection. The team were so brilliant in attending to every one of our needs - nothing was off the table. The flower arch they made for us was flawless and the candle package is an absolute must!

Our wedding at Neidpath Castle was unique, full of Scottish Spirit & like taking a step back in time. We couldn't have wished for a better venue. From opening coms with Ian, to pulling everything together with Rachel (who is an absolute gem and breath of fresh air), our wedding on the Tweed was perfection.
