Bodiam Castle is the perfect backdrop for a magical wedding day, full of romance. The 14th century medieval castle is set in the heart of the East Sussex countryside and surrounded by rolling grounds, providing the ideal location for a picturesque wedding.
The National Trust property is full of character, with lost of traditional features, including a working moat, spiral staircases, battlements and ruins. The dedicated team are on hand to ensure you and your guests have an unforgettable day, with every detail taken care of.
The castle is licensed for civil ceremonies in the main gatehouse or within the castle itself. It is sometimes possible for the castle grounds to be closed to the public during your ceremony, ensuring a truly personal celebration. Following your ceremony, your guests can explore the grounds, whilst you and you photographer make the most of the many beautiful backdrops, this venue provides.
Your reception can be held in a marquee within the castle grounds, with a choice of settings or for smaller parties of 50 guests, the Wharf tea-room is available.
You and your guests will dine on delicious food, prepared by their dedicated caterers, Anise Catering. Their menus are all created using the very best quality ingredients and sustainably sourced produce. It is Anise who will also supply your marquee, food and drink, toilets and furniture, ensuring you will only have to detail with one supplier!
During the evening, the castle is floodlit for an impressive backdrop for your evening celebrations.
