I'm afraid I found Brympton dis-organised and money grabbing. I really did not enjoy the experience of planning my wedding here. If you plan on booking be aware you will have to deal with every supplier separately and there is no one person over seeing your day or the planning. 3 Months before my wedding I was told the corkage had gone up £8 per person and 6 weeks before was informed some rooms now housed less people and I had to pay more for adults staying in family rooms. My guests were warned at 1pm if they did not go to bed we would be charged. They lock up the main house which I'm sure must be against fire safety as there are rooms in there! Be warned children also not allowed to stay in the main house. The house and grounds are beautiful. The food by dine with style was lovely and the overall day went well but I have a stressful time planning and constantly had to refer to previous emails quoting lower prices. Over all I would recommend to look elsewhere!

Nice venue but facilities rather rustic

Undoubtedly Brympton is a lovely venue but I'm afraid the accommodation rather basic in the main house and in the Fat Pigeon. The day after the wedding you aren't allowed access to the main house and so have to reach the breakfast room by use of a spiral staircase, also you have to leave by this route which is difficult with suitcases etc. The rooms in the Fat pigeon were cold and not cleaned thoroughly with dead wasps and woodlice a feature. Breakfast was basic. I feel that this place lacks the finesse of many fine 4 and 5 star hotels .There is hardly any staff and security is lax- no key to your room unless a premium or deposit is paid for a key, no safe in the bedrooms, no key to outer door to main building so anyone can enter and reach all rooms . Some staff seemed displeased if you went for a walk around asking what you were doing, if a venue is for exclusive use then people expect to be able to go where they wish and be welcomed. Beware what is offered at the initial booking get everything in writing and a fixed price as they moved the goal posts many times and agreed prices were escalated if you do this you should avoid most pitfalls.

Fantastic place

Rooms are gorgeous and the staff are excellent. I'm getting married there in July this year and I can't fault them. We just had our tasting session which was excellent, the head chef even came and had a sit down with us as he had other suggestions he wanted us to think about.

Our Magical Wedding Day
Venue Service

By Suzanne Levene, on 11 Mar 2017Date of Wedding - 25 Feb 2017

Ellie and team gave us the most magical wedding day at BH - their stunning venue. The venue is tucked away in the countryside and is nothing like what you'd expect when you walk inside. It's simple stunning and has everything you could possibly want in a venue including beautiful outside space if you're lucky enough to have great weather like we did! You must view this venue the pics do not do it justice! The hosts Ellie and Michelle and their lovely staff could not be nicer and couldn't do enough for us, making us feel welcome and always at ease, nothing was too much trouble. I really wish we could turn back time and have our day again it was absolutely perfect! Thank you Ellie, Michelle & everyone at BH for giving us such a special day! Xxx
