We chose this hotel for our wedding as we wanted a very intimate and quiet event—just the two of us—and it truly couldn’t have been more perfect.
From the very beginning, Sam, the wedding coordinator, was incredible. She took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and talked us through all the available options for both the ceremony space and our stay. We weren’t sure whether to get married indoors or outside, but Sam patiently guided us through each possibility. She also kindly recommended a celebrant and photographer, which made planning so much easier. Throughout the process, she kept in touch regularly, checking in on our progress and offering support. I was especially touched that she agreed to help me with my dress on the day and be one of our witnesses—it meant so much to us.
When we arrived at the hotel, we were warmly welcomed by the team. The staff were friendly and attentive from the moment we stepped in. They took care of our flowers and kept our paperwork safe, which was very reassuring.
Our room was beautiful—spacious, comfortable, and with a wonderful view. We were greeted with a lovely welcome card and a chilled bottle of fizz, which was such a thoughtful touch and helped make the occasion feel even more special.
Thanks to the Scottish weather and our desire for a cosy, intimate setting, we decided to hold the ceremony indoors. The room provided was absolutely perfect, with large bay windows and a quiet, tucked‑away location that made it feel private and peaceful despite being in a busy hotel.
After the ceremony, we spent some time relaxing in the lounge before dinner. The staff were fantastic—so friendly and genuinely happy for us. They made sure we had everything we needed and even moved our flowers to our specially reserved dining table.
Dinner was simply exquisite, and the excellent service continued throughout the evening. We were really touched by the warm wishes and kindness shown by every member of staff.
We ended our day in the bar, enjoying a quiet drink to celebrate, and once again we were met with warm smiles and exceptional service.
Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. The hotel and its staff made our special day truly unforgettable, and we would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a wedding venue—especially if you’re planning something intimate and personal like we did.

Me and my partner recently got married here, the wedding planners Sam and Catherine put us at ease and we’re so flexible with us with what we could do. Was honestly the smoothest day couldn’t have chosen a better venue for our special day.

I honestly don’t know where to begin with our experience at Atholl Palace Hotel, but if you are considering this venue for your wedding, please think twice.

What should have been one of the best days of our lives was overshadowed by a series of unacceptable failures and mismanagement.

To start, the basics were not even covered. The tablecloths were not ironed, and worse, dirty cutlery was laid out for our guests. This immediately set the tone and was incredibly embarrassing.

We paid for a free bar with clear rules on what was and wasn’t included, yet these were completely ignored. Guests were able to purchase drinks that should have been restricted, while at the same time, full bottles of wine that we had paid for were removed from tables throughout the evening. This felt both disorganised and dishonest.

The service for the bride and groom was shockingly poor. Our food was late and, when it did arrive, it was incorrect. On top of that, one of our bridesmaids has gluten and lactose intolerances, yet staff repeatedly referred to her as vegan, leaving her too anxious to eat anything at all.

As the night went on, the situation only got worse. We were denied access to the suite we had paid for and had to practically beg, in our wedding attire, to be allowed into it near the end of the night. When we later ordered room service, we were told it would be left on the floor because staff “couldn’t be bothered” to bring it in.

There were also multiple logistical failures. Champagne they had arranged for us as a surprise was delivered to the wrong room, which we only discovered when a groomsman thanked us for it, thinking it was from us. The bar, which we were assured would be fully staffed and set up in the Atholl Suite,, forcing guests to leave and go all the way upstairs repeatedly. To make matters worse, non-wedding guests were allowed to help themselves to canapés and drinks during our paid free bar.

In the lead-up to the wedding, meetings were cancelled at the last minute, and our organiser was dismissed midway through the planning process, leaving us with little continuity or confidence.

Overall, the entire experience was a disaster from start to finish. The lack of organisation, communication, and basic standards of service was astounding. This was not just disappointing—it was deeply upsetting on a day that cannot be repeated.

I would strongly urge anyone considering this venue for their wedding to look elsewhere.

Our wedding at Atholl Palace was an absolute dream come true! Every detail was perfect, and the entire team went above and beyond to make our day unforgettable. Atholl Palace Hotel is a stunning venue for a fairytail wedding. It has beautiful grounds for exceptional photos, a good choice of venue rooms to accommodate any size of wedding. Wedding packages are attractively priced. The Kitchen staff led by Chef Maciej prepared delicious meals that all our guests fully enjoyed. Drinks at the Stag’s Head bar can be expensive but there is a vast choice. We would like to say a big thank you to Catherine, Tomas, Alison and Euan for going above and beyond to ensure our big day went off without a hitch.

Atholl Palace Hotel was just what we were looking for in a venue. We had our ceremony and meal in the Bow Lounge and evening reception in the Atholl Suite. We were also able to reserve the Stag’s Head Bar for our drinks reception for private use. The wedding meal was absolutely delicious, with huge portions. We received numerous compliments from guests about how lovely the food was. The best meal had at a Wedding. The Bow Lounge is stunning, and has the view out the bay window down the valley. The Atholl Suite had everything we needed, with its own bar and toilets. It felt like we had exclusive use of the hotel at night, especially as it’s in the extension of the hotel away from other guests. The team were also able to accommodate our request of having breakfast the next morning in the Tay Room (a private area in the Verandah restaurant), so our guests could all be together. We had the most perfect time!

We had a fantastic wedding at the Atholl Palace! The hotel and grounds are beautiful, well kept and perfect for a wedding, and all our guests loved the setting. The staff at Atholl Palace were brilliant and the wedding moved seamlessly from start to finish due to their hardwork. The wedding team at Atholl Palace were amazing in helping to organise everything, allowing us to sit back and enjoy the lead up to the big day and the wedding day itself. Would highly highly recommend this wedding venue.

Atholl Palace stepped up after our Castle wedding venue went under liquidation. The staff at Atholl went out of their way to make our special day happen. Everything came together to give us our dream Scottish wedding even when we were planning from overseas. Pictures came out beautifully, the grounds are so dreamy. I highly recommend Atholl, they truly went out of their way on our wedding day!

The organisers at the Atholl Palace were excellent and much better than other establishments some who didn’t even respond!! On the day they were on hand to sort out any hiccups and all the staff were great and food was perfect for us - highly recommend!!

All the staff at the Atholl Palace were extremely helpful and supportive throughout the entire planning of our wedding. Due to COVID there was many rearrangements of our wedding date and the staff were always very accommodating and patient. We had a wonderful day with all our guests, the food was excellent and the setting was beautiful. We would highly recommend the Atholl Palace as a Wedding venue.
