Located in Southwest London, our Grade II* listed building has been part of community life for more than 125 years. Originally Battersea Town Hall, it has hosted suffragette meetings, the voting in of John Archer as the first Black mayor of a London borough, and galas supporting survivors of the Titanic. When the building faced demolition 50 years ago, the community came together to save it, and Battersea Arts Centre was born.
